China seems not too ruffled by the threat of more tariffs buying Russian oil. But beneath the calm exterior, China is building more bridges connected to other countries for its exporters rather than concentrating on fighting a rogue regime that cannot be reasoned with. India is now wising up as well.
What is the use of gloating about all those winnings, when less and less is being collected as countries find alternatives for their exports and more is being paid by USA citizens instead of manufacturers in other countries?

My main worry about this tariff is that businessman will use it as an excuse to raise price for consumers. Look at the reason given by miw to raised gst, and after which they announce we have huge budget surplus from previous year. The worst is, voucher wong raised it 2 time, which the business people take it as a cue to raise it even more than the 9% dictated.
Trump is not just pushing India towards Russia. Trump is also pushing India towards China, with Modi said to be visiting Beijing soon. Now, that is a turn up from the books. Trump now wants to impose a 50% tariff against India for buying Russian oil, with China facing the same tariff punishment. India buys 35% of its oil from Russia, and I would say that India will collapse if it does not buy from Russia. It is an existential threat by Trump that India cannot accede to. I think Trump can shout from the rooftop of the White House and nobody is paying any more attention.
India's exports to USA are just a mere US$80 billion. With Modi's visit to China, India's exports to China and vice versa could scale up. Maybe India also wants to buy J10s costing a fraction of a F35 or a Rafale. That would be another turn up from the books.
Having said all that, I think China needs to be careful about what India wants. India's manufacturing, particularly its EV ambitions, still needs rare earth materials from China, which had been crippled after China discovered that rare earth supplies to India have been diverted or resold to defense contractors serving the USA military establishment. After all, India has been proven to be untrustworthy in the past, looking at its behavior in BRICS and SCO. If these two can come together, so much the better for the world.
I always say, India's future lies with BRICS, not the G7 nor the USA. Trump will hang his own grandmother just to satisfy his own agenda, not to talk about sparing India. Anytime he wakes up from the wrong side of bed, India must be careful. Why should India be living life on tenterhooks, not knowing what is coming next from the erratic Trump.

Keep Mouldy at arm's length. Don't trust him.
Trump's reciprocal tariff is a BIG LIE.
If it is reciprocal, then 0 to 0, 10 to 10, 30 to 30.
0 to 10, 10 to 35, 0 to 50 are not reciprocal.
The man does not understand the meaning of reciprocal. He has yet to discover it.
