Now we are seeing Trump being cornered with his boasting about settling the Ukraine War within 24 hours of him taking office. Today is his fourth day in office and Trump is having to crack his head to wriggle his way out. We know, and Trump knows that a 24-hour peace settlement is an impossibility and just a fantasy that only Trump can think of. But perhaps with his bullshitting and conman experience, having conned others to believe in his integrity after six bankruptcies, Trump still believes he has what it takes to carry out another massive con job.
Trump is not even aware what Putin wants in Ukraine and goes on to promote himself as if he is Almighty God and able to do a miracle, bringing an end to the three-year war.
Looking at Trump sitting at his table on Channel News American, with dozens of 'Executive Orders' covering his table, waiting for his signature, I would think he might be having a whale of a time signing them and gloating - 'Sign baby sign'. It is just ink and paper only, LOL.
Now it looks like Trump is cooking up another distraction to cover his earlier boast, which is trying to coerce Putin into allowing NATO troops to move closer to Moscow in Ukraine. That is precisely what Putin is against. By threatening more sanctions hoping to make Putin agree, the Russians are practically telling Trump to bring it on. What can the USA do about tariffs when Russia is not selling to the USA? Russia is already decoupled from the USA!
What other more harmful sanctions can Trump think of that have not already been used against Russia? What the USA and the West wanted to seize from Russia have already been seized. And the rest of the world have been given a valuable stark lesson in trusting the USA and the Europeans and the consequence thereof.
The USA and EU are practically scraping the bottom of the barrel to find any more meaningful sanctions left to use against Russia. They probably have now to resort to fabricating measure just like in Iraq to turn global opinion against Russia, which is no longer going to work. The rest of the world have learnt a bitter lesson - Once bitten, twice shy.
