SINGAPORE — Singapore's current surge in COVID-19 cases came much earlier than authorities had hoped for, said Health Minister Ong Ye Kung on Friday (17 September), a day after the city-state reported 910 new infections – the highest since 1 May last year.
"We had hoped that this transmission wave can come later, maybe at Transition Stage B, but it has presented itself much earlier largely because Delta is so much more infectious," he said during a virtual doorstop interview.
Since 10 August, Singapore is in the first stage – or the Preparatory Stage – of a four-part road map towards endemic COVID-19. This is followed by Transition Stage A, Transition Stage B, and lastly, Covid-19 Resilient Nation.
While this "major wave of transmission" came earlier than expected here, it is inevitable for every country that has decided to live with the virus, said Ong, who is the COVID-19 multi-ministry taskforce co-chair.
"This is almost like a rite of passage before humans and the virus achieve a new equilibrium and things stabilise," he stressed. Yahoo News
This pandemic is the best example of Nature telling man not to be too smart. It started with the evil Americans planting the virus in Wuhan, China, part of the sinister scheme to depopulate the world starting with China, a humanly conceived plan to dominate the world by the white men forever. It greatly backfired, when it was supposed to destroy Asians and coloured men but now tearing apart North America and Europe and losing control over it.
Would this pandemic humble the arrogance of man in trying to play God, to manipulate life on earth, to dictate and shape life on earth to their specifications? Not so easy, man.
Singapore is using the American play book to want to control this virus, oops, to live with the virus after failing to control it. With conflicting interest and challenges, Singapore could choose to control it like China and some countries that had been quite successful in limiting the spread of the virus in the respective countries. Singapore chose the American way, drops its pants and the virus has a free play in all the crevices. Not every country decides to live with the virus.
Only failed western countries are going own this road. Singapore chose to go with the loser countries. and thinking that it is smart enough to control and chart its path at its own terms. Singapore is like telling the virus to toe the line and behave accordingly. The virus did not want to have anything to do with the MTF's master plan.
The wave of transmission came too early, unexpected. The virus did not behave like daft Singaporeans, act only when told or programmed by the govt and threw the whole plan into disarray. Now what?
With the earlier complacency and lapses, the Delta variants have walked into quite freely and God knows how widespread they are without full public testing. Now it is like the genie is out of the bottle and like it or not, the virus is going to live among the Singaporeans. The next arrogant expectation that the virus would stop at 2,000 might prove to be a fleeting moment, too good to believe.
What if the spread goes exponential since no one really knows how widespread is this virus? What happen if it goes to 10,000, 20,000 or more daily and hospitalisation and death become a new normal? Where is the limit to say enough is enough? Is there a possibility of turning back the clock when the number is unbearable?
Even the white gods in USA and Europe are being humbled for thinking this was a child's play. They have everything under control, they could switch on and off as the master mind of this pandemic. And our million dollar super talents outdo the white men to dictate to the virus how to behave and when to behave?
As it is, all things failed in the West in dealing with this virus. Our immortals still think otherwise. They had it all planned, a 4 part road map now looking like a one path downwards spiral.

"We had hoped that this transmission wave can come later, . . ."
The rookie so-full-of-himself Aljunied-reject minister is trying to deal with the already-early-well-known-highly-infectious-Delta-Indian virus pandemic based on HOPE !
His reckless pro-business decisions threatened the well being of vulnerable old people, vaccinated or not - their deaths are merely digits in his calculations. Or as the ST put it, how fast the Singapore economy re-open depends on how high the price they are willing to pay, but here the price is not their lives but other peoples' lives..
How does one advocate living with the virus if one has already threw in the towel after failing to contain it?
That is not even hope. That is wishful thinking. It clearly shows that the Aljunied-Disqualified MP is not fit to be a Minister. Aljunied voters already seen through this guy who has no substance nor care for the wellbeing of the people, 15 years ago that this bo-liao, self-centred, arrogant candidate cannot deliver anything of significance except balls-carrying and talking cock. Going through the backdoor, under the umbrella of a Heavy Weight in order to become a propped up Minister does not speak well of the person. Being kicked like a football from to three different ministries within 2 years is even worse.
Now fumbling with the surge of India Modi's gift of Delta Variant to reward him for making the Pro-India CECA Pact materialized.
How's that for screwing from the back by Modi?
He said the challenge now is the hospital's frontline staff being overwhelmed. Didn't he foresaw all this before his crazy opening legs policy took effect? He asked for it. Now he gets it. We saw this coming the moment he talked about "living with COVID-19 Endemic".
The true challenge now is how to get rid of this arrogant dangerous man from positions of power!
The COVID Pandemic is fatal. The Sin Regime makes it worse for its' People and Others.
Some of the Sin Charlatans deem themselves superior to the People they lord-overand even treat Nature as under their manipulation.
The Day of Reckoning shall make these villians down to their bended knees soon.
This Hell Minister is not talking sense. Just days ago they were saying shortening the isolation period from 14 days to 10 days because the infection takes a shorter time frame to erupt. Does that not indicate to them that Delta is spreading earlier upon contact than the original virus? So what hope is he talking about that the virus will take a longer time to spread?
They think they can play God and forecast how fast or slow the spread will take place? Is he blaming the virus for the fast spread or trying to justify their wrong turn by blaming the virus.
""living with COVID-19 Endemic""
You want to live with Endemic and keep importing corona, fine. Make sure no one wear mask, no quarantine, life as usual. Don't just fill the whole country with corona, and then tell the people you need to quarantine for ten days at our own expenses if one of the family contract virus. PAP govt can't decide whether it is endemic or pandemic, trying to have both side of the world as usual, pretend whole thing as endemic but measurement taken as pandemic ? Serious if they don't know which is which, please get out and stop gambling with people life.
Like LKY, keep defying nature and thinking they are God, and then act blur and say it is unexpected when thing did not go their way. It is like the whole sky turn dark and very windy, and then tell you that they did not expect rain to come.
"They think they can play God and forecast how fast or slow the spread will take place? Is he blaming the virus for the fast spread or trying to justify their wrong turn by blaming the virus."
These PAP buggers are like playing with real fire, and expecting that they will not get burn. And of course they will not get burn, because it is the sinkies that throw into the fire not them. It is throwing sinkies into fire, and these buggers happily remark that "we are okay not hurt by fire."
This Hell Minister was not disqualified, he was 'rejected' by voters of Aljunied. This clearly shows how the wisdom of Hougang voters have spread beyond the Single Ward Constituency to Aljunied and now to Sengkang as well, all immediate neighbouring constituencies. Does that not indicate anything?
You can say the East is looking up to be blue.
Since Singapore had already vaccinated 80% of it's citizens, the majority of the spread must be from those fully vaccinated and the minority must be from those unvaccinated.
Out of a thousand new infections reported over the last two days, about 800 must have come into contact with those fully vaccinated and about 200 from those unvaccinated per day, taking a rough generalisation.
Now that puts a whole new perspective on preventing unvaccinated people from entering certain areas under stick entry protocols. Who really are the more dangerous spreaders may I ask? Does just allowing fully vaccinated people into such places do any good to keep the numbers down or just hearsay.
Correction
Last paragraph: should read....certain areas under strict entry protocols...
Apologies

Singapore is trying to blaze a path to live with COVID19, to show and prove to the world?
Hopefully, Singapore does not get itself blazed to the ground in trying to do so. At more than 80% vaccination threshold, and therefore it is expected to tread a path for others, Singaporeans are being used as laboratory rats to benefit the rest of mankind. For a small country, do we need to do that?
But of course, it is all for economic reasons, right?
If succeed, Ong would be famous globally and historically . .
Oh yeah - heads he becomes famous, tails we Sinkies pay the price.
Don't play play!
He will be your next PM!
Singapore likely to add more countries for quarantine-free entry in coming weeks, months
Vaccinated travellers from more countries are likely able to enter Singapore without having to quarantine "in the coming weeks and months".
This comes after a successful start to the Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL), with only one Covid-19 case detected among some 900 travellers who have come in under the scheme.
Transport Minister S. Iswaran said on Monday that the Republic is actively working to expand the VTL. The scheme started on Sept 8, and is open to Brunei and Germany for a start.
Travellers under this scheme will take up to four Covid-19 polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests, in lieu of a stay-home notice.
Mr Iswaran said the results in the first two weeks have been promising. More than 900 VTL travellers have entered Singapore, and all of them have fully complied with the mandatory testing regime, he said, adding that several countries and regions have expressed interest in opening VTLs with Singapore.
Speaking at a conference held to commemorate the 20-year milestone of the Ministry of Transport, he said the VTL is an important step for everyone involved to understand and adapt to the requirements of reopening safely.
He told reporters on the sidelines of the event that the sole Covid-19 case detected among VTL travellers so far was identified in the test the traveller took upon arrival. "The case was isolated and quarantined... so what it tells us is the system is working and we are gaining confidence with it."
Mr Iswaran said the aviation industry remains "a far cry from where we were". He noted that Changi Airport is operating at 3 per cent of the levels before the Covid-19 pandemic, and Singapore Airlines (SIA), at 4 per cent.
He reiterated that the air hub and connectivity are critical for Singapore's economy, and its reputation as a trusted international hub. "It may take some time for global air travel to normalise, but we will do our utmost to make sure Changi and SIA soar again."
The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore (CAAS) has said that, as at last Thursday, 2,322 travellers vaccinated against Covid-19 had received approval to enter Singapore.
It said that of the vaccinated travel passes issued for Germany, 962 were issued to short-term visitors and the remaining 1,279 to long-term pass holders.
For Brunei, CAAS said it has issued 74 passes to short-term visitors and seven to long-term pass holders.
Singapore cannot survive without connectivity with the world for trade, tourism, banking and food. Therefore it is a rush to open Singapore to the world. VTL with the world is important for GDP growth. PAP knows what is important.
Any virus can come, cos the minister
Themselves not at front line lah!
When the whole population gets infected or are contacts of those affected, everybody has to 'Q' at home, Nobody can go to work. No children can go to school. Essential workers like bus drivers can work but without passengers, essential food outlets can operate but who can go out and buy from them? Is this what we are aiming for when infections go out of control and we live with the virus?
Hail to the Minister for Hell!
As if covid is the only virus on earth,really..simple thinking.
"My daughter who loved to work with the elderies at Nursing Home informed us that one of the residents is tested positive and she with another colleague also tested ART positive and that Organisation insisted that she and her colleague to "Q" at homes.
Not willing to bear any expenses for them to "Q" at Designated places of Hotels.
They are considered as Health front line workers and they just simply pushed away their responsiblties.
Asking them to "Q" at homes to endanger their family members.
What's sorts of Government is this?"
Now you know why the timing of default home quarantine on 15september coincide with closure on online citizen ? This is no coincidence (nothing ever is coincidence in the the land of PAP, everything is orchestrated with timing (diversion, lawsuit everything) , it is prevent online citizen to question on home quarantine, and now you see why people to have critical thinking and free press.
"Q" at home means infect your family members and expose them to risk of DEATH!.
Human comes from simple cell.
Time to starts from simple cell again.
100.0000001% covid will upgrade to fived.G
