SINGAPORE — The Ministry of Manpower (MOM) has placed another 47 employers on the Fair Consideration Framework (FCF) watch list for potentially discriminatory hiring practices....

MOM said that the employers were put on the watch list because of their exceptionally high shares of foreign professionals, managers, executives and technicians (PMETs) when compared to their industry peers....

Of the 47 employers added to the watch list, 30 are in financial services and professional services sectors. The other 17 are in a variety of sectors, such as administrative and support services, manufacturing and education.

Collectively, these companies hire about 2,000 EP holders and more than 2,800 local PMETs.(How many of the locals are Singaporeans? What is the painful truth?)

MOM said that all 30 of the financial and professional services employers have a “high concentration of PMETs from single nationalities”.

For instance, in one wealth management firm, almost three-quarters of its PMETs are of the same nationality.

“We will subject their hiring to closer scrutiny to ensure that there is no nationality bias against locals, which is unacceptable and not in line with fair, merit-based hiring,” said MOM.

The ministry added that another 240 firms were identified through data analytics for possible pre-selection of foreigners or not adhering to the spirit of the job advertising requirement under the framework, and will be further investigated. Yahoo News

These discriminatory practices against Singaporeans have been going on for decades and only now they are talking tough about it, talking only. How many thousands of Singaporeans have lost their jobs because of these crimes committed against Singaporeans right under the nose of MOM? How many Singaporean families have lost their main breadwinners and their children suffered for it? How many Singaporean young graduates lost their minds, gone insane, lost confidence in themselves because of this neglect to look after the interest of Singaporeans while these foreigners committed crimes against our citizens? Who have sold out Singaporeans to foreigners?

Shall I say serve them right for voting for the wrong people to serve foreigners instead of Singaporeans? The damage is irrecoverable, irreparable. The pain and angst of daft Singaporeans are uncalled for. And it affects the whole families and relations. Why must Singaporeans suffered such injustice and unfair practices in their home country? Why sacrifice and serve NS?

Just got notification that a foreigner in my company is the new GM of a new department. Out of the 4 other teams I work with, only HR has a local manager. In my own team of 7, I am the only Singaporean. Have only been working for 4 years but I feel like grads my age and younger really have a bleak future ahead of us, further dampened by the Covid-19 crisis.

It’s not about working harder, longer or cheaper. It’s about not having protection from the very own government who is supposed to protect our livelihoods. The government claims that it is those jobs that Singaporeans do not want to do which are replaced by foreigners. They claim that it is those tech-specific jobs that Singaporeans cannot do.

Really? You mean no Singaporean in my company would love to be the GM of a new department? You mean that all the young students in polytechnics and universities cannot be trained to have tech skills for a digital Singapore?

Then what the hell are schools for? To create subordinates for our foreign managers?

As a young member in the workforce, I feel oppressed, suffocated and angry. Vote opposition. I really can’t stand this anymore!

TikTok - American thuggery and daylight robbery

China will not accept US 'theft' of TikTok: China Daily

BEIJING: The United States' "bullying" of Chinese tech companies was a consequence of Washington's zero-sum vision of "American first" and left China no choice but "submission or mortal combat in the tech realm", the state-backed paper said in an editorial.

China had "plenty of ways to respond if the administration carries out its planned smash and grab", it added.

Microsoft said on Monday (Aug 3) it was in talks with ByteDance to buy parts of TikTok after US President Donald Trump reversed course on a plan to ban the app on national security grounds and gave the firms 45 days to strike a deal.

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said over the weekend that Trump would take action shortly against Chinese software companies that shared user data with the Chinese government. CNA

Trump's banning of TikTok and forcing it to sell to American companies and with the US govt taking a cut is outright thuggery and daylight robbery under whatever fake and fabricated excuses.  It is a violation WTO practices and rule of law. This is America behaving like an outlaw and is a very bad precedent being set for the rest of the world.  If this kind of gangsterism is acceptable as legal international practice, that all rules of law will break down and countries can do as they like to steal or rob companies doing business in the respective outlaw countries like the USA.

The Americans must abide by the rule of law, by WTO practices. Gangsterism and thuggery have no place in international business and trade practices. This outrageous act of the American President must be condemned worldwide. Otherwise no country is safe to do business in the USA.

This is like doing  a George Floyd in business practices with Trump doing the kneeling and suffocating a business organisation to death.

What would the Americans do if China target an American company and do the same, forced it to sell to another China company and take a cut? This daylight robbery is worse than stealing with no sense of guilt or shame or right and wrong.

The evil Americans are lawless, bullying and threatening every country with wars and sanctions. While bragging about rule of law and respecting international agreements, they are breaking every international agreements you can find, breaking and tearing away international agreements. They cheated, they lied, to invade countries, conduct regime change, assassinations of other national leaders.

Now which silly national leaders still believe America is a rule of law country and respecting international agreements and peace loving? Any leaders that still believe in these nonsense must be sent to the IMH.

The latest, breaking their agreement to recognise only one China and sending their Health Secretary to visit Taiwan. A break in diplomatic relationship between the USA and China is on the card, and war is a real possibility according to PM Morrison of Australia. The number One warmonger is dead bent to start a war with China. Let's see who would laugh last.  Trump is desperate and would do anything to stay in the White House. Being evicted would mean years behind bars.

The world has become a very dangerous place with so many bad, mad and evil men in the White House. Pray the invisible hand will take Trump and Pompeo down before they did more harm to innocent lives all over the world and to American boys and girls he is going to kill in new wars in Europe and South China Sea.

Does Singapore need NS and a big army?

Historically a country needs a strong army to protect itself and its people from foreign invaders. Every country protects its territory and people from outside forces so that its people can live a better life. Singapore built a very strong army(inclusive of air force and navy) for exactly the same purpose, to keep foreigners out from our little piece of rock. However, this concept of keeping foreigners out seems to be an outdated thinking.  Singapore now is well known for an open leg immigration policy, to bring in as many foreigners as possible into the country, with some floating the idea of having a population of 10m or more.  As it is today, there are more foreigners in the island than Singaporeans with many foreigners given citizenship freely.

With such a change in the thinking, with a liberal policy of sharing the island and its wealth freely with foreigners, the concept of protecting the island from foreigners is no longer valid. With more than 50 per cent of the population being foreigners, it is as good as the foreigners taking half of the island and everything Singapore has, including a share of the reserves and assets.

This calls for a rethink in having a big army when there is no enemy to protect and keep out.  Everyone is friend and potential citizen, new Singaporeans. So, is there still a need for a strong army and National Service? If this is the direction Singapore is heading, abolishing NS and the army is a natural thing to do. Why spend so much money, a huge defence budget for nothing when there is no foreigners to keep out?  Singapore actually wants the foreigners to be in.

The advantages of not having a strong army and not having NS are tremendous. No need for a defence budget, no need to have so many ministers of defence and minister of states for defence, no need to buy expensive military toys and to upkeep them. At best Singapore only needs a few F35s to show off and for National Day Parade. No need so many military camps and air bases and naval bases, no need expensive training overseas.  And all the able men and women can be deployed into the industries to be productive. All the land saved can be used to build more flats to sell to foreigners or to build shopping complexes.

And Singapore can solve the problems of the two white elephants in the making. The Covid19 Pandemic is destroying the air travelling industry. Air travel is not going to be the same any more. Even Terminal 4 is going to be under utilised, not counting Terminal 5 going to be like a cemetery.  How to save some money by making the two terminals, maybe even 3 terminals useful again?

Think Djibouti. Djibouti has turned itself into a rentier country, collecting rent by leasing its land to any country that wants to put its military bases there. The 2/3 terminals can be rented to the USA and China or India and collect rent. This goes the same as Tuas Terminal, another white elephant in the making with China planning to by pass Singapore altogether and working to cut across the Isthmus of Kra.  Thanks to our pro American policy and inviting this rogue country to threaten China.

By subletting part of Tuas to China as a naval base, China would then not feel threatened by the Americans, and no need to cut the Kra to build a canal. Its merchant ships can then return to Singapore freely and Singapore's port facilities need not be mothballed. The two white elephants in airport terminals and Tuas Port would thus be made useful again. Can sublet the Istana also, to the super rich. Everything can go if the price is right.

And there is no need to keep building homes like crazy to sell to foreigners. Just turn them into military bases and lease them out. After all, all are welcome. Singapore belongs to everyone here. And Singapore would be prosperous forever and ministers can even be paid tens of millions with all the rents collected and money saved from having a big army. No foreign country would dare to invade Singapore, no reason to as all is welcome here, even if they do, the big powers with their bases here would do the defending.

This must be a crazy win, win, win idea for all. Caveat, cost of living would be extremely high and Singaporeans that cannot afford to stay here can move to Batam, Bintan or JB, if Malaysia and Indonesia don't mind accepting them, if they don't mind having open leg immigration policy that is free for all.

Whew, I am so brilliant.

Singapore can become the first global city, free for all to come. Singaporeans can call themselves global citizens, only believeable inside Singapore global city as no country would be silly enough to allow citizens of other countries to enter their country freely, not even global citizens of Singapore.  But this is Uniquely Singapore at its best. It is called creativity and innovative thinking or disruptive thinking, disrupting the lives of daft Singaporeans.

Mad and evil men in the White House

Donald Trump has lashed out at Dr Deborah Birx, the White House Coronavirus Response Coordinator, for the first time, calling her response to criticism "pathetic" after she admitted that the coronavirus was widespread throughout the US.

The president said House Speaker Nancy Pelosi had criticised Dr Birx because she was "too positive" about the US coronavirus response.

"So Crazy Nancy Pelosi said horrible things about Dr Deborah Birx, going after her because she was too positive on the very good job we are doing on combatting the China Virus, including Vaccines & Therapeutics," Mr Trump tweeted. "In order to counter Nancy, Deborah took the bait & hit us. Pathetic!"

The "horrible things" Mr Trump is referencing are comments Ms Pelosi allegedly made to White House Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin and White House Chief of Staff Mark Meadows during a meeting last week.  Yahoo News

Having an evil man in Pompeo strutting around in the White House is already bad enough. Now the silly clown is jumping around like a mad man, attacking anyone that disagreed with him, foreigners or Americans, including his immediate staff. Donald Trump is not just a clown, but a silly and mad one. He should be put into a mad house and locked up for good.

This silly clown is the best proof that democracy is bad, a very bad political system that allowed mad, insane, silly, evil and wicked people to be elected as national leaders.  In democracy, especially the American style, as long as one has the money to pave the way, any idiots, crooks, prostitutes, pimps, cheats, liars etc etc, men or women of ill repute, can be elected to the White House or as governors, senators, congress men.

This is what is happening in the USA, in the White House, in Congress and the Senate.  And the unscrupulous Americans want the world to adopt this system of madness. Look at Trump, calling the Speaker of the House crazy, calling the next President of the USA as Sleepy Joe, lashing out at his medical expert for saying the medically correct thing. All Trump wants is lies and more lies, to lie to the Americans and the people of the world. This is what a thug looks like, and a very silly and mad one.

A very clever way to create more high paying jobs with big titles

When I just arrived in China donkey years ago, a Chinese policeman told me a joke about how a government department has staff that are from one big happy family and close friends and relatives from the same village.

It appears that a friend of his just got promoted to a quite senior position in a government agency.

What happened was that hypothetically, this new senior official created a new post of Manager for his brother to be in charge of all the toilets in the building, there were 8 toilets.

This manager brother then went on to create 8 more posts for his wife, sons, close friends, and relatives to assist him as assistant managers of toilets, each assistant in charge of 1 toilet.

Then these assistant managers went on to employ deputy assistant managers, team leaders, senior toilet cleaners, assistant senior toilet cleaners, toilet cleaners, and assistant toilet cleaners.

When it comes to doing the real work, only 16 assistant toilet cleaners were cleaning the toilets daily while the rest of the “management staff” were either at home, on holiday, sexing with their mistress or playing mahjong.

In the end, that government department was practically feeding the entire village.

The above comments were posted in the TRE.  I think this is a brilliant idea to create high value jobs with big titles so that more people can be paid highly and be very happy. There is no need to worry about money as the money comes from Ah Kong. Can use Ah Kong's money to buy loyalty also.

Singapore can really learn from the above and use the clever ideas to create more jobs for Singaporeans and make more Singaporeans very happy, getting big titles, getting big fat pay, and doing nothing.
