60 good men and women

To start with, 60 good men and women may be enough to present themselves as a credible political alternative. And it is not difficult to find 60 of them in this little island. There are many highly trained professionals and successful people available to form the core for a good alternative party. There are many who have made a name in the industries and are financially independent to be free from any kinds of threats, including those who are supposed to have retired. If these men/women would to offer themselves seriously to the people, and play the political game correctly, they may stand a chance. For it is not easy to run down 60 good men and women at one go with frivolous accusations. Any wrong move would antagonise the families, relations, friends and associates of these 60 people. And being successful people in their own right, they will have a fairly wide network to fall back on. And they could finance their own political battle or be able to canvass for funds to support their political cause. It is quite easy when the time is ripe for true leaders to appear to lead the nation for a better tomorrow.

I posted this in response to a post by Prince in my forum. Prince was saying that it would be a waste of time for Jeyaratnam to form a new party. and i agree.

forming a party is easy. running as an independent like chaim is easy. but to make a real impact, you need to come out really strong, for people to know that there is a group of people, serious people, that can make a real difference.

redbean has a blog and forum, which means he is not interested in running in an election. you cannot say so many nonsensical things in a blog or forum and think that people cannot turn and twist the info against you. you need to keep yourself as clean as a priest or an angel to go into politics. or else all your skeletons will be on display : )

but with so much money at stake, many opportunitists are saying out loud that it is a good tikam. adventurism is encouraged. many people are looking at our politics like another casino. winners take all.

this is a bigger ir with better odds. and the return is very rewarding.

to enter politics, one must go in with a credible force. cannot anyhow grab a team and expect a miracle.

whoever wants to do it must do it well from the word go. can't just set up a party and waiting for people to come on board. it will soon be swarmed by all the unknown forces. chiam had a taste of it. so did jeya.

Let us know when you intend to swarm the elections n we will follow up from behind

Redbean dun beat round the bush, just tell us when your credible force is ready and we will be right behind u

anonymous,

obviously you did not read my posts and neither do you under our political culture. you do not enter politics unless you are whiter than white. i read politics and i knew a fair bit about the going ons.

i grew out from the gutters, not pedigree. so better stay clear. unless i bathe myself with sulphuric acid: )

redbean why you think i didnt read your posts? it is precisely from your posts that i thought you got helicopter vision and good material to stand up. who says people who make mistakes cannot enter/ remain in politics? think again. as long as it is honest mistake you are alright. we are very short of talents, if everybody think like you then mati lah. Havent we given you enuff materials here to form your manifestos??

This is serious. The seeds of revolution have been planted.

thank you anonymous,

it is precisely that i am seeing the whole picture that going into politics is not an option. remember the last hero or more heroes. there can be one hero less without me being one: )

a revolution is not a tea party.

we have a good system and it will be a tragedy to ruin it. any political party that really thinks that it can offer the people an alternative must first be able to bring, like i suggested, at least 60 good men together. if not, it is a waste of time.

if they cannot convince 60 men, they will not be able to convince the populace.
