The USA is facing isolation, with even allies being targeted with tariffs across the board. The EU is on the agenda and that may just be the tipping point of the total annihilation of the EU's economy. It is ironic that the EU had been following the USA in demonizing China like a obedient dog and now facing such treatment by the USA. That is nothing but Karma.
The EU is still trying to put on a brave front, celebrating the Baltic states cutting off its electricity grid from Russia. It is an open secret that the EU still relies on Russian energy on the sly, buying them via China, India and Saudi Arabia under the table. There is practically no chance ever of the EU going to enjoy cheap Russian energy again, even after the settlement of the Ukraine War.
The EU will be forced to buy expensive USA energy forever and going back to Russia is going to face a USA backlash. Trump is even threatening the EU countries with his new-found tariff weapon, if they do not buy more USA energy and that says it all. Moreover, the USA is on the verge of making Canada its 51st state and seizing its resources, particularly its oil and natural gas besides rare earth elements. This is a bonanza that Trump is looking forward to making lots of money selling to the EU.
Friendship normally has it privileges. But friendship with the USA is fatal according to Henry Kissinger. He was on the inside of the USA administration and should know much about USA politics.

Some are pointing out that Trump's tariffs on friends and foe are falling into a trap set by China. How is that so?
Thinking about this point, it makes sense. In trying to prevent Chinese products from competing in the USA through sanctions and tariffs, China builds factories all over the world - in Vietnam, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, Mexico, Brazil, Pakistan and some EU countries like Hungary as well to avert USA sanctions and tariffs. Trump has no way of preventing China from accessing the USA market using the indirect way and is thus forced to erect tariffs against every country to stem out Chinese products. This is causing bad blood from friends and foe alike and will isolate the USA even further. This is the trap that China sets for the USA, to make countries go against the USA and is working.
Having said that, Chinese EV makers investing worldwide, for example, are not targeting the USA market alone, which is just basically of minor importance. Those factories set up by BYD are more about targeting the Global South countries that the USA and the EU could never compete on cost and pricing. And if Global South countries are being targeted with tariffs by the USA, who do we think they will support going forward? Even Canada, a staunch USA ally through thick and thin, is doing something that we never thought would happen by selling oil to China in the face of Trump's tariffs.
As the EU faces a 25% tariff from the USA soon, what will they do? Same as Canada perhaps, now that the EU knows that the USA is throwing it under the bus. Isn't that also falling into a trap set by China too?
The EU is truly irrelevant going forward. NATO with USA inside must also be dissolved for another security bloc without the USA. Anyway, the trust between Putin and the EU is gone forever, so cheap energy is out of the question. And even then, the USA would never allow Russian cheap energy to enter Europe and destroy what it had been working for by getting rid of the Nord Stream pipelines.
Europe's lost century is in the making, all thanks to the USA.
Trump could make it as part of the deal for stopping the Ukraine War for Putin not to sell cheap oil and gas to Europe.
Trump is behaving as if everything in the world belongs to him, and he can unilaterally decide what to do with them.
The Europeans thought they were going to sit around the table to enjoy the food on the menu with the USA. They never realized that they were actually on the menu.
