The good news - More job losses
Some may take this news negatively, especially when they are going to be hurt badly. From the national point of view, from the employers' point of view, this is good news. There will be more workers available, hungry some more, and they need not have to pay them an arm or a leg to get them. So operating cost will go down. We will become more competitive.
And the residents who are afraid of foreigners, they may see more of them returning home. Then their neighbourhoods will be back to normal.
Singaporeans losing their jobs can go for retraining to become construction workers. And the ladies, maybe can be trained to be domestic maids too.
Think positive.

how about getting trained as croupiers and stock dealers?
croupiers ok. stock dealers? forget it. it is a dying industry unless they fix the flaws in the system.
the amount of money lost by the investors is mind blogging. many many times worst than the minibond fiasco. the problem is that no one knows how to nail the problem and the blame.
Singapore govt doing a good job, supplying money for retraining. Heard on the news today about " upturn the downturn ". Do not undertand that at all. How to turn up when you are down?
Maybe someone can explain.
i think we should bring in david copperfield. at least we can be entertained.
This problem of job losses will cease to exist in a command economy.
By removing money and all forms of a medium of exchange (prohibition under punishment by law), the state will be able to allocate jobs for citizens for their entire life.
For e.g.: If the state determines that you become a manual labourer, that's who you become. If you are to teach, that's who you'll be. Choice of vocation will no longer be necessary under TGC Total Government Control
you are the messiah for a new world mate.
There is a Workers' Party political party in Singapore but the party is powerless in helping to protect workers' rights.

Workers in Singapore are always at the mercy of their capitalist and dictatorial company directors. In good times, the workers are not rewarded well, in bad times, they are discarded.
When workers are retrenched in Singapore, they have no rights to protest. There are no human rights in Singapore. They get no unemployment benefits, even though the government has amass lots of money through taxing the working poor.
In Singapore, good deeds and good work are taken for granted and received no compliments. But when there is one single wrong, the complaints and condemnation is fast and furious from the dissatisfied rich.
The working poor is constantly exploited by the rich till they die. The rich amass huge advantages over the poor and are constantly exercising their advantages to suppress the poor from attaining freedom and becoming rich.
The capitalist government created jobs for the poor as a tool of social and mind control.
The rich hide behind 'screens' to carry out their sordid affairs. Their crimes often go unreported and are covered up by the rich themselves.
However, the rich never hesitate to report any poor persons for breaking the secular laws. The poor are often punished severely. The rich are often not punished severedly.

This is the kind of controlled news in Singapore.
What is reported in the uncritical Singapore news media is only a fraction of what is actually happening in Singapore.
Singapore sucks!

I believe readers in cyberspace are intelligent enough to know:
What are facts?
What are personal views?
What are opinions?
What are figure of speech?
