Trump awarded himself the Piss Prize for wining trade wars

Trade war and tariffs on China were used to try to collapse China, and both were colossal failures. How could it be called a success when China still chalked up a trade surplus of US$1.2 trillion, thanks to the Global South?

Both the above attempts to do China in were started by Trump - trade war during his first term and tariffs in his present term. Even sanctions against Huawei, with doggies being forced to pull down Huawei infrastructures, fail to destroy Huawei and instead made it stronger. In the EV arena, trying to keep Chinese EVs out of the USA did not help the USA Internal Combustion Engine vehicle manufacturers or ICE vehicle manufacturers (not the ICE agency of goons created by Trump by the way).

Is the USA winning on AI now. The verdict is still out, but China has the great advantage of cheap energy, though lacking in high end hardware but is distinctly catching up. China has in fact now stopped the Nvidia H200 chips from entering the Chinese market, so figure it out.

Energy is a vital factor in AI and data centers, and the USA may try to corner the fossil fuel resources, but building up the infrastructures to produce the energy requirements is far behind China and that is a problem. Even Jensen Huang foresaw the issue. But let the gloating, grandstanding and shouting on dung heaps continue. Reality is always different from fantasy.

The trade war had been ongoing for seven long years, since January 2018. Did China collapse? China just chalked up a US$1.2 trillion trade surplus for 2025, that is giving some countries greenish eye sores. The Chinese have used the seven years since January 2018 to broaden their trade links and open up more markets among countries in the Global South, while Trump and his sidekicks, Scott Bessent and Howard Lutnick, were using the time to brag about tariffs crippling China. Day in and day out both were shouting into the echo-chamber and listening happily to their echoes pretending that all is rosy and going according to plan.

What about the USA side that started the trade war? Did the USA farmers found themselves pushed to the wall, needing Government subsidies? For how long? How many farms have filed for bankruptcy? The USA even had to try to sneak soya bean shipments, using fake Brazilian certificate of origin, to get into China and were caught. What about USA ICE vehicle manufacturers? Are they enjoying themselves after forcing the Dutch doggie pirates to seize Nexperia? Now the Dutch do not know what to do with the Nexperia shell, sending feelers about giving it back to China, which I believe China is no more interested. After all, did not the Dutch Minister of Economic Affairs, Vincent Karremans, boasted that he will do it again? He thinks that the Chinese are foolish enough to get caught a second time.

Chinese Vice Premier, He Lifeng, now at the World Economic Forum in Davos, admitted to the audience about China's trade surplus of US$1.2 trillion, saying that it was not China's objective to aim for gigantic trade surpluses, but achieved them naturally because China was able to sell more to others, while some countries and doggies, that they controlled, were forbidden to sell to China products that China wanted, which could have brought down the trade imbalance. Who created that scenario, and who is now resorting to blaming others for their own foot shooting policies and practices?

I have never heard of someone awarding himself a prize that is extorted from another. This must be a case of 'willing extortion victim' and 'willing extortioner'. They can claim otherwise, but a farce is a farce.
