Xi Trump Meeting - Did Trump get the message?

 For almost 10 months into his second term, Trump was telling the world that he wanted to meet Xi, but was met with total silence. Trump tried all kinds of antics to get Xi's attention but to no avail. He was almost crawling on his knees begging for this meeting. There is no one in the world that Trump would bother to take a second look.

Trump also has very serious business to talk to Xi. Everyone could see how stressed up Trump was when he landed in South Korea, still with no confirmation if Xi would want to meet him. Trump has all the farmers, his core supporters, crying and breathing down his neck. He cannot fail the farmers and needed Xi to buy all the soya beans in storage that will go bad very soon. Trump also has all the chips manufacturers, especially Nvidia, weighing down on him. The chips industry will face a crisis and leading to shutdowns or layoffs if they lose the China market. Then there is the bigger crisis of rare earths that is affecting almost all the tech and engineering businesses and most of all the military industrial complex and suppliers of weapons and hardware to the American armed forces.

Trump must meet Xi at all costs and cannot go home empty handed. He badly needs Xi to say yes to all his problems. 

Xi kept Trump waiting until the eve of the 30 Oct meeting to say yes. The hours and minutes Trump and his team were kept waiting must be nail biting. Can you imagine if Xi were to call off the meeting? Trump flew all the way to South Korea to wait for Xi, without any confirmation from Xi. He was so desperate that he was willing to take the risk of Xi not wanting to see him.

On the other hand Xi was nonchalance, uninterested. China's position to the trade war has been made known to the Americans, will fight to the end. China will decouple from the American economy. Meeting or not meeting Trump is immaterial. China could walk out of the meeting without agreeing to anything. China does not need to buy soya beans from the Americans. In a hostile trade war, China would not mind even to pay more for Brazilian soya beans. China does not need any high end chips from the Americans as well. They are producing their own. China is preparing to decouple and the high tariffs for Chinese goods would not mean much except a lower surplus in its trade with the Americans. 

Xi thus holds 3 Trump cards, pun intended, rare earth, not buying soya beans, not buying high end chips.  Trump really has nothing to offer to Xi other than a military confrontation. If Xi has stood firm, no meeting, or meeting but refused to buy soya beans, refused to buy high end chips, refused to sell rare earths, what is Trump going to do? Going home empty handed after flying all the way to wait for Xi and calling Xi his good friends?

After the meeting, Trump practically got everything he wanted. Xi gave him a big present that he could not dream off without a fight. Trump was so glad that he gave a 12/10 grading for the meeting. Trump can go home and with all the good news for his farmers, chip manufacturers and all the businesses that need rare earths. What Trump offered to Xi in return were nothing, miniscule, that Xi can do without. Lowering of 10% tariff? Xi could have told Trump to keep it. The tariffs were paid by the Americans. Holding back on more sanctions? Xi could have said to Trump, bring them on, China is working towards decoupling and self sufficiency. Nvidia chips? China does not need them anymore. China does not need to buy substandard Nvidia chips. This is the most foolish strategy of Nvidia.

Xi gave Trump a huge present that he could not have dreamt of. Did Trump get the message? Xi is telling Trump, he can be very nice and generous, caveat, if Trump behaves and stop the silly wars. The rare earth is conditional, one year is a trial period. Trump's visit to China in April, 6 months away, can be called off. China can also stop buying soya beans anytime it wants, if Trump continues with his silly wars. The American farmers would not want to mess around with China a second time. They know who butters their bread...China!

Would Trump get the message and reciprocate in kind? Xi will be watching every move of Trump in the following months, and all the deals could be dropped if relations did not improve. If the dimwits in Washington continue to beat their war drums and itching for war with China. China has won the first round with hands down. Just stopping all sales of rare earths would be enough to cripple the American economy and the economies of their allies. 

Cooperation, mutual respect, peaceful coexistence, working for mutual benefits in win win projects and trade are the way to go. Xi told Trump, working together with China could help him to succeed in making America great again. Trump can now have a nice peaceful sleep on his way home. He is very tired and deserved a good rest for working so hard, for taking all the stresses. May Trump have a good rest, sweet dreams and wake up wiser, and know who gave him a helping hand in time of distress, when the world is collapsing on him.

A side distraction. Modi is watching and so are the Europeans. Xi is the most important person that Trump would want to meet and call friend and could really extend a helping hand when in need. Trump is safe for now and can go on dancing and bragging and take on the Democrats with renewed confidence ... and make the world come kissing his ass. Caveat, not Xi.

CIA plotted to assassinate Modi at SCO Summit and to blame China

I came across a video, true or not, about a plot by the CIA to assassinate Modi at the SCO summit in Tianjin in August/September and to blame it on China. The plot was said to be uncovered by the Russians, which Putin relayed to Modi, even providing Modi with rides in his Russian 'tank' for protection. The USA, of course denied the allegations about the CIA plot. But we know there is no smoke without fire.

Worthy of note was that Modi was not present at the ASEAN meeting days ago, instead just addressing the meeting virtually. Malaysia is, to be blunt, not giving the kind of protection as in China for Modi. Modi was trying to avoid Trump to prevent any awkward confrontation. Was Modi being cautious now that a plot is on course to take him out? If the CIA is involved, things are not that simple. Even Duterte knows what the CIA can do to him while he was President of the Philippines and leaning towards China. His words - 'If I survive the CIA' tells the whole story of why he had to back off trying to cement relations with China. He was probably warned and he should be.

Dimwits Dutch and Americans find it too tough to think through a problem...and anyhow shoot

The Netherlands thought that seizing the headquarters of Nexperia in the Netherlands will enable them to control all the chips for the vehicle manufacturing sector in Europe and elsewhere, as was the motive. This was all done under the dictate of the USA, nothing else, just like the pressure exerted on ASML not to sell EUV machines to China.

The irony is that most of the chips made by Nexperia comes not from Nexperia in Netherlands or elsewhere, but from its Nexperia subsidiary in China, which the Chinese Government has now cut off from exporting. What the Netherlands did is a perfect example of cutting the nose to spite the face. It was a disaster in the making that the Europeans are now finding out.

I now want to talk about Mongolia also cutting its nose to spite its face. Mongolia has huge deposits of copper ores and planned to develop them to rewind its economy by opening up the Oyu Tolgoi copper mine to investors. When Mongolia first broached the idea, it specifically insisted that China should have no part to play in the copper mining ventures, a move to please the USA. But globally, no one outside Mongolia was much interested in investing in such a risky venture knowing that Mongolia is totally landlocked with transport infrastructures almost non-existent.

So, in comes Australia's Rio Tinto, hoping to make a killing for the company by selling the copper to China on its mind. It invested several US$ billions into the project. The first shock for Rio Tinto came when the Mongolian Government refused to allow Rio Tinto to run the mines by using cheap Chinese energy. It was to force Rio Tinto to build its own power generating plant, all in all investing about US$15 billion into whole project. The second shock came when the Mongolian Government stipulated that the copper extracted cannot be sold to China. That literally killed off the whole project, as Rio Tinto was all the time leveraging on selling to the Chinese market. These are all hurdles placed by the Mongolian Government just to please the USA. Now the whole project lies idle and the dream of jobs for the Mongolian people smashed.

This is not the only nose cutting job to spite the face made by the Mongolian Government. The oil pipelines supposed to run through Mongolia carrying Russia oil, the Power of Siberia 2 has now skirted Mongolia, which would have enabled Mongolia to earn transit fees for hosting the pipelines. China and Russia felt that Mongolia is too much under USA influence and not trustworthy and may sabotage the project when it is completed. Think of Nord Stream 2 and you will realize the magnitude of the risk.

Anwar dragging ASEAN to kiss Trump's ass

Thanks Anon 10.34 for providing the background of how the credit for the peace deal between Thailand and Cambodia had been hijacked by the USA. Stupid Malaysia is a shame for ASEAN, having to buckle under USA demands.

Now, I also want to talk about Trump raising another 10% added tariffs on Canada, just because Canadians quote Ronald Reagan's speech about tariffs and why it is a bad idea, which rattled Trump. Trump calls the Canadian's side highlighting Reagan's speech to counter the USA tariff measures as a 'fraud'. My goodness, this man-child cannot tolerate people exposing his lies and goes all out to silence them. Canada must not allow itself to be stepped upon and do the right thing.

Having said that, Canada is still a White men's country, and the final outcome may be that it will still support the Anglo-Saxon White clique when the shit hits the fan. The case of Meng Wanzhou is testimony to my thoughts. China must attempt to see the forest from the trees and do what it deems best.

White mice are used in laboratory experiments, but European white mice are being used by the USA as experimental proxies in the war with Russia. The White mice are suffering all the consequences, while the USA is benefitting by monopolizing the sale of oil and gas to the White mice in Europe.

Just like the tariffs on other countries, the people that suffer are the USA consumers, retailers and manufacturers, paying higher prices for the things they need. The irony is not lost that the USA is now even throwing money to help Argentina survive financial crisis to produce soya beans and beef to kill off USA farmers. But Trump is taking issue with China for not buying USA soya beans and corn, not Argentina taking over the sale of soya bean and corn to China. China is at liberty to buy from whomever it chooses, so what did China do wrong?

Having said that, what happened to the USA (or America) first gloating? Saving the farmers should be the priority rather than saving Argentina, right? But beneath the surface, we do not know how the US$40 billion and the resultant kickback is going to be divided among the leeches in Congress.

Now it looks more like Argentina comes first and USA farmers can go bust and their land taken over by big investors in farmland. Forget about those subsidies for temporary pampering purposes, as farmers are not going to survive another season. Moreover, they do not know what else to plant for next season, so might as well close shop.

ASEAN should do as told by the Americans to earn the right to kiss Trump's ass

US media Politico quoted several anonymous US officials as saying that the prerequisite for Trump's attendance at the ASEAN summit was that "the Malaysian government must agree that Trump preside over the signing ceremony of the peace agreement between Cambodia and Thailand during the summit", and China was "excluded from the ceremony activities "，so as to "ensure that the focus is on Trump". Full of good news in America. Trump is making America great again

There is so much good news coming out of the USA. I said only 'good' stuff because I am unable to understand the logic of what is happening. They say that if it is too good to be true, it cannot be true, but maybe I am mistaken.

The USA debt just reached US$38 trillion, good or bad is up to you to make use of your judgement. The USA shutdown is going to break all records for the longest streak ever and I also leave that to your judgement whether that is good or bad. The USA stock market is at record high, despite the abovementioned two events and I cannot understand the logic, so I leave that to you to un-wrangle the mystery. My suspicion is that there is so much money printing to prop up the market to give the semblance of confidence, or there must be a massive volume of money transfers between companies, cross investing in each other just to fuel the record-breaking event. More to come, I am sure.

To add further good news, the USA now has so much rare earth within a year, after an alliance with Australia, that Trump does not know what to do with it. Some countries already have massive amounts of rare earth underground and also do not know what to do with it, so do not misjudge Trump. Just digging up the rare earth from the ground means nothing, only just as good as digging up dirt. What to do with the dirt is another problem. China controls 90% of the processing facilities, so I leave the good news from the USA/Australia rare earth alliance to you to digest. Maybe they can come up with the processing facilities within a year under Trump's guiding hand.

Oh, in case I forget the other 'good' news about the soya bean harvest that is so good that makes USA farmers cry. Never mind, Trump is coming up with a big, beautiful, productive, wonderful, mind-boggling and unheard-of subsidy for the farmers. See, good news is everywhere in the USA. The rest of the world must be overwhelmed and wishing they had Trump as their leader.

China already has little interest in talking to the Europeans, which is why the visit of the German Foreign Minister, Johann Wade Phul, had to be cancelled. Anything made by the rogue USA is suspect and cannot be trusted

Anything made by the USA is suspect. Decades ago, the USA sold decoding machines to allies with backdoors that enabled them to spy on their plans and conversations. China also must have suspected that Nvidia's H20 chips have backdoors and warned Chinese companies from using them.

Even if the ban of high-end chips to China is lifted in future, China must think carefully whether it is worth the risk of relying on USA crafted chips. It is perfectly logical for China to just develop its own high-end chips and stay away from those made by USA and its allies.

If you are just a friendly country of the USA stay away from buying USA fighter jets and defense weapons. It is better to be safe than sorry. If you are an ally, too bad, you are arm twisted, and you have no choice but to follow the doctrine of 'You are either with US or against US'.

When China no longer needs to buy American or western products...fully self sufficient

 The delusional American twits still cannot see or understand that their dominance over the world is declining and shrinking. Their control of world trade is now just a small fraction of what they used to be. China's share of the world trade is now many times bigger than the Americans. Every aggressive sanction or export control by the Americans is self destructing. The twits in Washington are killing the American chips manufacturers that otherwise could bring in huge revenues to America. Nvidia's market share in China is now zero. And this will be the same for other chip manufacturers like Intel, AMD, Qualcomm etc etc. They will face the same fate as Nvidia. Chips are about the only thing that China is still buying in large quantities from America. When this product is out of the trade equation, American trade deficit with China can only go one way, up. 

The Americans are not killing the American companies alone. ASML and now Nexperia are as good as history. The automobile industries in America and Europe too will be history. Who is going to buy antique ICE vehicles when EVs are better and cheaper in every aspect, even in performance? The European giants like VW, Audi, BMW and Mercedes would now need to have joint ventures with Chinese EV makers to survive. Under American pressure not to work with Chinese companies would put an end to these automobile makers faster than normal. The American twits will destroy the European companies and economies in double quick time when they forced the spineless Europeans to go against China.

Other than some aircraft engines that China is still buying for its Comac 919 aircraft, there is nothing of value that China needs from America. Both American aircraft engines and chips would soon be not wanted in China. China will manufacture its own and become self sufficient from the Americans, no more threats or sanctions from the Americans. As for other goods, especially food and agricultural products, oil and gas, China can get them elsewhere, cheaper and better. In a matter of days, China would not need to buy anything from America. Period.

On the contrary, Americans cannot do away with buying from China. America is highly dependent on China for many products, components and parts for manufacturing that only China can offer in greater quantity and quality and in cheaper cost. Trade between China and America would be one way, America buys and China sells. China will then be calling the shot, imposing sanctions and export controls against America if the American gangsters misbehaved. No more cheap and good consumer items, apparel, shoes, household gadgets for America. Walmart and other super marts would have nothing to sell. America making their own, ... good luck to that.

When China is self sufficient, this is coming soon, being forced to expedite by the Washington twits, America can survive on its own, in its own island, making products for its own needs at many times the cost of Chinese products. And they cannot sell to China or to the world, uncompetitive, too expensive and costly. The big chips manufacturers would have no room to grow without the Chinese market to absorb their overcapacity. They can only sell inside America or maybe Europe. On the other hand, China would be selling everything to the whole world at very competitive prices and very good quality.

Europe may have to choose to stick with America and pay through their nose for everything, or join the BRICS camp and sell to the world. Without China's supply chain, Europe cannot make things cheaper than China and would also not be able to sell anything to the rest of the world. And without China, they cannot compete in the American market with the American first policies. Europe will be hung high and dry.

China will flood the world with its overcapacity for all kinds of goods, quality goods at bargain prices to price out American and European goods. The world would be divided, America in isolation or with the European states on one side and the rest of the world on the other. There will be an international trading system led by BRICS when everything will be better and cheaper, free trade among nation states. And there will be another led by the Americans, very expensive products that the world cannot afford to buy, did not want to buy because of their lower quality, a world of the white men amusing themselves in their own fantasies driving their crazy ICE automobiles to pollute the world.

The world will be divided, caveat, the white savages could resort to war to want to take control of the world again, to recolonise the world and have their empires as in the past. A self sufficient China will be a blessing for the rest of the world, with real world peace, free trade, and abundance and better quality of life for all, excluding the white savages.

Lunatic Trump using flimsy excuse to start another Vietnam War in Venezuela

Trump is threatening to invade Venezuela and Colombia, the former for its oil and the latter for its drug production domination. The modus operandi of the USA, now under Trump, is inventing an excuse, hyping it up and doing it all based on fabricated evidence. Give a dog a bad name and then skin it is what Trump is trying to do. While the world knows the drug demonization is, at best, just the imagination of a warped mind, Trump thinks he can just dictate his wishes on others to force them to come to support his actions. Drug smuggling anywhere else in the world does not end up with an invasion by a third country, an act of war, no less.

If that happens, we could see another Vietnam version 2. The USA will get bogged down inside the jungles of Venezuela and Colombia, just like in Vietnam. What is the appetite of the USA going for another war like in Vietnam? On the surface we just see and hear touted military weaknesses on the side of Venezuela and Colombia, the same as in Vietnam, compared to the military might of the USA. Now, however, there is the element of enough rare earth materials to make weapons for the job, unlike in Vietnam.

So, amidst the rhetorics of taking over Canada, Greenland, Mexico and Panama, is this another rehab of the same sick mind of Trump? Of course, Canada, Greenland Mexico and Panama do not carry the stigma of having the reasons for Trump to cook up an excuse to invade openly. The drug issue cooked up by Trump against Venezuela and Colombia.

China buying lesser Russian oil because of sanctions? What a joke!

There is the news that the Chinese Government is cutting back on purchase of Russian oil over the new sanctions on two Russian oil giants put up by the USA against Russia. How credible is that news and how much of a possibility is that happening with such an abrupt move by China against Russian interest?

To put it in perspective, what currencies are China and Russia using in their bilateral oil trade or other businesses? Not in US$ definitely, but in Yuan and Rubles that defy monitoring by the USA. Or to be more transparent, they are predominantly doing barter trade, oil for infrastructure and investments. So, how much oil flows into China are just guesswork, especially through pipelines.

As already sounded out by some analysts, the success of the latest sanctions depends on co-operation of every country buying Russian energy, which we have seen has already been working out fine for them so far against all the earlier sanctions imposed on the buying of Russian energy. To put it in better perspective, even the one's involved in the sanctioning, the EU, is still discreetly buying Russian oil under the table.

If China and Russia can do the oil trade outside the purview of the US$, what about other countries using Yuan to do the same? Which inevitably is again helping de-dollarization, putting another nail in the coffin of the US$ hegemony.

Trump helping Argentines instead of poor American farmers...think of the kickbacks

Let us talk about the issue of Argentina. Trump is even helping fellow conman, Javier Milei of Argentina, to make more money, some of which probably may be flowing back into his and his sycophant's pockets. I could not fathom Trump pouring US$40 billion into economically failing Argentina now, not US$20 billion as originally touted, instead of helping the homeless and struggling peasants at home. Oops sorry, USA has no peasants, all rich oligarchs like J. D. Vance.

This is taxpayer's money, farmer's money and supporter's money. The most ridiculous and bizarre Irony is that this money is going to be helping Argentina to survive, which is realistically enabling Argentina to take over USA farmer's soya bean and beef market in China at the expense of Trump's own base and people. How illogical is that? Can anyone see any other reason besides, should I say, just for the kickbacks of bribes feathering the nest of those that supported the deal? There is perhaps another undisclosed and discreetly reason for letting small farms to collapse, so that the big farming goliath can take over cheap land to expand. Most of the super-rich like Bill Gates are said to be investing heavily in agriculture, so figure that out.

I guess it is a case of making hay while the sun shines for those dictating the policy of the dying empire. When the music stops, it will be so much fun to watch. The best cave features in Lipu, 荔浦, China

 

The caves in Lipu, Guilin are reputed to be the best in China, with a saying that after seeing these caves there is no need to look at other caves. A long walk/climb inside the cave took us about an hour. The highest point is about 16 storeys high. It is quite challenging as each step is cut quite high, can be a foot in height. However, many of the senior tourists were able to complete the journey in their own time, about 2 hours instead of one hour.

On the way out and down, there is an option to strap into a hanging cable seat, costing 40 Rmb, for an easier and faster descend. Every visitor will be given an earphone with running commentary in Chinese or English as they tour the caves. The earphone needs to be returned at the exit.

 Emperor Trump is in Japan to inspect the American military bases and to pat the American soldiers on the back. He is also going to demand Japan to pay more for the military occupation by American forces...to keep Japan under American control. They fly in and out or sail in and out through American air and naval bases that are de facto American territories, not Japanese territories.

The continuing military occupation of Japan by American forces, with more than 100 bases and more than 50,000 American soldiers, is about the best contribution of the Americans to peace in Asia. Following the dropping of two atomic bombs in Nagasaki and Hiroshima, saving a lot of American soldier's lives and the lives of many Koreans and Chinese, the Americans put a lid over the real Yellow Peril threat coming from the wild Japanese military ambition to conquer and rule Asia first, and then the whole world.

Without the two atomic bombs, it is unlikely that the Japanese would surrender so easily and without conditions. The Japanese were still occupying Korea as a colony and the colonisation of China was a work in progress. With 800,000 Japanese soldiers in China and Korea, the arrogant and overconfident Imperial Japanese generals would want to continue their military campaigns in China and Korea. The view that Japan was already thinking of surrendering before the dropping of the atomic bombs might not be the thinking and position of the Japanese Imperial Army.

With 800,000 soldiers, the Japanese could easily continue to occupy Korea and at least consolidate their position in Manchuria. That would make their positions easier to hold against the Chinese forces. In the case of Korea, it was a defeated country and ruling over the Koreans would not be a big problem for the Japanese.

Though the situation today has changed with the Americans using the bases in Japan and South Korea as a threat and launching pad to contain and to invade China if necessary, the main thrust of the American military presence in Japan is to put a leash on the warlike Japanese, to keep them in check and from launching another mischievous adventure of conquest. Even then, the Japanese remilitarisation has made Japan the biggest military power in Asia second only to China.

The American forces in Japan retain the absolute power and control over all Japanese forces. And the Americans are fully aware of what the Japanese military are doing and can kill whatever moves the Japanese may want to make. The supreme military commander of Japan is a position held by the Americans, not the Japanese.

So far, the American control over the warlike Japanese military ambition has held sway for the last 80 years. How long would the Americans be able to keep the leash on Japan is an unknown. With the changes in geopolitical powers and rise of China, the situation is now more complicated, and the Americans would love to use the Japanese as the point man against China in a kinetic war. 

Japan is also marking time, tolerating the American military control and presence against Japanese pride as a former Empire, and if possible, use the Americans against China. Japanese was at the verge of conquering Asia and ruling Asia and does not need to be protected by the Americans. Everyone understood that the American narrative of protecting Japan is as fake as it could be. The only threat against the Japanese is the Americans. The Americans would want to keep Japan as an American colony forever with independence in name only. Other than keeping Japan under check, there is a new mission, to check China as well.

Trump is still lying to himself and his daft supporters

Trump is again counting his chickens before they are hatched, telling the world that he is going to extract a deal with Xi soon over soya beans and rare earth. How soon? China plays the long game - ten years, twenty years is not a problem. The Chinese saying that a gentleman taking revenge ten years down the road is never late.

Trump is now sanctioning two more Russian oil companies, an exercise in futility I would say. This move is even more beneficial for China's manufacturing, cheaper energy to make even cheaper goods for the Global South. Making China greater seems to be the motive of Trump. Trump is still feeling good about himself deluding himself that India is going to buy less oil from Russia without any corresponding response from India. That is just what we call 'mouth talk pleasuring cock'.

What have those tens of thousands of sanctions on Russia achieved? Did Russia collapse? I hope it is not going to need another 25 years to continue adding sanctions using the moon and the sun, the same as hoping for China to collapse over the last 25 years. The saying that what does not kill makes the victim stronger is still in fashion.

The motive of Trump is to monopolize the sale of energy to India and the rest of the world, cutting off Russian exports. On the other hand, the USA can never afford to sell energy to India as cheaply as discounted Russian oil and India knows that. Remember that Trump is backed by big oil, probably a big investor in big oil, is an advocate of fracking, does not recognize climate change and calls it a hoax and is against renewables. Some of the most bizarre examples of his warped mind can be gleaned from his attempts to demonize windmills as killing birds and refusing permits for solar panels and wind energy. Trump, at some earlier stage, even threatened people buying EVs, which directly runs counter to the ambitions of Tesla.

Now, we know the story of why Elon Musk and Trump could never get along with the different mindsets over renewables culminating in the latest withdrawal of subsidies for buyers of EVs, despite the massive contributions Elon Musk made to the Trump re-election campaign. Musk probably thought earlier that his massive donation would allow him to influence the decision of Trump regarding the sale of EVs in the USA. That has all but evaporated

Having said that, the earlier that farmers in the USA realize that subsidies are not going to be around in the longer term nor solve their problems as a move to compensate them for their loss of the Chinese market, the better it is for them to take action now to push the blame to Trump's failed policies against China. The farmer's plight is going to be long term or permanent while the subsidies are just a temporary move to pacify farmer's unhappiness.

Lunatic Trump throwing tantrum about meeting Xi

Right, de-dollarization is the only way and nothing else is going to work. It may take time, but even a mountain can be levelled with time.

Just take the issue of meeting Xi at the APEC summit in South Korea this coming November as an example. Trump had been making unilateral wishes that Xi will meet him for talks at the summit, while Xi has not spoken a word of wanting to meet him or even attending the meeting. He followed up with that by trying to put pressure on Xi by saying it is of no benefit to meet Xi in the face of China's further sanctions on rare earth, which was later retracted. Today, he is sending again changing the script that he may not even meet Xi at the APEC meeting, taking into account the silence of Xi. Perhaps he has begun to realize that Xi is not in favor of meeting him at all. Why make to and from excuses that are untrue, knowing that he has no more cards to play?

Now Trump is putting words in India's mouth by claiming that India has agreed to buy less Russian oil, which India has just kept quiet without having to refute. India just said that India's buying of oil is all about taking care of its own interest. Now perhaps the Indians are smarter than the stupid Europeans, not knowing they are being led by the pipe piper into the sewer by following without question.

All the grandstanding about stopping countries from buying Russian energy is only an agenda hatched by the USA to force countries to buy USA energy, which China has completely cut off now. China's move is a real indication of its desire to decouple from the USA, clear and simple.

The USA's mindset to seize Gaza is no secret. Candace Owen has revealed the plan being hatched long before October 7th, and the words of Jared Kushner on the subject reinforced the reality. Taking out Hamas is just the distraction, while the icing on the cake is the agenda of the USA to control the strip, build up its infrastructure to attract billionaires to invest in waterfront projects. ASEAN flattered Trump's ego by giving him full credits for doing sweet nothing

 Trump took centre stage in the signing of the Peace Agreement between Thailand and Cambodia like he was the real peace maker. This would be something Trump can crow about and to demand for a Nobel Peace Prize next year. All the attention was on Trump with a lot of good words put in by ASEAN leaders on the important role played by Trump, or fictitious role played by Trump in securing this Peace Agreement.

Everyone in ASEAN knows how much work Anwar and Malaysia had put in to bring the Thais and Cambodians together, to put aside their difference to return to peace in their borders. Many meetings and phone calls were made in the process.

Similarly, China was a major player in hosting the two parties to meet in Beijing in several rounds of talks to bring about peace between the two countries. The amount of ground works and personnel involved to keep the peace negotiation process is more than just a phone call from across the Pacific Ocean in Washington. Trump did not set foot in the region, the Americans were on the sideline watching, maybe even fanning the conflict between the two adversarial states. Everyone knows who would benefit from the conflict and who would likely be the cause behind the conflict.

ASEAN leaders ware fully aware of the situation and the masterminds behind the conflict. This is the main reason why the Thais and Cambodians were eager to stop the conflict, not wanting to end up as pawns to outside powers and turn the region into another war zone. They also know how Trump is craving for attention and the spotlight and wanted to be seen as a peacemaker. To make this clown happy, they simply played around with him, fooled him into believing that it was all because of Trump that peace return to the Thai Cambodia border. ASEAN has nothing to lose to flatter the ego of Trump and make him happy for a few days. A happy Trump is definitely good for ASEAN even if it is just a hoax. Trump probably knew what was going on but was just as happy with the staged play with him as the main actor getting all the attention. Malaysia and China did all the donkey work for the clown to stand in the spotlight.

It does not take much to make a clown happy and for the clown not to come back and bite them.

Nexperia - Mickey Mouse Netherlands cut its own cock and crashing European car industry

Nexperia/Wingtech produce about 60 billion chips for automobiles annually and is one of the top companies in Netherlands. China saves Nexperia from bankruptcy! The greedy and sneaky Dutch repaid the kindness by robbing the profitable company from China.

The sicko Dutch, thinking that it could simply seize a Chinese company with impunity, has turned this into a major disaster for the European automobile industry with many big companies like VW, BMW and several other manufacturers being major customers of Nexperia. The reckless and primitive behaviour of the Dutch Mickey Mouse is creating a major crisis for several European states, with immediate production stoppages, layoffs and companies facing bankruptcies. China simply halted all export of Nexperia chips in Chinese factories inside China, killing the supply chain immediate.

The affected automobile manufacturers are screaming for help for the continuance of the chips supply chain. Mickey Mouse Dutch is now in damage control and hapless, unable to fix the serious damages it inflicted on the whole European automobile industry, and the loss of jobs of Dutch employees in Nexperia. It is as good as cutting its own cock without thinking, just like a silly Mickey Mouse.

China must stay firm in not exporting the chips until the Dutch govt pays compensation for all the damages and rescinds its hostile grabbing of Nexperia HQ in Netherlands. If no compensation is forthcoming, let the Dutch answer to all the European automobile manufacturers for this silly aggressive act. Let the European manufacturers demand compensation for their losses from the Dutch Mickey Mouse.

The silly act of the Dutch is destroying the credibility of Europe as a safe and attractive region for foreign investments. The trust in Europe is gone for good, exactly like the trust in the USA. Mickey Mouse has little brain and could not learn from the mistakes of the Americans by killing the trust that is vital for foreign countries investments.

Therefore, another pre-emptive strike by Israel followed by the USA is imminent, which is why Trump is so desperate to end the wars in Ukraina and Middle East to pivot to Iran first and then China. However, things are not as simple as that, with Iran now in possession of Chinese weapons to add to its protection. Israel does not have all the cards even during the last conflict against Iran, with the capability of Iran to retaliate and causing massive damage apparently well covered up with very tight censorship.

The USA is in a dilemma supporting two wars with weapons and is desperate to wean itself off to concentrate on Iran and China, with Venezuela in its sight. Every loophole for reselling of rare earth by countries to the USA is being closed up and monitored.

There is now an Alliance formed by the USA as usual to get rare earth extracted to counter China's domination. That is easier said that touted. Without the refining capacity of the Chinese, digging up those practically just dirt from the ground is just like carrying coal to Newcastle without the refining facilities to do the necessary to make them usable.

Indonesia does have some of the refining facilities, but it is a member of BRICS and is closer to China now. Indonesia is buying J10C from China rather than other jets from the West, a move signaling its confidence in leveraging on China's weaponry, without being worried about kill switches. That shows the direction of the country in the world of geopolitics.

Malaysia is another country with refining facilities but again is also a member of BRICS and not a fan of Trump, I am sure. Since the Mahathir era, USA and Malaysia have never seen eye to eye with Israel the stumbling block.

Famous centuries old terrace rice fields in Longsheng龙胜, Guilin

 

Our trip to the mountains of Longsheng to see the centuries old Longji龙脊terraced rice fields carved on the mountain sides was considered quite lucky. We started the journey raining. We were lucky that the rain stopped when we reached the entrance to this attraction. Many batches of tourists who arrived earlier under the rain had departed and they were unlikely to see anything with dark clouds and rain. There were also quite a number of European tourist groups that went earlier. They would have to make another trip for the sight.

The entrance was crowded with many tour groups waiting to take the local buses into the mountain park. We were among the later groups and by the time we set out the rain stopped. We disembarked somewhere mid hill inside the mountain ranges. The sky brightened slightly for us to take a look at the rice terrace with fully ripen rice ready for harvesting. 

The lighting was not idea for photography. After the bus dropped us off, we were on foot to descend down the mountain side. As the hours got by, it got brighter slightly for us to take some photos. We were lucky that at some points there were gaps in between the hazy clouds to let in some light for a few minutes for us to get better pictures.

When we reached our lunch destination, a small village restaurant, it was still dry. While we were having lunch, rain came pouring down again. No more chance to take more photos. We took the bus down the mountain in heavy rain. Yet again, the rain stopped when we finally finished our journey back at the entrance of the site.

How to kill the interest to learn Chinese in schools?

Is it just too hard for kids to learn Chinese in Singapore schools? This mum-of-two explains why she thinks the answer might be yes – and why that bodes ill for young Singaporeans trying to develop a love for their mother tongue. Vivian Teo, CNA

When I read the title of this article, my first impression was that of a non Chinese speaking family struggling with learning Chinese. But when I see the list of Chinese words below, I was dumbfounded. I too could barely read a few words though I could easily get around in China during my travel there. To read and understand these words would mean one is highly proficient in the Chinese language, can write and converse in Mandarin like a native Chinese speaker.  Oops, I think the ordinary native Chinese speakers would also have difficulties knowing and using these words. You need to be a literati in Chinese language to know and understand these words. This is definitely too much for a 15 year old Singaporean, probably doing her O level, a non native speaker, taking the language as a second language.

I agree with the author that this is killing the desire to learn Mandarin. It is not easy for a 15 year old non native speaker in Singapore. Whoever raised the standard of Mandarin teaching in schools here needs to rethink again.  The intent to raise the command of the language is noble but too demanding at this stage. This list of words would floor many students and kill their interest in learning Mandarin. In my view, learning these words would also be too demanding for Higher Chinese at A level.

The standard of Mandarin at O or A level should be appropriate to what a 15 or 17 year old needs to know, to be able to read and write and conduct a decent conversation in Mandarin, not to the extend or level of a native Chinese speaker. There is no comparison between a native Chinese speaker swimming in a Chinese language environment versus a Singaporean in an English language environment.

 

I must say this is a sure way to kill interest in learning Mandarin for good. It is just too much and too demanding and unnecessary. The number of Chinese words and syllabus need to be greatly toned down if MOE wants more students to learn Mandarin as a second language in schools. Many of these words can be acquired at later stage of life when there is a need for them. At O and A levels, do not demand so much from the students. There is no need to know all these words to conduct a decent conversation with the Chinese counterparts, to read the Chinese news. Many of these words are hardly used in the main media, in Chinese newspaper. 

Wanting to raise the standard of knowing Mandarin is one thing, killing the desire to learn the language is another. I would suggest that these words should be learnt at university level for those who want to specialise in the Chinese Language, in Mandarin, to be fluent Mandarin speakers, maybe to work as a translator or doing Chinese majors.

How could this syllabus even be approved for O and A level students is itself a big question. There is no need to know all these words to read and understand the Chinese newspapers. I am really shocked beyond belief. Many native Chinese speakers would also have a hard time reading and knowing these words. Are they really necessary at O and A levels?

European Mickey Mouse states still think they can bully and conquer the world

Now, instead of plundering, which is over, they are resorting to piracy by seizing assets of countries. The seizure of Russian assets was just the beginning. When they are really desperate, they will go for assets of other countries by fabricating National Security issues. There is a new game in town.

NATO vis a vis the EU is scrapping the bottom of the barrel for funding for Ukraine and has taken steps to use those assets seized from Russia to bankroll the war. TACO Trump is now pushing Zelenskyy under the bus by threatening him if he does not go for a truce. Trump threatens one side and then the other, depending on which side of the bed he wakes up from. He is not moving the needle at all, just using rhetoric to make himself look imposing.

Now the Netherlands has gone one step further using a test balloon, by seizing Nexperia, a Chinese chip maker in the country, thinking China will just stand idly by. The retaliation by China is going to be devastating for vehicle manufacturers in Europe.

The fallout is not just about chips for carmakers in Europe. It is a signal to investors that their investments in Europe can be seized by using National Security issues. This is going to be a very big mistake, especially when the EU is facing economic hardship. There are about 13.8 million jobs tied to the vehicles manufacturing sector in Europe which are now in limbo.

China is now going to play hardball with the Dutch, after being badly treated by ASML earlier. This move will realistically kill off the EU vehicle manufacturing sector in the EU, a blessing in disguise from heaven. As many have said before, China will just let the USA and the West self-destruct without having to go to war. The silence of China is something that the West does not fathom, thinking it is a weakness.

Xi telling Trump and Western leaders to grow up

I came across a video of an interview on the site 'Global Insight Hub' during which the guest was John Thornton, the former co-President of Goldman Sachs and Director of Global Leadership Program at Tsinghua University in Beijing, who gave an outstanding piece on Xi Jinping and why Xi is pursuing his present agenda and path for China. Xi had a very difficult time in childhood caught up in the Cultural Revolution of 1966, that coated his desire to lift the Chinese people out of poverty en masse. Xi's thinking is not a flash in the pan, but a long-term approach he harbored, working his way up the hierarchy in the Chinese Communist Party to became Chairman. His background is tempered by his experience during his early difficult years, which has been put into very humanistic terms for his vision for China.

The West never understood the Chinese Communist Party, using it mainly for demonization purposes without looking at the underlying agenda that resulted in the rise of China and how it came to dominate global manufacturing and innovation, that even Western industrialists are awed. The USA and the West never move beyond the thinking of the cold war period harping on Communism being a threat to Democracy, a stand that they never grow out of even today.

China is now telling Trump and Western leaders to grow up and move beyond the restricted and narrow mindset of containing and hampering China's and every country's growth, mainly because China's socialist system is now doing better than the highly touted democratic system. But with the propaganda machine working overtime, China's voice has never been heard or will be heard.

The USA refused to work with China, just obsessed with the mindset of wanting to put China down and out. The USA was even invited to join the BRI earlier, with Xi sounding out John Kerry if I am not mistaken, who returned home with the suggestion, but was shot down by the war hawks in Washington. Of course, how could the USA work with China when the BRI was the brainchild of Xi. It resulted in all the brickbats and demonization thrown against the BRI to sabotage the move. Co-incidentally, India also was invited but refused to join, a doggie following in the footstep of its master.

Trump is bankrolling another war between Pakistan and Afghanistan to give China a headache. Both the latter two countries have good relations with China, and the USA wants to rip them apart. It is all in the USA playbook.

Pakistan is a long-time ally of China, with the former leader Imran Khan an avid admirer of China's progress and poverty eradication success and wants to follow. That was an affront against the glory of democracy, indicating that socialism is working better globally and had perhaps been the impetus for his removal and the installation of a pro-USA leader, Shehbaz Sharif, who is in charge. A regime change that has succeeded without a doubt.

Shehbaz Sharif just visited Washington in late September. We do not know what transpired, but certainly not what is not to be expected. What does a pro-USA stooge do when in Washington never is about sanity or peaceful co-existence.

Trump had gloated earlier about taking back Bagram Military Base from the Taliban, a base he claimed was built by the USA and he wants it back. It was actually built by the Russians and later used by the USA for nefarious activities linked to punishment and torture of prisoners. As we know very well, Trump needs a proxy to do his bidding and starting a new proxy war with Afghanistan. So, here comes Pakistan into the picture. After that meeting in Washington, we know what was agreed, with even Shehbaz Sharif going to the extent of nominating Trump for the Nobel Peace Prize.

China is moving closer in its relations with Afghanistan and the conflict between Pakistan and Afghanistan is testing its divided loyalty towards the two countries. It was undoubtedly a move that was created to sour relations between Pakistan and China.

Breaking News - Trump lynches Starmer, throws Britain under the bus

 Mercurial gangster Trump at his unpredictable best. He condemns Starmer for being disloyal to the USA and harming the special relationship between the two countries. Britain is cut loose and on its own, no more an ally of the Americans.

Starmer now in shock and facing being ousted from his premiership. What could Starmer do to anger Trump to such an extent that Trump is treating him as an enemy and not a friend? The 'has been' empire caretaker must have talked back to Trump in his recent meeting, barking at Trump without knowing that Britain is now a mere Mickey Mouse in international politics. Starmer's barking came out like those from a little poodle, not the lion of the British Empire. 

Trump the megalomaniac did not take kindly of anyone talking back at him, not little Britain for not wanting to take orders from Emperor Trump. This must have infuriated Trump to no ends and in his vindictive best, orchestrated a tidal wave against Starmer. Not only Starmer's position is in jeopardy, the fate of little Britain is also thrown under the bus. The pound fell to its lowest level, all investments to Britain have been halted. All the five eyes partners have distanced themselves from Starmer, leaving him alone, isolated, with no one to turn to, no friends. 

The opposition parties are up in arms to remove Starmer, calling for a vote of no confidence. It is such a cruel blow to Starmer who did not see it happening and did not know that he has little support from his party and the Brits. Very likely Starmer would have to step now in 24 hours.

This is how deadly and fatal are friends to the Americans and to gangster Trump. The moral of the story, stay far, far away from this headless man. No one really knows what he is up to. Think Trump himself too did not know what he would do next.

What a pleasant surprise coming from Trump. And this is only the beginning.

Trade Talks - For what?

 Why is there a necessity to have so many trade talks between the US and China and the rest of the world? The Americans have launched a trade war against the world with one objective, American hegemony. The Americans would set the rules, and the rest would have to follow. The Americans would decide who and what can be traded between nation states and what they cannot do, who they cannot trade with, who they cannot buy or trade with...and more.

Without this trade war when the Americans started to sanction countries, imposed trade controls, blacklisting countries and companies, trade embargoes and isolating countries from the international trading systems, robbing countries of their funds and assets like international gangsters, there will be no need for all the nonsensical trade talks. The Americans are behaving like thugs and bullies, imposing their wills on countries of the world, telling them that the Americans are the international mafia controlling the world. Listen and obey or else.

China and Russia are the two top victims of this American hostility. The American objectives are simple. Destroy the economies of China and Russia, keep them under American control, keep them from growing and expanding, stop them from becoming rich and prosperous, stop them from becoming successful economic and technology powers that supersede the American dominance.

With such outrageous objectives, why would China and Russia want to talk to the Americans? The intent of the Americans is to control and dictate to them, tie their hands and legs, restrict and limit their growth and trading activities with the rest of the world, to keep them poor and better, to destroy their economies.

What does China hope to gain from such trade talks when the agenda is to bring down China, nothing else? Does China really think that they can convince the American gangsters to be nicer to them, to let them grow and develop and be more prosperous than the Americans by talking to the Americans? In the first place, the Americans have attacked China with thousands of sanctions and export controls, blacklisting several thousand of Chinese companies and individuals, banning export of high end products to China to kill China. And still demonising Chinese behaviour when the Americans are the ones that are misbehaving like international gangsters and terrorists, the warmongers, threatening war to destroy China? And China is being badmouthed as the bad guy while suffering under the countless American vicious attacks.

Again, why would China want to continue to talk to the American gangsters when the talks are to destroy China, to control China, to tell China that the American gangsters are the boss, and China must behave as dictated by the Americans, to remain poor, and less developed and less advance than the Americans, to do as told by the Americans or else?

China should wise up and stop all this nonsensical and useless talks with the Americans. China today is no longer a poor and weak country that can be pushed around by the Americans and the West. China should just continue to build up its military might, its economy, science and technology to benefit its people and the world. Chinese should strive to be self sufficient in every field, to the point that China does not need to trade with the Americans or the West. China has the whole Global South countries to trade with. When China does not need to buy/sell to America and the West, there is nothing to talk to the Americans and the West anymore.

China should stop wasting time and effort talking to the enemies that meant harm to China, the evil Americans and the West. Period. Why Trump and the West insist on talking to China? It is their ways of confusing China, threatening China, bullying China and dictating to China. China has no need to waste time and resources in such useless talks with Americans setting the agenda to attack and demean China.

PS. China has confirmed Xi's presence in Seoul. Would Xi still be dragged by Trump into a useless talk to bash him and China? Oh fentanyl! Xi should simply tell Trump it is their own problem, don't drag China into something China is not responsible. No need to engage in this fake issue to make China responsible for America's drug problems.

Anymore ass kissing Trump?

Wonder how the arse kissing is progressing. Seems rather quiet now, after India, Japan and South Korea have said their pieces and did their sums. Trump's mafia tactic of asking for upfront payment for his touted arm-twisted investments from South Korea and Japan has met with outright disdain. Now that US$900 billion gloated investment scam is gone for good.

Only the UK, not unexpected of a poodle, is waxing laurels about the tariff deal with Trump, while the EU is not too committed being already given a lesson earlier after being on the wrong end of the stick. The end of cheap energy from Russia really was a hard pill to swallow and Germany in particular is now in economic ICU.

Slowly, countries are realizing how to come to terms with the tariffs by migrating businesses elsewhere, taking a leaf from the Chinese. China need not have to respond to Trump's boasts, just keeping quiet and looking at the self-destruction going on. As for the penguins, I think it is safe to say that they are taking a leaf from the Chinese by keeping mum. ignorance is bliss. Smart birds!

Doggies sacrificing for USA. China must come down hard on Mickey Mouse

The doggies are really sacrificing themselves for the USA. The Dutch Government just seized control of the Chinese chip maker Nexperia in the Netherlands, which is a very stupid move. China immediately cut off mass shipments of chips from China for Europe's car manufacturers and is putting their car factories out of production. The effect is widely felt in all of Europe, not just the Netherlands. Nexperia only produces mid-level chips for vehicles in big volume, which the Europeans cannot find a substitute at short notice.

The Chinese called the Dutch Government's action an act of piracy, a point that stood out in relation to the behavior of the Dutch in the past of seizing territories that do not belong to them.

The Dutch Government is now more or less begging China for talks on the issue and China is going to roast the Netherlands for sure, if China is to relent to the holding of such talks with the Dutch Government. China is already pissed off with the attitude of ASML over the sanctions imposed on EUV lithography machines and cutting off servicing of those machines already sold to China, which is making China extremely angry. This is the Dutch Government adding further animosity from China and China is all out to extract the pound of flesh from the Dutch Government going forward.

Night life in China's second tier and 5th tier cities, Guangzhou广州 and Yangshou阳朔

 

Above are 3 pics of Guangzhou City in mid Oct, after China's Golden Week. The time was about 6.30pm on a Saturday in Beijing Road. The lower pic is inside a shopping mall. There were people everywhere. The city is so vibrant. Where are the signs of an economy in trouble? The Chinese people are enjoying themselves with their newfound prosperity and a peaceful and safe lifestyle.

The above pics are taken at about 8pm in Yangshou, a 4th or 5th tier city in Guilin, Guangxi province. Taken also after the Golden Week. This is their equivalent of Orchard Road in this little city. The streets were filled with massive crowds relaxing and enjoying themselves on a Saturday evening, about 8pm. Signs of prosperity and people having a good time are everywhere. 

Lower pic is an outdoor dining area where people are enjoying their dinner and drinking their beer. These are proofs that all is well in China, to the disappointment of pro American reporters badmouthing China as an economy in trouble.

Boeing will be history...if the evil Americans use the kill switch one more time

 The story of Boeing, the pride of the USA, is coming to an end. The number of accidents and malfunctions of Boeing planes are increasing and occurring every few other days. The quality of Boeing aircraft is now a big question. Buyers of Boeing aircraft, air travellers flying in Boeing aircraft, are questioning the safety of Boeing planes and their own safety.

Boeing has the greatest number of epic crashes, killing everyone in the planes. Boeing aircraft has mysteriously fallen out of the sky, with pilots unable to control the plane by taking emergency procedures. The aircraft just went out of control and plunged straight into the ground. This is not normal!

The big suspect is the software flying the planes. The second big suspect is the quality of the engineers and technicians building the aircraft. And the deadliest suspect is the kill switch. Kill switches are meant to be used when needed, to kill the aircraft in midair, not by accident or corruption of the software or by malwares. It was developed to curb hijacking in the air after the 911 incident. It has now been used as a deadly weapon against 'enemies', killing innocent civilians as collateral damages. A war crime!

Boeing is now standing at the precipice, awaiting another kill switch to be activated intentionally or unintentionally. One more such incident and no one would want to be near a Boeing aircraft, let alone flying in one. It would abruptly kill the Boeing Story and close the company for good. 

Boeing better pray that no such incident happens again. Better still, remove all the kill switches at once. Then it can focus on the other two problems, substandard software and hardware engineers, and aircraft manufacturing, .... the quality of its engineers and technicians are suspects.

Boeing's survival as an aircraft manufacturer is at a critical juncture. One more time...that is all it needs to kill Boeing for good. Boeing, are you ready to activate the kill switch one more time?

Never discount Trump helping his allies and family to make more money

Never discount the possibility that Trump is helping his allies and family to make more money with his on and off moves. It is something that has not been talked about much, but which he is making use of widely.

With the benefit of insider news that is a no brainer to deny, Trump's allies and family are making a killing on the stock market with his tariffs against China - a 100% threat that resulted in more than US$1.5 trillion dump in the USA stock market signaling a sell being made before the threat and a buy after the crash, and then shouting that the 100% tariff is not sustainable that is to move the stock market skywards signaling a sell. I am sure Trump together with his allies and family just want more of the same and that this on and off thing can continue forever.

Would Trump make moves that are unknown to his allies and family, with his loudmouth and eagerness to make news with his boastfulness carry any clue that his allies and family are ignorant. He has been doing that since taking office, and now even news is emerging with the accusation that his son, Baron Trump, has already made hundreds of millions using insider information.
