Best advert on TV

Lately there is a very exciting advertisement on TV. I think it is in Channel 8. It goes something like this. A celebrity asking a young girl if it was her boy friend's birthday and whether she needed a birthday gift. Then she recommended her to go to a pawn shop to get some loan for the gift. Given that we are in the midst of the Big Singapore Sale, it sure fits into the spending mood of the shoppers nicely. Now not only they can shop with credit cards, there is also the pawn shops available. Good for the economy. And an attestment to our shopping culture.

Soon kids will be encouraged to take their parents' precious items to the pawn shop so they can buy a new PSP or that new iPhone.

This country is going down the shitter real fast.

What!?

This kind of ad. allowed?

Soon, my grand daughter would be taking my pet dog to the pawnshop to get me a father's day gift.

WTF! what kind of values are we inculcating in the young. Or maybe the "creative" talents have really run out of ideas!

Agreed. We are going down the tube very fast.

It is probably thought to be another good thing for the economy beside gambling. First they encouraged students above 18 to dabble in stocks and shares, apply for credit cards and now encouraging them to pawn their stuff to spend.

Singapore and the lesser mortals will go down the shit tube, but as long as the higher mortals and big businesses can enjoy the good life riding on the miseries of the underprivileged, that is all that matters.

I don't see anything wrong with the advert. This is our culture. Make money and spend money and be happy. No morals to think about.
