TRE banning redbean from accessing

Hi TRE, what is happening? I tried to access your site for some reading this morning and found my IP being banned. While your site is reposting my articles, I have rarely made any comments on your site, maybe not more than 5 in all, and all neutral comments, if I can remember.

Must be something funny right? April 1st is more than a week past. You don't have a change of editorial team or administrator for your site I hope.

Aiyo.Mr Bean.Good Friday. What is all this banning about and is it so serious about being banned?I once have difficulty gaining access to your site too but I believe its not your intention to ban me.Even if I am banned,is it so serious?Just dun visit lah.
Just like I am not welcome to someone's house and I question why he dun allow me to visit him.Very funny right.
I visit blog to show my support for those who write long stories and it is an encouragement to him.But if one write long stories and he feel good with no response than just ignore the blog.

IMO, a blog inviting comments and only wish to hear favourable views or need private setting is not a site that I will continue to visit. My view also worth money and time hor.

to sum up - all of you are in partisan politics in S'pore.

Hi Agongkia,

TRE will not ban me as I have hardly posted any comments there. And they are quite happy to post my articles in their site. Something fishy going on.

Or could be some genuine error or new moderator.

To be in partisan politics, one must be in one camp. Most bloggers are just Sinkies, talking about our country and when they see things they are not happy about, they just let go. This is not partisan but being concerned about our country.

If all Sinkies just don't say anything, this country would have been sold long ago.

Great! Some empirical data -- finally. Now I can construct some hypotheses.

Hypotheses:

1 & 2 >> could be some genuine error or new moderator. < Yes this is possible

3 When you say "your IP" is it yours or your office's or the IP of your corporation's network?

4 Someone could have spoofed your IP, gone to the TRE site and behaved badly on purpose for the goal of getting their spoofed IP (yours) BANNED

5 Someone could have used your IP to mount a DoS attack on the TRE

6 Some unauthorised user(s) are logged into your system and creating mischief

...etc

The PAP's obsession with one-party-forever-and-ever has, over the years driven the good folks of Singapore crazy, such that an increasing number of them will turn away from BD** Lee and go for an alternative...any alternative.

The move is driven by fear, frustration and anger, not by anything rational.

Therefore the present Singapore socio-political is "partisan", but not really. If you ask most folks about their political ideology or their IDEAS on political thought and its variants, all you'' get are confused looks, or if they speak it'll be a bunch of unintelligible and unintelligent gobbledygook.

However they are clear about the following:

1. They don't want or like immigrants

2. They don't like free market hard-core competition in the labour market

3. They want their (so-called) money in the CPF accounts with their individual names on it (smoke and mirrors, flim-flam Ponzi scheme)

** BD = Benevolent Dick-tater

True for the older generation.
They have been superbly moulded by the supreme leader.

Not true for the younger generation of Singaporeans.
Most are able to string together a coherent logical political position.

Most of the folks making the noises in Blogoland are over fifty in age.

The younger Singaporeans are touring the shopping centres, nite-spots and many are bookworms.

Check the profiles of Bloggers in Sg and You will know much of the young Singaporeans could not be bother about Singapore. Matilah Singapura, who cares.

Hi Redbean, I have same problem and was banned too by my IP but the fault lies with the server.

Get intouch with either Singtel, MI or Starhub and they will help you to reset.

Hope this helps.

Hi Joeyjoey, welcome to the blog.

If Singtel's server is having problem and people's IP becomes a public property and easily got messed up, then Singtel is providing a lousy service or something is seriously wrong with what they are doing.

I will let TRE do its work first.

Matilah, this banned IP is my home IP. There is no reason why TRE would want to ban it. The conspiracy theory is spinning in my head, like you suggested, someone using my IP to f around. And who is that someone? This is not a communist state or is it?

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Eureka! Oh my God, it is unbelieveable!

I am no longer banned from TRE. I can now access TRE without having to do anything. It's a Miracle!

Hi RB

I am also ban from TRE. It seems that my IP address may be used to attack TRE.

I overcome the problem by using a proxy.

It happened to many many TRE Posters lah!

And it's gonna to happen quite frequently, please remember machines are prone to glitches.

Man too are prone to get sick, no?

Ⓜatilah $ingapura⚠️ said...

I think the folks at TRE had better reflect on their paranoia.

Man, talk about kiasu....wtf?

Anonymous said...

Why so easy to get people's IPs? Service provider no responsibility to protect their client's confidentiality?

Anonymous said...

I get banned too because TR is upgrading their server. After that I can access it.

TR forget that April fool day does not last a month, it only last a day. anyway, I expect April Fool Month ...

If your IP address is banned, just turn off the power of your modem for 5 minutes, then on it again. Should fix the problem.

You guys are very creative in solving IP problems. Thanks for the tips.
