young in pursing the relevant skills that are needed for our past
economy.

Pioneer and Merdeka generations are not as ignorant as what some people seem to think. They supported the lst generation PAP leaders without doubt, but that does not mean they could not see the differences after that, when the 2nd and 3rd generation PAP leaders rose to lead.
Service to their pockets was becoming more on their minds than service to the country. If aspiring leaders go into politics based on what they can get back in rewards, that is a disaster waiting to happen. Most Pioneer and Merdeka generation voters were to end their support of the PAP's later generation, and that is a fact not to be ignored.
The most telling remark that really hurt must be calling those earning less than S$500,000 as mediocre, which is an indirect slap on the faces of the lst Generation Leaders and their children's ego. They earned pittance, and yet willingly served and sacrifice for the good of the country. Are they mediocre? Not by a long shot!

The plot is getting clearer with Ong Beng Seng tied to the Iswaran case.
The fact that even an arrest of Ong Beng Seng by CPIB is called for shows the severity of the case. Instead of asking OBS to go for just a 'lim kopi' session, it is an arrest issued. OBS does have a history of getting into unsavoury positions with his business model before.
