How long can American consumers suffer because of the tariffs?

The most ludicrous thing about USA politics is that politicians can get away with any lie they can concoct out of thin air and getting away with it. It really is beyond believe that the US$50 billion has now been touted to be paid by USA importers and not foreign governments nor manufacturers, yet Howard Lutnick is making a song and dance about it. USA Importers will literally have to close shop absorbing those tariffs, so passing them on to USA consumers is going to be the de-facto eventuality. No two ways about that.

How long this charade is going to survive with USA consumers being really so dense as not to feel being sold out by the Trump administration. Of course, they voted for Trump, so they should not be complaining even if Trump just stick it up their arseholes.

Howard Lutnick is counting chickens before they are hatched. Like Trump talking about meeting Xi soon, or next week, or next month, or next year and unable to meet like Joe Biden. Xi is not going to think much about what Trump's pussy mouth (or what Virgo calls CB mouth) can come up with. To Xi, talking to Trump is an exercise in futility.
