The luxury of printing money from thin air is not without consequences. When demand for US$ fades, it loses value, adds to inflation and creates a vicious cycle. Now, major currencies are strengthening against the US$, and more countries are moving trade away from the US$. The Global South countries have now discovered there is a way provided by BRICS to avoid using the SWIFT system, which is also making sanctions obsolete. Now, there is less fear of the sanctions threat by the USA against BRICS countries doing trade in their own currencies.
