For many unvaccinated individuals who find today’s announcement troubling, here is the takeaway: I do support that our country needs to open up and declare the situation from pandemic to endemic. However, we have a government that is practicing endemic for foreigners but pandemic for its citizens, further discriminating and ostracizing the innocent unvaccinated citizens and individuals.
This is why: 1. Unvaccinated cannot dine in hawker centres (not even alone) where hawker centres are a day to day living culture for many. What is the rationale for this policy? Close proximity with a dining partner? If this is so, it shall mean unvaccinated individuals should not be taking any public transport like MRT or public buses because they are jam packed and usually for more than half an hour for most commuters.
2. Unvaccinated cannot enter shopping malls but stand-alone supermarkets are exempted. If the unvaccinated are seen as posing risks to the vaccinated, then such supermarkets will be a haven for the unvaccinated. Hence, in order to protect the vaccinated, should you not ban the vaccinated from visiting these stand-alone supermarkets? Why is there this need to segregate and divide the harmonious community?
3. You close your doors to your unvaccinated citizens (due to so many ostracizing policies removing their very basic rights to live normally) making them stay in a Pandemic situation, but you allow the foreigners quarantine free, practising Endemic. May I ask is this a fair manner in treating your own citizens? You already have a compliant 82%.
4. So it is said vaccines wear off after 6 months and therefore booster shots are recommended. Hence, what is the difference between a person fully vaccinated 6 months ago vs the unvaccinated/partially vaccinated?
5. Government or rather the PM told us not to be alarmed or fear covid-19 and should treat it like a flu. Is this not hyprocritical when there remains further restrictions in the economy and community especially the F&B sector, further tightening our own market when the unvaccinated now cannot be the spenders.
6. When the ministers and PM tell us not to fear and especially with now only the vaccinated can dine in restaurants and go to malls, why is the 2-to-a-table restriction not eased? What is the fear or concern in allowing dining back to pre pandemic days? Preach Endemic, but act Pandemic?
7. Telling us to respect Covid-19? Hello, would you respect your enemy / killer? I know of many who have health problems who cannot be vaccinated; I know of an unvaccinated friend who is just earning a living operating a small store in a shopping mall but with this new further tightening rule (it is not an opening up), she ended up crying because she does not know how to continue to run her store in two days’ time, where she will certainly chalk up more losses during the shop closure. Why is she not vaccinated? She is pregnant and although they say it is safe for pregnant ladies, her concerns to protect her first pregnancy is definitely valid.
It is an opening up in disguise back to what it seems like a 90% circuit breaker, further tightening and constricting our own market by sending our elites and wealthy out of our country spending outside our country, leaving the unaffordables to continue in this struggle and the beauty now is government no longer has to pay relief and help struggling businesses. Brilliant. Vaccination is not by choice in Singapore. Devising it mandatory but Not declaring it mandatory is for obvious reasons. The wisemen know why. Really poor Singaporeans.
PS: And I have one more question: If I stay in a one room flat and tested Covid positive with mild or no symptoms and the direction now is not to visit any hospital but to isolate and recover at home. Obviously, I don’t want to infect my beloved family members. Can I go to either of the MTF’s ministries to look for OYK GKY or LW and seek a solution? A squatter in your bungalow will do.

This sounds like they are saying the fully vaccinated are not spreading the virus and can visit any place, but why still have to restrict the number at two?
Isn't it obvious that fully vaccinated people can still be infected and can still transmit the virus, so what is the difference between a fully vaccinated person and an unvaccinated person entering a mall or restaurant?
What this tells me is we are just clutching at straws like a drowning man.
All infected by the Stupidity has no cure disease but pretending to look well.

The recent restrictive measures and severe discriminations against the unvaccinated - who are mainly oldies and those who cannot take the vaccines, and children under 12 years old, who have no vaccines available for them - are an obvious reflection of people who have study books so much until their brains are filled with shits and incompetence.
It shows:
1. No common sense and making decisions not based on facts but conjectures, hearsays and theories.
2. Making decisions in order to please the Western foreign powers and foreigners but discrimated against own citizens.
3. Making decisions based on the sole objective of reconnecting with other countries for national level economic gains but disregarding the small and medium size local entrepreneurs, restaurants, food courts, hawkers and coffee shops.
4. Making decisions based on the unexpert experts' advice instead of common sense, prudence and wisdom -, the qualities which the leaders seem to be devoid of.
5. Making decisions based on data from other countries with big population and land area, instead of Singapore's own unique position and peculiarities.
It is now getting more unsafe, unstable and dangerous to be living in Singapore. Better start finding an alternative place to reside in. The earlier the better.

I think PM Lee has taken a back seat and allowed all the un-coordinated ideas to be gel together by the MTF in a more cooks spoil the soup manner.
Don't forget that there are destitutes living in streets, make shift tents in the parks. They have very little resources no money, no food, no phones. Can the government help them first instead of the foreigners, it is only bullshitting by saying that nobody would be left behind. Why our press don't ask mtf this type of question. Really waste of time.

Avoidable deaths versus flu-related deaths:
There are roughly 800 flu-associated deaths a year.
If we throw 200-300 old Singaporeans under the bus to die, the figure is still way less than the 800 flu-associated deaths a year. So it's ok we can throw them under the bus to die.
That's their logic !

If anyone deliberately killed a weak and hapless old person, either directly or indirectly, using a knife, a car or a virus, it is a crime, nothing else.
No amount of excuses by using statistics to justify the killing can wash away the crime and the sin.
Karma and/or the descendants of the poor old person who was killed, directly or indirectly, will take revenge on his/her behalf.
Talk is cheap. Wait until the one who was Killed by the virus is you or your parents or grandparents!
MOH and the news media, Today and CNA, all of them have stopped reporting the daily situation on COVID-19 infections in Singapore. This is a very bad indicator.

Government has No Plans to make Vaccination Compulsory?
Time and again the government had assured Singaporeans that it has no plans to make vaccination compulsory. I recall it said that at the beginning of the vaccination programme. In September 2021, it again assured us that this is the case.
So why is the government telling us that from 13 October 2021, unvaccinated people cannot eat their meals at coffeeshops, hawkers’ centres and enter the shopping malls? Have our ministers forgotten their assurances to us? Do they respect Article 12 of our Constitutions which states clearly: “All persons are equal before the law and entitled to the equal protection of the law.” Why this inequality now? Is their policy based on facts?
What is the infection rate in open air coffee shops and hawkers’ centres as compared to airconditioned restaurants, pubs and hotels?
I think we have reached our limits or at least I have. While it is true that we gave ministers the mandate to govern us in whatever way it fancy, I don’t think we have given them the liberty to treat us in such a shabby way. They think they can kick us around because they have the whole arsenal of laws, rules and policies and armies of civil servants to carry out their orders.
This new discriminatory policy affect ordinary Singaporeans who enjoy having meals with friends and neighbours at open air hawkers’ centres and coffeeshops. What is life if we have to be cooped up in small flats? Stepping out of the concrete walls is a necessity. Similarly, stall holders need to sell food and drinks and earn a living. Eating out is different from buying food and taking it home. Can our ministers understand this? Or is it something that they cannot imagine because they only eat in high class restaurants?
Covid-19 affects every person. No one wants to fall sick. People make choices, considered choices. We are not as stupid as our ministers think we are. Stop telling us how many of those who die of Covid or got infected with Covid are vaccinated or not vaccinated. They didn’t report such details in earlier times. Why do they do this now? If vaccinations cannot immunise people from the disease, this latest policy is yet another act of blind desperation to control the deteriorating Covid situation.
This is not the way to treat us.

The last I checked at about 11 pm last night, there was no sign of the usual daily COVID-19 Situation update for Monday 11 Oct 2021.
The report appeared this morning, belated by almost one day.
Perhaps, the MOH Minister had decided not to make any report any more? But the PM called him up and asked why?
Perhaps, the gangho MOH Minister could not convince the PM? Then the PM ordered him to publish the report again.
In Today's belated report on COVID-19 situation in Singapore for 11 Oct, there is an explanation as to why the total cases of casualties has suddenly dropped by more than 1,000 from those in the previous six days.
The reason given was that during the weekend, there were lesser swaps made at various places. Therefore, the number of cases dropped on Sunday and Monday.
My 9 year old son said that he doesn't believe the explanation fully.
He explained, "This is COVID-19 is an emergency situation. That's why the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines were approved for emergency use only."
He said, "During an emergency situation, the government has to know the full picture on the ground every day. So there should be no slacking in the testing of infections, whether its weekend or weekdays."
He added, "Rightly, during weekends the testing should be stepped up, instead of being relaxed, because more people are free to go for the tests!"
I think, perhaps my 9 years old son should be working in the Singapore COVID-19 Experts Committee or be an advisor/consultant to the Multi-Ministry Task Force?
