After being on the other side of the Straits for more than 70 years, and now standing on the iconic Great Wall and singing a patriotic strong, what a feeling...to be back home in the motherland.
Many Taiwanese and overseas Chinese would share the same kind of emotions, that they were also descendants of the Yellow Emperor and could have called China their motherland,祖国. For the Taiwanese, it is only one step needed to return home to the motherland.
What a great feeling to know that one belongs to this great ancient
civilisation, or in some ways connected to this big land, now a big and
prosperous nation state, a super power with super highways and world
class infrastructure, and a happy people, the happiest people in the
world, according to the Gallup Poll. To be Chinese is now something to be proud of. 我是中国人！It seems that some Taiwanese want to become Japanese, some want to become second class whites. Taiwan today is de facto an American colony.
Many Taiwanese must be yearning and hoping to return to the embrace of the motherland, to be called Chinese again, not the pawns of the Americans or Japanese, to be sacrificed against their motherland. And especially for the senior Taiwanese that left the motherland during the civil war, now ageing and with fond memories of home and kinship and families. To return home, to be with families and old friends must be a wish they are hoping to realise in their life time.
Ma Ying-Jeou is giving them hope, showing the way, showing the Taiwanese what it would be like to be Chinese again, and be a part of this great civilisation. Ma Ying-Jeou felt it deeply that he is a Chinese, a
中国人, and he is proud to be a 中国人. Ma is a man on a mission.
In his coming meeting with Xi Jinping, there is this expectation that Ma would be taking a very bold position on the China Taiwan relations that would make a big difference, giving the patriotic Chinese in Taiwan the confidence to stand up and take a stand, and not be misled to become second class Japanese or second class to the whites. The patriotic Chinese in Taiwan need a very strong and brave leader like Ma to save them from war and destruction. No other KMT leaders would dare to talk about reunification. Ma Ying-Jeou would become a national hero in Chinese history, to bring home the lost flock in Taiwan, and to reunite Taiwan with motherland.

In my opinion think the KMT for the last two Presidential Elections, they had used the Wrong Strategy of following the DPP's lure of so called Self Rule or "Independence " to canvass for the younger voters which are brought up in a different scenario of decades of Western democracy and freedom that they wanted this status quo instead of Reunification with China.
Actually the KMT should bravely and boldly proclaimed their need to be reunifed with China as there are millions of the Taiwanese who yearned to be so.
They must cajoled and persuaded the Taiwanese that this is the way that Taiwan could be safe and survive.
Many Taiwanese depended on the Mainland for their businesses.
Also the older generations are also more ready to be part of China as they are actually part of China and their ancestors are there.
Why followed the DPP's mantra of socalled Independence which they knew would NOT materialise.
Be used as a pawn by the Western Barbarians in their Agenda to unstable the Peace.
China, behind them as the Big Mountain to protect them.
Also can be in the Mainland for their jobs and houses and so many benefits.
Xi also promised them like HK and Macau number of years of self rule and by that time, even today's younger generation of straw berries and nuts would be demised by then.
Let the latter generation of their children and grandchildren be easily assimilated into the lives of the PRCs.
By now, they should have realised the ugly faces of the UAssA and their cronies in destroying them for their selfish interests.
Also the Japs backed DPP which had for decades no real benefits and growth economy for them.
KMT must boldly shouted We Are For CHINA!
They be the Ruling Government again.
