China must be self reliant on everything
China must be self reliant on everything, and I mean everything. Never, ever rely on the USA, the West or Japan. What the USA and the West are doing to China, especially since Trump became President, is actually a blessing in disguise, as it is forcing the Chinese to go their own way in chip manufacturing as well. It is the push that is making the Chinese move faster, makes them do things better and produce things even cheaper than the West, by making chip manufacturing the priority for China going forward. Who is competing with the USA and the West now in EV, solar panels, car batteries and consumer products? And guess who will be competing with the Chip manufacturers in the USA, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea going forward?
We actually did not stop to realise that the Germans were able to reach the pinnacle of their industrial might, all based on and built upon the availability of cheap energy from Russia. That is one fact that had been trivalised as all the talk is German ingenuity that brought them to being the biggest economy in the EU. Now we are seeing the real picture with Russian cheap energy flowing East. Like the Germans, Chinese ingenuity can also match the Germans and cheap energy from Russia is fueling an even more competitive China than ever before. Can the EU now compete with China, India and others with energy so expensive for Europe?
The USA and the West had attempted to isolate the Chinese in many fields, but have failed to destroy China. Chip sanctioning will be the same. Five years down the road and we shall see the carnage in the chip manufacturing competition in the West, Japan, Taiwan and South Korea, once the Chinese market is no longer available.
Now, there is a joke on social media regarding Macron's China trip. Macron could not visit China without his 'mummy' following him to keep a watch on his movements. The USA told his 'mummy' aka Ursula to go with Macron and keep a watch on him. And she insisted on going with Macron, who could not refuse, unlike what Olaf Scholz did to him when Scholz said no way you are following me. So much talk about EU unity when they do not even trust each other. Macron is said to be the weakest French President ever, totally under the USA's control.
It was later reported that to prevent his 'mummy' spoiling the show, Xi invited Macron to tea without his 'mummy' in tow. And they talked in private, making some important deals that the USA is particularly unhappy with. We know about the Airbus helicopter deal, but one big largely missing on MSM deal, was the US$500 million subsea internet cable to rival the USA. Once this is thrashed out between France and China, China will start the construction and many are saying that this will be completed way ahead of the USA rival project, knowing the Chinese expertise in infrastructure building. The only proviso is whether Macron can hang on long enough or subject to a regime change, in which case a stooge would be installed to kill the project, like the Germans did with Nord Stream 2. China must not be too trusting with Macron anyway. Whites are whites and they have forked tongues.

The US Justice Department and Pentagon began a criminal investigation last week into the recent leaks of purported secret documents detailing Ukraine war plans and intelligence on U.S. allies.
Pentagon officials are seeking to learn the identity of the leaker, most likely internal, while attempting to contain diplomatic fallout from the unauthorized disclosure.
The leaker could be the same source who tipped Seymour Hersh about the Biden administration's culpability for the Nord Stream bombing.
Among documents leaked was one that stated that the USA had been wiretapping the South Korean Office of National Security. I am sure it is not just the South Koreans being wiretapped. It is just a question of who else is going to be informed of their honorary treatment by the USA, going through the leaked documents.
Seymour Hersh also came out earlier to accuse the USA of using the claim that six pro-Ukrainians in a boat were responsible for the attack on the Nord Stream pipelines. That counter has not been news on MSM as expected. Hersh called it a fabricated narrative invented and generated by the Biden administration to throw out the accusation by Hersh and muddied the waters, pushing culpability to an unknown perpetrator that cannot be identified.
When Xi and Putin wants to talk about important matters, they visit each other in person. I think they knew all the dirty tricks used by the USA, to the point that they do not even trust those in their office who may be paid to evesdrop on their talks.
Going online in virtual meeting, or talking over the hot line is also a very dangerous move for them indeed. Even Xi wants to talk to Macron over tea, one on one, without Macron's shadow, who insisted on following him to China, lurking and listening in. Xi completely distrust that shadow Ursula von der leyen, the lapdog of the USA.
American media trying to drive wedge between Singapore and China with article headlined "Rich Chinese Splashing Out on Luxury Have Yet to Invest Big in Singapore"
I think they do not like the visit of LHL to China recently and the boast that the Singapore/China relationship is still strong. The USA wants to break up that relationship, just like the breaking up of the Russia/China relationship. Yes, divide and control is their agenda.
Lest we tend to forget, it is always dangerous trying to balance two legs straddling two boats. The USA already said - 'You are either with us or against us'. That is the choice they are giving everybody and Red Dot is no exception. Now that they have the Pinoys to host their firepower in this region, and Australia their appointed Sheriff in East Asia, Red Dot is losing its importance in the eyes of the USA.
Moreover, the Straits of Malacca is no longer the chokepoint against China in times of conflict. The BRI is already providing an alternative route, albeit just the initial stage, with the Arctic route being explored as well. Oil supplies for China does not necessarily come from the Middle East alone via the Straits of Malacca, as Russian supplies can come into China by pipelines. Trade with Europe can go by the land route, and the recent exposure by Germany and France indicates that China is still the most important market for the EU.
And China is still exploring the possibility of digging a canal across Nicaragua to bypass the Panana Canal. Oil pipelines from the Middle East across Afghanistan or Pakistan may be next on the agenda. After all, Iran and Saudi Arabia are now not in conflict and suits China's intention of using Iranian ports for Middle East oil.
Hsien Loong went to China to mend relations and bragged about how good Singapore China relations is. On the other hand Channel News America keeps on attacking China and smearing China, which in a way undermines what Hsien Loong is trying to do.
When China reads Channel News America, they would be furious. So who is controlling the narratives of Channel News America?
What are the motive and agenda of Channel News America?
China will not retaliate right away. China will calibrate its response where it will hurt most and bid its time. Just like Russia, any response against the USA and the West in Ukraine is well planned and effective, not panickily plucked from the air on the spur of the moment.
China reportedly is going to bankrupt many of the worlds top carmakers very soon. China will be banning the sale of cars that run on fossil fuel by this July, with an extension to January 2024. As a result, Chinese consumers are not buying fossil fuel cars right now, in view of the ban soon.
Many of the worlds top carmakers from Japan, Germany and USA were late in moving into production of EV cars, with the exception of Tesla. Most still have millions of unsold vehicles running on fossil fuel, which is unsaleable in the Chinese market right now. What are they going to do with all that many vehicles without being able to sell them in their biggest market? Even if they can pick up adoption of the EV production, the Chinese market would have already been monopolised by Chinese EV carmakers like BYD and also Tesla.
China, as we know very well, is also working on its response to the USA chip sanctions and the retaliation will likewise be catastrophic for American chip manufacturers, TSMC and Samsung. What will hurt most of the USA and its perpetrators participating in the chip sanctions against China will be the total loss of the Chinese market for chips. Most USA chip manufacturers, and likewise Taiwanese and Japanese, are already suffering massive losses due to the chip sanctions imposed on China. The loss of the China market will be permanent.
