singapore, 3rd world country with 1st world pretension...gerrie lim

how could gerrie lim claimed that singapore is a third world country pretending to be first world? didn't he see our splendid world class theatre? even our man in the street, our taxi drivers, have grown very affectionate about it. they embraced it as part of them. they don't call it ass..pla..nay but durian, a pungent smelling fruit that you eat along the road side with your hands and smell for the next three days. our people are cultured from the ground level up. or we have brought the taste of the arts to the people. isn't that first world? and anything the first world have, we have it here. just let us know and we will built one that is bigger, larger, higher, taller, and more expensive. we outdo what the first world countries have. we excelled in sports with a lot of gold medals from our imported sports talents. and we are in the book of guinness world records. our people have climbed the highest mountain, walked the antartic, and now attempting to stay inside a container filled with water for 10 days. these are great feats that we aspired to show to the world that we also can do. the next thing probably will be standing in the sahara desert for 40 days. but we need someone to do it first. then we copy and try to do one day better. of course we are in the first world. and we are also rich enough to start throwing tips at our cab drivers to ensure that they smile and provide us with the best service money can buy. and all these are for real, even if they appear queer. we also boleh.

Agree with this statement by this Gerrie...

...and we should do something about it.

Sadly, I think not even him realize how it should be done.

The underlying issue for a pretence is always a weakness... would the top admit complete weakness over years of great political archievements... ...

Well... That I certainly ain't wanna guess. I only know know personally experiences the many craps in life are real...

Sometimes, we ain't even 3rd world...

hi elfred,

for the young and the masses, anything will do as long as it brings them some attention and a brief moment of pseudo fame. soaking in a tub of water for 10 days, making the longest popiah, shouting the longest yam seh....

if our nation is still at this stage of development, then we still got a long way to go before we are developed,in the mind. but as a gimmick to keep the people busy, well, can't say anything as many people need something to do to get excited about. and what else can people do if sex is no longer interesting?

Relac lah brudder Geri.

S'pore is a fantastic 5 star hotel.

I'm going to enjoy it as long as it exists!

it is ok for people to let go a bit of frustration. i also let go every now and then. fart fart.

Nobody really seems to care no more, it so seems.

When would one come about to champion for our course... Oh, not some XO pretenders.

Power...

The development can go any stage. But the problem is...

Forget it. It's kinda huge corporate, without remuneration package nor golden handshake...

Nor can we stay, nor can we leave.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

elfred,

what are you trying to say? hotel california? can check in but cannot leave!

Elfred said...

Maybe they should consider a good golden handshake... It's really a big wasting of time here, and I ain't prepare to aspire to be another Durai.

Singapore is finished, if the government still sees it as a pink of health in things Singapore and point a finger to anyone claiming otherwise.

Obviously, something huge is wrong... And I am looking quietly at another example in the making.

P0Oor governance... I ain't prepare to hide such remarks, cos it's simply to fat and obvious to hide.

Do something! And do it NOW!

hi elfred,

the world will just go round and round and round. even after a world war the world will pick itself up and rebuild everything.

remember my post about what mahathir said after he retired?

Reddie, there has to be a price for a messed-up.

And there has to be a prize for those who tried to do something.

But of course, provided you do the right things either way.

The world will indeed go on, and be rebuilt, just as one Adrain Lim kena-ed executed and we have the resources to feed him to feed a newborn.

It's hope, Reddie.

It's the people who need the hope and the leaders to give them, and the nation to make the hope materialise.

We can rebuild, then we'd have a chance to choose again. And we'd have a chance to choose something different. And it's a choice time will offer for man to choose to have that choice or not. Everything else is no longer important, for it's just getting worse...

The combination of hope and choice is pretty powerful in the game of politics.

Yeah... politics shouldn't be a game... I know.

whta messed up elfred?

there is no mess up. just a little error in judgement.

as for hope, one week there are 5 times to hope. wed, sat and sun, hope for 4d. mon and thu hope for toto.

hope is powerful. it keeps the hopeless going.

Hahahaha...

Actually, I got hope. Just bought toto for today.

Somebody told me once ( I think last year): Elfred's scrap value is just a tremendous political potential, but of no commercial worth.

So I'm looking for a balance up with cash. :D

Just for humor.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

good for you elfred.

you won't want people to call you hopeless, right?

elfred is hopeless! now you tell them tomorrow you can be a millionaire.

this is what's keeping the poor alive. the opium of the people. now you see how important it gambling to the poor? oops, i mean hope to the poor.

No... I rahter be able to be blessed with ability and luck to make millions... What is political flair worth in this stuckar environment?

Jiang Zi Ya, the infamous chief minister, only have a few years of good lives with such flair. And suffer broken marriage and poverty being great political leader, and lousy businessman...

I should be born earlier or much later. Maybe I'd have my place then.

Chua Chin Leng aka redbean said...

i agree elfred,

flair and ability are nothing compare with luck. gong gong chiat thi kong is better.
