It seems Western Democracy had its birth in Athens during the time of Plato and Aristotle. The system has been widely practised in western countries for hundreds of years. If we examine Western Democracy system which has spread like a disease to all ex-colonial countries we can see a lot of flaws and fraud in the system .
There are actually too many flaws and possible loop holes for frauds in the system to enumerate. Suffice to say Western Democracy is always hijacked by men of disputable characters . In short they are mostly monopolised by crooks and scoundrels who camouflaged themselves in respectable outer outlook of resplendent coats and ties.
Take for example the American Republicans and the Democrats. Aren't the two parties two sides of the same coin. They both practise the same ideologies and same doctrines and serve the same agenda. The only is difference is that the leaders in each party are fighting to be the leader or leaders of the country . As leaders many of them will pretentiously claim to fight for the people and the country but with most of them actually having secret agenda for their own benefit or selfish ends. How many of the populace have noticed that many of these political leaders after serving one or two terms in office they can live comfortably as millionaires or even billionaires which they were not in the position to do so.before.
Asia style western based democracy is even more advance. Once the party is in power it will enact laws and regulations to entrench itself in permanent power .
Actually it would be nice if all parties sincerely work for the people and the country and not for their own benefit. If that can really happen it would be beautiful and graceful for the winning party leadership to invite and incorporate some talented good character opposition leaders as members of the government. So there will be no need to demonise each other to amuse the voters except on arguments base on logic and facts.
I am actually quite ignorant and confused about western democracy which people may be amused or abused when election comes all potential candidates will be barking at each other unashamely before the people like wild dogs and hyenas. I suppose the political aspirants do not mind the hassle for once elected they can live a luxurious life of glory and comfort and the people can easily forget about their promises.
I would be pleased if netizens can contribute their knowledge about the pros and cons of western democracy to enlighten the people.

Western democracy is not a family-run business for sure . . .
There is no such thing as Western or Eastern Democracy. Or, Southern and Northern Democracy.
The world then, during Plato's time, and the world now are still the same. There are people who project themselves as politicians "from the people, for the people, by the people." But in real terms, for all intents and practicalities, it is "from themselves, for themselves, by themselves", which means, in Aqualand's or Sicklyland's context, "from the elites, for the elites, by the elites.
As long as a system is based upon a hierarchy of power, with the most powerful (a small group of control-freaks and power-hungry despots) right at the top of the pyramid and the least powerful (the majority of the masses) right at the bottom, there can never be any Democracy.
As long as a system is based upon representation, there is no Democracy. Whoever "represents" a group of people and vowed to heaven and earth, swearing upon the bible, and affirming upon the laws of the country, is humanly impossible to represent everyone in that group. Therefore, he has the prerogative to choose who within that group he should represent. That means, he will never represent truthfully ALL!
The only REAL Democracy that can happen is to follow a Networking System - an interdependent cyclical system which is universal in this Universe, starting from our Single Human Cell in our body and throughout the whole Universe. If you take a closer look, you will find that there is no leader to lead. Each cell acts and reacts based on the actions and reactions of the other cells as a whole. That is at the micro level. At the macro level, you see that the various solar systems in the Universe, with planets revolving around a sun and the moon revolving around the planets. They keep their distance and avoid clashing onto one another. At the personal level, you see the various parts of our body, the head, hands, legs, eyes, ears, nose, skin, stomach, liver, heart, lungs, kidneys, etc., they are all interdependent - one cannot do without the other; one helps the other; one reacts to another; there is no leader. None can claim it is better than the other, and therefore, has the right to rule over them. In brief, this is the REAL Democracy, which has existed since the beginning of TIME. This is THE SYSTEM formulated by NATURE, not by man.
Whatever system that is devised by man is a finite system for selfish reasons, not for universal applications. Therefore, they are subject to abuses, misuses and exploitations by the imperfect man.

Democracy versus capitalism
Democratic politics depends on solidarity; capitalists do not care about nationality. Democracy is local; capitalism is essentially global. Democratic politics is founded on the equality of citizens; capitalism cares little about the distribution of riches. Democracy says all citizens have a voice; capitalism gives the rich by far the loudest.

Whatever political system and no matter how idealistic a system appears in theory, it is NEVER ideal or wholesome so long the Rulers are NOT wholesome or WORSE, are avaricious, vice addicted and abusive.
There were great leaders, however they were far and few within the Less than 5000 years of recorded history.
lt is the UNWHOLESOME NATURE OF HUMAN BEINGS THAT FAIL TO MAKE GOOD THE SOCIETY. And may l say that the IDEAL POLITICAL SYSTEM ONLY EXIST IN THEORY.

There is not perfect way of governing the nation in this world. But definitely there r some 'balance' way of governing the people. Looks like a mix of participative, sociologist, solidarity, authoritative & democratics with check & balance is the best model style of government.
In Sinkieland, the governing style is leaned towards cronies autocratic socialis way of governing the people less its check & balance which results in a docile timid & less innovative nation waiting for instruction to be given or having SOP but for show or impossible to apply in reality ..its a bad state here..
Within the Context Of Human Society, there is no option except to wish for a benevolent or at least a benign regime.
Empirically, there were overwhelming proof that absolute power corrupts absolutely. The Wisdom of NOT to put all eggs in one basket is seldom heeded. Hence, the Daft suffers due to their own follies.
A most common ploy use by rulers is to divide and conquer. Despite being a common and commonsensical thingy, the Daft were and are willing victims.

Democracy human rights and all that kind of stuff is just used by westerners to infringe on other countries territorial integrity. Syria, Libya, N.korea all prove the point.
Democracy is just a word. Use it in a group discussion, it means the style allow participants to expound own individuals ideas. And the conclusion is drawn from the ideas. Each individual will feel responsible to the implementation and the subsequent consequences.
This is a preferred modern style of discussion for groups. Online forums (such as this) are largely in this style.
Discussions that are do not allow participants to join in except the host are plenty in sinkieland. That is the division. The host would tell the participants to accept millions and millions of foreigners because that society has old folks. Had they thought about this fantasy of old folks? No society has no old folks. But out of a sudden, that society accepted the idea to replenish old folks with foreigners: so the society became 1:1 citizen to foreigner. Certainly job income would be taken away for majority of the citizens. These are consequences.
But the style to decide many many millions of foreigners to come in came from probably one single man from one single family. But that decision affected millions livelihoods. Should there be a referendum to check if that decision to open the flood gate was appropriate? In some western societies, a referendum would be called. This is done because the leaders believe in democracy.
In other words, there is no western democracy if the leader in the west do the same thing by letting millions of refugees into its own territories.
However, in western democracy, there is leadership renewal. UK has such system seemed messy, but there are always potential leaders to take over the current pm. Whereas in one society, there was a family held party that pass down leadership by chosen individuals. The family chose the individuals, and the voters vote for them to be leaders. It is still called democratically elected.
Which style of democracy on what issues, is not important. Voters are more concerned with their income.
The leaders can come and go, but the leaders must ensure income increases for each household. This is the real issue.
Selected leaders heavily weighed on family related individuals will hit the steep slope downwards when the leaders are more worried about how to grab more money and how to grab more individuals they trust to sustain their power.
In other words, democratically election systems do have undemocratic leaders when power and money are the real motives.
One can see SK President was a hijacked skeleton by a cult, and many democratic world leaders being jailed for taking money, hiring wife without working.
Voters on sankieland will have the good time to face the sinking steep slope down the hill for choosing leaders whom they have had fantasy of world class number one. Not even china leaders wanted to be in for conference. Is it enough to wake the voters up that its time to put their children s future as priority than to think sankieland is always number one when a party is around to bluff them. Giving them big figures like $57k per capita income. Do u earn $57k last year as individual? Its a bluff. Because, there are companies earning income in china or US or elsewhere, but reporting income for low taxes on sinkieland. These companies incomes are added inside and divide by the citizens number. These companies are real tax evaders to US or somewhere. Do they provide jobs for locals? No. The are taxed far lower. Who pay the taxes to up keep the money grab politicians? COE, GST, and many more plus the delayed CPF to take at 70 yrs old, all these are the consequences for believing the bluff, citizens are rich, each earning 57k a year.
When can voters want to be real parents to care about their sons who are NS men, and claim back the jobs for them to upkeep their wives and children? Time to vote for opposition in the democratic voting system.
If the Presidency, the highest and most respected office in the land can be fixed, I will have no doubts the everything else can also be fixed. I will be naive if I do not take election results with a handful grab of salt and vinegar.
Democracy is a scam. It is still dictatorship behind the curtain. Democracy tool such as election was developed to make people think that they are in control of their fate but actually they are not to stop them from rebelling. Results can all be manipulated by rulers behind the scene.
In europe where democracy is held in high regard is actually the worst rubbish. Anyone with 20 or 30% votes can be made the head. Merkel is a good example. She has only 34% of total votes but still stay as chancellor while more than 60% did not want her anymore. All these leaders are just minions. The real rulers still continue to rule decades after decades.
The only country perhaps with true democracy is switzerland where referendums are held and gov honoured the results of those referendums. Other countries in this world only have fake democracy.
People vote with their feet.
