the hypocrisy of asean

How far will ASEAN walk down the road of hypocrisy? After putting so much pressure on Myanmar to respect human rights and democratic processes and institutions, ASEAN did not breathe a single word about the coup in Thailand which brought down a democratically elected govt. And all the ASEAN leaders quickly sent congratulatory messages to the new govt installed by the military junta. How coup ASEAN stand up to face the world and said it is defending the democratic institution? Myanmar should now be applauded as the role model of what ASEAN countries should be, ruled by the military. With Thailand now another military regime, who is next? Phillippines, Indonesia,...? Singapore will become another military regime if the opposition will to win the election. It will be exciting to see ASEAN as an association of military run countries.

Aiya... No waste your time lah...
Of the region, Thailand would have the best relations with others compare to others.

Indonesian President... where he comes from? Military...

Myanmar... Military...

Arroyo has to be respectful of...? Military.

Vietnam...? Military.

Malaysia...? Bo-chap, cos too busy.

Cambodia... you know lah...

So how? Only the smallest player many nations perceived as arrogant is shutting foul... and that's after it stood on the side of the ousted Thaksin...

This is real politics, Reddie... not ideology...

Hypocrisy is the ball game of politicians, redbean. Take off those rose-tinted blinkers and see the world in all its gory.

No, you're still living in a Alice in Wonderland-world where politicians are actually say what they mean and keep their promises, where governments act in the best interests of the people who voted them in. That doesn't happen in the real world.

even when we know that the truth is far from the truth, we also know that politicians will make promises during election time.

even if we know that all promises may not be fulfilled, it is still important to remind politicians of their empty promises.

it may be banging your head against a wall. but it will also pull out all the hypocricies for display.

The hypocrites are on display everytime there is a "Today in Parliament" segment after prime time news. You really think they give a damn ? I wouldn't too if I was paid a handsome sum to talk cock sing song all day for a few weeks every few months.
