Cabinet changes – Read the tea leaves

Masagos Zulkifli is promoted to full minister in the PMO. There is no doubt that this is a promotion. Then there were a few changes with Lui Tuck Yew taking up a second appointment as Second Minister for Defence. This must be a promotion I supposed, for a job well done as Transport Minister. The perceived future PM Chan Chun Sing is moving to NTUC as Minister without Portfolio in the PMO. Not sure what does this mean, a promotion, demotion or lateral transfer. His Social and Family ministry is to be taken over by the Chuan Jin, the Minister of Manpower. Is Chuan Jin being given a lighter job after sweating it out in the hot MOM for 3 years, presumably MSF is more social and about family matters, about carrying and kissing babies. What is surprising is for Lim Swee Say to move to MOM, a full ministry after being Minister without Portfolio and doing very well there. He has made many indications to step down and this appointment does not seem like he is stepping down.

Political observers and analysts would be scratching their heads trying to make meanings out of this shift when election is just around the corner. Do the changes indicate anything about the GE? The promotion of Masagos is clearly perceived as pandering for the Malay votes. What is the story of giving Lui Tuck Yew the Second Minister appointment? Grooming him for bigger responsibilities because he did a damn good job in transport?

What about Chan Chun Sing’s move to NTUC, a plan to expose him to the ground to get to know the biggest workers movement to prepare him for the PM’s post? The puzzling move is for Chuan Jin to take over the MSF, a relatively light weight ministry unless this is the seat for the grooming of future PMs like Chun Sing, following the path of Chun Sing as the next in line. Just watch if Chuan Jin would subsequently take over the NTUC position as the career development path of a future PM to be.

Anyone could see a bigger and clearer picture of what this is all about? One thing for sure, salary increases and higher cost of govt. It is so shiok to promote more ministers to make them happy using OPM. How many ministers are in the PMO?

Cabinet changes - Also called rearranging deck chairs on the Titanic.
The final outcome is still the same.
Singaporeans will suffer.

Overcrowded hospitals
Overcrowded old age homes
And PAP's priority is to install smart TV in every HDB block?

http://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/community-smart-screens/1772250.html

Where is the money going to come from?
Where is the money going to?
And who are the suppliers?
Will $2 companies be allowed to bid for the project?
Will HDB or another $2 company own the smart tv?

Why not make the information available to our personal smartphones instead?
How does this benefit Singaporeans?

Will our HDB S&CC fees be increased to pay for Balakrishnan's latest IT project?
Is it true?
PAP Millionaire Bala's IT project in the YOG created a $300 million cost over-run?

Fukushima Chiefs: The Technology Needed To Decommission 3 China-Syndromed Reactors Doesn’t Exist ... Maybe In 200 Years?
Submitted by George Washington on 04/09/2015 12:15 -0400
Preface: As you read this post, please keep in mind:
• The reactors didn’t just suffer a melt down, or even a China syndrome type melt-through, but a series of melt OUTS. Scientists have no idea where the cores of the nuclear reactors are. Well actually, maybe they have found them … scattered all over kingdom come.
• In response to the Fukushima crisis, Japan banned journalism, and Japan has once again gone fascist. If the heads of Fukushima are publicly telling mainstream media such as NHK that things are bad - and the government is letting them do it - you know things are really bad ...
We reported in 2012 that top nuclear experts say that the technology doesn’t yet even exist to clean up Fukushima....

A chart showing where the radioactive contaminants have flowed, to all the Pacific coasts of North and South America, is frightening.

$63m programme to boost Singapore's nuclear expertise

Mr Kwa Chong Guan, a senior fellow at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies at Nanyang Technological University, said: "Singapore, if it is to participate in any regional discussion on nuclear energy, needs to build up its expertise on nuclear energy... The establishment of a Nuclear Safety Research and Education Programme is a step towards this end."

Everything "sexy" also want to do.
Trains break down don't want to do.
Not enough hospitals, don't want to build some more.
Buses overcrowded don't know what to do.
Not enough nursing homes, send our parents to Johore.

What a fucking useless government.

"Muddy Waters, the investment research firm helmed by Carson Block, just announced a new short thesis — Singaporean commodities trading firm, Noble Group Limited.
........Now, the last time Muddy Waters took on a Singapore listed trading firm, Olam, the country’s state investment firm, Temasek, bailed Olam out. "

No problem.
PAP government is very rich.
Can spend money on a lot of things except hospitals and Singaporeans.
Cannot spend money like education on Singaporeans.
That would be subsidizing Singaporeans.
But it's okay to give freebies to Aliens.

The PAP Government is SUPER RICH.
It has just awarded a million Sin Dollars to the Two Duopoly Transport Operators SBS Transit and SMRT.
Both Operators make tens of millions dollars each year.
They also got a billion dollars from the PAP Government to buy buses.

The sheeple are yet again going to get the govt they deserve.

Parliament might even be disbanded. Everything will be run fro the PMO---where every person is appointed, no elections necessary.

Good system. I approve. Now the entire PMO is your new Benign Dictator.

Do you see the picture evolving?

I would like to congratulate
Mr Masagos on his well deserved
promotion to full minister.

More promotions on the way?

We shall see.

Chan Chun Sing post could be trivial or powerful depends on LHL. LHL could use him as a someone who dispatch commands and after sometime, the rank and file will see CCS as natural leader.

Meanwhile promotion of CCS to NTUC leadership could be a sign that elites are taking a serious look at the workers plight.

CCS being a poor man scion may be able to look at things at different angle compared to LHL.

Incidentally LSS also go to MOM.

Everyone including LHL knows what the problem is. But how to come out with a solution is another issue.

Also now Kuan Yew is dead. We will be looking forward for a new chapter of Singapore.

Moses got the Ten Commandments from God so he won't deviate.
PAP got so many books like "Hard Truths" from LKY so that they won't deviate.
LKY and God is same, same but different.
PAP and Moses is also same, same but different.

You want change?
Vote Opposition.
Change regime.
Otherwise, it's just more of the same from the post-LKY PAP.

Yep, yep, yep, they know the plight of the workers and Tan Chuan Jin did so badly that he was removed and demoted, yep, to kiss babies.

And they is another poor man son who now lived in a mansion and enjoying Swiss standard of life.

What labour movements that the author and many commenter are mentioning? The labour movement has not done much except for their discount/loyalty card that cost $8 a month.

The Manpower minister deserved to be demoted. He said foreign PMETs did not displaced local PMETs. This not a zero sum game.

Would more opposition MPs in parliament displace PAP MPs? .
