Can we forgive Mr Brown?

I am not sure if Mr Brown is still in Singapore. Or is he thinking of emigrating and be a quitter? Might as well. He must be feeling a lot of pressure now. Poor chap. How can he attempt to undermine national strategy? That is serious stuff. Maybe he should apologise and come clean and see if he can be rehabilitated. In communist terminology it is called self confession. Who knows, he might get his job back and may even be promoted after that. The return of the prodigal son! We are a forgiving people. Sunday is good day for confession and forgiving. Yes, shall we give him a second chance?

Mr Brown is still alive and kicking and a stayer, as seen in http://www.mrbrownshow.com/, he is doing well so far in his little venture.

I feel that he did nothing wrong in writing that column, so he has no need to apologise.

aye, aye! brown is much more capable than that!

Brown is the color of shit, a very apt reflection of the sort of rubbish that he spews. I've said it before and I'll say it again. Good riddance to that sort of trash.

sometimes it is not what a person said. it is what the other person twists the interpretation and insists that the person meant something else.

one can say something fairly innocent like, i saw a bird. the other party may insist that you call him a cock. a bird can be a cock. and a cock is not too complimentary depending on one's definition.

and one can be sued in court because the other party has the money. and because he is so important, he will sue for damages to his reputation in the millions.

thus for saying 'i saw a bird,' one can be embroiled in a law suit and may lose a million bucks.

More bullshit from the master bullshitter again. Trash is trash. You cannot turn the rubbish in the dump truck into gold now, can you ? what mr brown writes is basically just that: rubbish, period. Kudos to MICA for coming down hard on him. That will deter other potential trouble makers.

hi anonymous,

we are all entitled to our opinion and so does mr brown and mica.

as spectators we can always look at things or events from different angles and can agree or disagree with what others said.

who is right? it is all a matter of opinion and of course power play.

who is right ? the one who wields the levers of power, of course. if the pwers that be are RIGHT and there can only be one RIGHT, then that would make mr brown et al WRONG. very simple deduction indeed. :)

what an enlightening thought.

poor mr brown.

brown's predicament is brought upon by himself. i certainly find no reason to feel sorry or pity him. who does he think he is ? a column in a mainstream newspaper does not give him the right to make insinuations and publish falsehood.

redbean said...

i don't think brown was publishing falsehood. he was looking at a different segment of the society.

just like the 4 million smiles. some will not smile, some cannot smile, some forced to smile, some smile cynically, some smile without knowing why or for no reasons. all the different reasons.

Anonymous said...

He was looking at that segment to the exclusion of the rest of the population hence making it appear that as if the segment he was focusing on was the dominant one. That is falsehood in my books.

it is just the way people deals with problems. when people talk about social problems, cost of living problems, they are only focussing on those who are affected and not those who aren't.

can't say that he is deliberate in that sense.

Not giving the full picture can also be called half-truths, and last I checked, half-truths are even worse than lies.

how often are the full picture been told or reported in the media? in that case, the media is telling the worst of lies daily. so are govt leaders of the world.

in the case of wmd in iraq, it is white lie. not even half truth.

Yes, everyone knows that but it still doesn't make brown right.
