Paying foreigners with our money to call us dogs

‘Despite sparking widespread anger among Singaporeans with his offensive remarks on there “being more dogs than humans in Singapore”, NUS PRC scholar Sun Xu remains unrepentant and unapologetic.
When asked about the controversy by a Chinese tabloid, Sun replied nonchalantly without offering a public apology or showing any signs of remorse:
I am only complaining. It is just a small matter and I do not want to blow it up. Anyway, I have already deleted the comment.’

The daft Sinkies have been bitten again, by the dog that it is feeding with the public’s money. How can the Sinkies accept such a situation, giving out money out of our generosity to be called derogatory terms by the recipient?

What is the moral of the story? Are we that dull? Are Sinkies offended?

One of them even spoke on behalf of Singaporeans (disguised) that I felt it's really "too much".

Once upon a time in Shanghai, the foreigners called them "Dogs" and they were similarly banned from entering a club for whites only.

Now, we are being called "Dogs"........

Goes to show you that kindness never bring good endings. Give a dog begeted by a dog a bone and it will turn around to bite you instead.

Bah! It's time we chase all these real two legged dogs out of the country to their commie cages where they rightfully belong!

PAPpy , are dogs too ,oops , typo , I mean ... puppies not PAPpy are dogs too..

Matilah_Singapura said...

I'm confused. What seems to be the problem?

1. Paying foreigners...is this the problem?

or

2. Being called "dogs".

I side with Sun Xu. No one should apologise for their opinion.

However it is alright for redbean -- the man himself -- to use ad hominems to butress his (often weak) points. For e.g. redbean is constantly using "daft Sinkies", I not only find the term offensive, but it is quite inaccurate.

>> What is the moral of the story?

Don't sweat the small stuff.

Anonymous said...

Especially when someone licking your "small stuff" is not complaining.

Anonymous said...

Yeah ... small stuff. Let sleeping dogs lie. Continue to sleep walk sinkies. BTY , Matilah , even our ah gong call us daft , so really the truth cannot be that far off. The reason why it's termed "sinkie" , is not without reason either.

Anonymous said...

There is no need to be shameful or offended by the term sinkie. Most of us who cannot afford to treat singapore like a hotel continue to sink.

Anonymous said...

Prease save the money wasted on the useless scholarship to foreigners and diverted it to improving health care and hospital beds lah , can ? Like that , sinkies feel better with the money spent instead of being called dogs in our own country. Seawiously no eye see.

If this guy came to sinkapoore because he paid millions of dollars to our TOP university and turned around to call our uncles dogs ,.... would we be offended ? yes , but at least we happy to call him a sucker . Now ... who is calling who sucker in this instance ? hmmm? that is the irony.

Anonymous said...

We condemn this guy , means we are actually shooting ourselves in the foot. Better diem diem dun say anything and continue to play dumb. IF not , it only shows how daft sinkies really are.

Throwing money to beggars as charity is ok. But for the beggars to turn around and called you dogs, it is definitely not ok.

For Matilah, you can call him anything, ass or whatever, he would say ok mah.

Anonymous said...

Once bitten twice shy lorr. If last time throw money to a beggar he called me a dog ... I would learn my lesson and throw it into a charity like SPCA. But to continue to throw money to the same beggar ... I think nobody would disagree it would be daft. So translating that to awarding scholarships to the so called bright sparks from overseas..... interesting to note the response / outcome is actually very different horrrr .... why are we called daft sinkies ? It's not without reason , I am sure old man dun make such remarks out of whim and fancies.

Anonymous said...

Sinkies daft because the hokkien say...your mouth slapped with lumpar ji(money)

Anonymous said...

No you didn't throw your money to the beggars or dogs. Other people took your money and went to the beggars and dogs and begged them to take it.

Your money was served on a silver platter, on bended knees, to the beggars and dogs.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

What ever goodwill we have sowed and paid for would have gone to waste on this kind of twits.

His attitude showed that he did not appreciate a little wee bit the money given to him for his education and living expenses.

What a waste of our money.

On a brighter & happier note.

GE 2011 FORCES A BUDGET U-TUN IN 2012.

Suddenly, the Party Against People implements a more "inclusive" budget.

Well Done Opposition Parties.

Your perseverance and solidarity in GE 2011 gave Singaporeans this "inclusive" budget.

Our wise votes have forced the Party Against People to help a lot of needy Singaporeans.

Budget 2012 is the result of Opposition Parties' hard work in GE 2011.

Let's continue voting in more Opposition MPs in GE 2016.

Vote Opposition;
For a more transparent, accountable and caring government.

Yes. Singaporeans, thanks to their monocultural fascism, are indeed dull. I've interacted with Africans, Brits, Indian nationals, China nationals, Filipinos, Americans, Australians, and have to say that 'dull', with reference to confucianised singaporeans is an understatement. Pathologically moronic might be more apt.

That said, you aren't paying these new foreigners with you money. They are also making money for singapore, and hence, contributing to your paycheck as well. That's logic.

If the same thing applied to your grandparents, i don't see why it doesn't apply to these new foreigners.

Anyway, your ancestors and the ancestors of this guy took a shit in the same place didn't they. For all you know, they probably shared the same toilet roll or whatever equivalent they used back then.

And considering the fact that 'native-born' chinese singaporeans did more to ignore and exclude multiculturalism than integrate with it, it would be more accurate to distinguish between 'native born' chinkies (china-bred native born singaporeans) and sinkies (multicultural-bred native born singaporeans) as opposed to taking the latter as inclusive of the former. In that, you and the PRC bloke are more same-same than you and sinkies.

After all, the PRC fellas are as averse to difference as you guys have been for a while, hence, your xenophobia and institutional racism. Pretty hypocritical don't you think.

(a extended version of this comment will be posted at a2ed.com on thursday)

Anyway Chua, despite my aversion to your xenophobia and cultural biases, i have to say that i do not personally dislike you. I think your intentions are good, but your approach is flawed.

ed said...

p.s. to clarify the above....

You can only say what you do if most of these scholars do not stay in singapore to work after their education. From my understanding, they would have to subject to a bond, and hence, we cannot talk about how charitable we are to those whom we sponsor.

Re ed

You should go integrate with a Dalits. But watch out, your high caste buddies with lynch you before your wedding.

Anyway, I am wrong someone. High caste Indians commit 2 million cases of rape every year again dalits.

Its ok to rape them, to marry dalits, no.

Go back home dude. Stop all your racist nonsense.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Hi ed, I detected a deep hatred in you for Chinese in all your writings. What is it that caused you to hate the Chinese so deeply?

As for your comparison of our forefathers and the newcomers, you need to be clear in your thinking as the difference is stark.

Our forefathers came at a time of poverty and risk their lives here to start anew. The newcomers, especially the scholars, were invited and paid to study with all expenses paid. Are you capable of seeing the difference with your blinkers?

To all the confused anons:

Because you haven't "taken care of business " all these years, a bunch of crafty elites stole your cuntry right from under your noses.

I realised this in the 1980s i am as Singaporean as chatek, sepak takhraw, kuti kuti, and the original Old Chang Kee curry puff opposite Rex in Tek Kah, and Polar Cafe in High Street.

However I realised the futility... only after about 10 years after I left. In the time before, I was a staunch defender of my cuntree. Then my cuntree was stolen. From then, to maintain my "position of strength " I changed the former cuntree status to HOTEL.

As a hotel guest, I gladly pay for everything I require. If they fuck up, I then have grounds to seek compensation. Contract law.

Moral of long-winded story: never negotiate from a position of weakness. Always find a position of strength, and conduct all your business from that stance.

The way I see it, most of the bang balls frustration I sense on sites like this is because people are attempting to "deal with issues" from positions of weakness.

Not a good idea.

Matilah, don't underestimate the kpkb in social media. At the moment this is the only effective way to feedback to the govt on how the ground is feeling and the govt can ignore it to its own demise.

The unhappiness and warnings of the people are real. The weak have their own ways of getting their message across, not necessarily a violent revolution.

Anonymous said...

Hahaha.....

jus like to say Matilah Singapura and Redbean are both rite!

A revolution or a man-made atrophy will lead to a similar end with maybe an early recovery if the revolutionaries are able to do a good job.
Anyway, there is no escape from one of them.

Hi ed, you should visit the above site to fan your hatred. There will be many bloggers there to entertain you and chat with you.

Matilah_Singapura said...

redbean, I make my living working with extremely difficult people (assholes actually), and am responsible for "manipulating" people's consciousness (in legal ways of course).

Theefore when you tell me that the social media has got lots of people who kpkb...of course, that is to be expected.

The government -- if it is good government -- rules BY LAW -- not by "popular opinion" which is often so out-to-lunch-with-the-goblins-and-fairies it is -- to quote physicist Wolfgang Pauli -- not even wrong!. i.e. it is so unintelligently and embarrassingly incorrect it doesn't even qualify to be "wrong".

The KPKB you find on the net is largely the opinion of people who are unable to get past their own emotions (mostly negative) and their own cognitive biases. To make matters more "interesting", most of these folks are ARROGANT, and have their pig-headedness empowered by 24/7/365 connection to the net.

So in a way, good governance is learning to filter out most of the useless "noise" on the net -- forums, blogs etc. and ultimately govern BY LAW backed up by people who know what they are talking about deciding on action.

KPKB is important to blow off steam. However just because the steam is being blown off doesn't mean jack-shit.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

Kpkb is one thing. Of course the govt can ignore all the noise. You believe that it is all noise?

A good govt will always have the support of the people. A govt can choose to be a bad govt and demand support from the people. It may work for a while.

Anonymous said...

This guy is scolding all the dogs here. He don't forget our sheep dogs also.

Just letting go steam results in less crowd at IMH and headaches and heartpains in the homes and society.
And also less floating bodies in Bedok Reservoir.

Matilah_Singapura said...

@redbean 147

>> You believe that it is all noise? <

What I believe is irrelevant. I don't run the cuntree ;-)

The cuntree is governed by LAW. That's it. The people have one chance every 5 years to choose their representatives, and they have spoken. Time to be quiet perhaps?

>> A good govt will always have the support of the people.

What shit you talking? Please lah, the hair on my balls are laughing at your ridiculous drug-induced claim.

"Good governance" is often governing the cuntree AGAINST popular opinion. THE ONLY WAY TO GOVERN is according to the constitution administered by the Rule Of Law.

Most of the time, the mob-mentality is completely neurotic and emotional. In the case of present day Singapore, if the govt "gives in" to (mindless) popular opinion and shit-talk on the internet, you can kiss the cuntree goodbye as Singapore will be lower than a Turd Whirled Cuntree within one generation.
