ge: you want my vote? listen to me

in every election it is always the politicians who tell the voters this is what i am going to do for you. this is what you will get when you elect me. never did the politicians ask the voters what they want. and this is about the best time for the voters to register their minds and thoughts. you want my vote, listen to me. this is what i want. this is what i think is good for me. is there a platform for the people to tell the politicians what they want? the internet chat sites and blogs and the media forum may be the place for it. this is an opportunity presented for the voters to say their piece. these are what i want, if you want my vote. 1. i want my cpf back at 55. you may keep $10k for a medical insurance. the rest is my money and i want it back. 2. i want public transport to be returned to the people. deprivatise public transport and return it to the stats board as an essential service for the people. no profit motive. 3. no more essential services to be privatised. if they do, make sure that the citizen's access to such service is not subject to profit motive. 4. take care of the citizens first. all jobs between $1000 to $10k must first be offered to the citizens. only if no takers shall it be given to ft. exceptions can be given to mncs. all govt and stats boards and glcs must prioritise to give jobs to citizens. 5. keep medical cost down with every citizen accessible to c wards if he so chooses. these are just the starters from me, for my vote. don't tell me what is good for me. i tell you what is good for me.

hahaha speed.

actually if everyone write to the media or make themselves heard, then the political party cannot say i dunno. and if they don't, then they are not listening to the people. then they don't deserve the vote.

the voters can then shout, in one voice, you listen to me.

why should the voter listen to the politicians who treat them as senile and unthinking fools?

The government's mentality is very simple... Those who asked for adequate support (in difficulty) are losers, no backbone...

A winner government with backbone hence no need people's support. Vote not hence for the incumbent government. This kinda government needs support meh? This kinda government can't even think properly. So much reserve, so huge power... For fuck? End up only resort to evil, end up evil thrives.

elfred,

the voters have been taken for granted for too long. and the way it was done before, where politicians decide what is best for the voters should change. the voters must tell the politicians to listen to what they want.

otherwise why vote for the politicians and give them a blank cheque to strangle you at the end. the people must demand to be listen to and not the other way round.

Demand reasonably...

But to do so, one have to be political abled in the fisrt place. Which is you'd have to reason with them on the same thingy: politics.

Which is the same towards Goh MS if he wanna be politician. People always think politicians' are ATM... but even ATMs need the right cards.

But I agree with you... this government... all talk do little. But put it this way...

Since they are the great independent winners... why should they need people's support? For what? Only a piece of stupid paper per loser what. The government can vote for themselves, and be self-sufficient. Isn't that the whole idea about?

Singaporeans, obey their thinking, let them support themselves, and be proud. I don't know to laugh or to cry...

hi speed,

only those who have access to the internet or who feel comfortable with writing to the media are able to do this. and they should do it. make their demands and voices heard.

we cannot forever let the politicians tell us that they are doing it for our own good. which often is for their own good. the internet has given the people a voice. technology has turned the situation around.

it used to be the politicians and their propaganda, in the media and over the speakers during rally. they talked and the people can only listen.

now the people can talk. and they better listen. or no vote.

singaporeans will get the party or politicians they deserved. if they choose not to vote wisely, then there should not cry about it.

I'm not voting.

In that way I cannot be "blamed" for anything that will eventually go awry.

You voters are to blame. That's democracy for you. :-)
