Is Singapore Really In A Hopeless Case of 'To Each His Own' Survival State?

Some people believe that Singapore is now in a hopeless state and we must, therefore, seek wealth and well-being for ourselves - the selfish individual self. Is this true?

The individuals who hold that belief could have been led to such a mental defeatist attitude by the example of the greedy leaders who are enriching and agrandising themselves, and simultaneously glorifying and empowering their positions no end.

However, there is another belief. The belief that the destiny of a country is based on a higher set of values, instead of the depravity of power and human greed.

All we need is a few GOOD MEN. Don't ever give up hope. Without HOPE, humans would have been destroyed by themselves long ago.

Every life is living because of HOPE. Every living being is living because there is HOPE for change, evolution for the better. Nobody hope for the worst. Not even the coronavirus! It mutates frequently to improve itself.

Do not subscribe to a defeatist attitude. A defeatist mentality is doomed to extinction like the dodo bird of Mauritius. We must never think that Singapore is hopeless and every one should be for himself /herself. We can still come together to build a better Singapore in the near future, if not for ourselves, at least for the sake of our children and their children.

Lee Kuan Yew did it because he had a Few Good Men. With this team, he was able to lead Singapore to where it was 20 years ago (before his son took over), with only 1.6 million people in 1965, mostly uneducated and illiterate, but hardworking and determined.

If Lee Kuan Yew could do it with much less manpower and resources, why can't others? Why can't his successor? His own eldest son?

Ironically, it was he who had planted the seed for Singapore’s decay and decline. He put up a one-man-operation (OMO) System that has to be supported by "Yes-men", with a few decorative peripheral "Yes-women".

This LKY System can only be effective and competent if run by LKY with his team of Few Good Men. Once the Few Good Men had been systematically removed, it also set the clock clicking for Singapore’s eventual decay and decline, which had led Singapore to the pathetic and tragic state it is today.

However, there is still HOPE. Singapore is still not a hopeless case. We can build a new system, a better system than what it is today. Anyone who tell you that the status quo is the way to go, he must be someone with a selfish personal agenda. Don't take him seriously.

As we can see, there are still good and capable people around in Singapore. When the situation has deteriorated to a precarious stage, I am sure those Few Good Men will come out to take on the responsibility to rebuild Singapore again, to build a new System for ALL.

It takes all sorts of people to fill this world. There are people who build new systems. There are people who maintain old systems that still work effectively. There are people who exploit the system and there are people who only know how to destroy the system.

However, the worst type of people are those who continuously and persistently destroy the system but still think highly of themselves that they are running the systems so very well that they deserve to become multi-millionaires overnight for running down the system. These are the scumbags and rubbish bins of a sick society. These people are bound to deteriorate, decay and rot like rubbish in one form or another. These self-enriching people are not what Singaporeans should look up to. These must be discarded like the rubbish we throw into the rubbish chutes everyday. If not, once the rubbish accumulates for too long, it will smell badly, abhorrently stinking!

Once the rubbish is cleared, Singapore will be clean again. That day for a thorough cleaning will come. That day must come, inevitable!

So, Don't Lose HOPE!

"$100 for someone who earns $1,500 a month with a family to feed is a lot of money that can be used to purchase necessities," wrote President Halimah Yacob in a Facebook post Tuesday (Jan 18) as she highlighted a man who flouted Covid-19 rules and refused a swab test so that he could continue to work.

Madam Halimah, who as Singapore President earns a monthly gross salary of S$119,900‬ (excluding the 13th month bonus and the Annual Variable Component) according to estimates, said the worker had been concerned about losing his $100 attendance allowance if he went on medical leave.

Her net income, take home pay, is about $5 million to $6 million a year (all inclusives).

Yet she remains, as before she became a multi-millionairess, the same stingy and miserly woman she was, just like Mr Stooge.

The three witches of past, present and future should be interested to pay a honourable visit to her?

Singapore is in the Situation it is now is not quite unexpected. The Late Ruth-less Monster had it all planned since the Day Sin was handed over to him on a silver platter.
Just like the COVID Pandemic boomerangs at it's perpetrators, Sin ends in the State it is due to the Avarice of its' leedership.
Hot-housing to achieve wealth and fame is like hurrying the maturity of any beings. And the Consequence is invariably early maturity means early expiry and or demise.
But,
is Singapore gone case? The Answer is: there is much hope if it gets adopted. There shall be much challenges for Singaporeans for some decades to come. However, ultimately, after any events, fortune changes, it is a cycle by nature. No one knows how long the Suffering will last, however, it will end for sure.

Cheers

The present President of Singapore is the Symbol and Representation of:

1. Inequality.

2. Injustice.

3. Undemocratic Dictatorship.

4. Pseudo Parliamentary Democracy - with Representatives of the Party instead of Representatives of the Voters and people.

5. Deliberate and unconscionable indulgence in raiding the State Coffers and National Reserves.

6. Obscene Pays and Bonuses based on self-appraised, self-inflated self-worth.

7. A government that is totally divorced from the sufferings and hardships of the society in which it is responsible to administer, care and help to educate, groom, inculcate, lift and progress for a better life. Instead, it is the main culprit that splits and divides the disparity of income gap wider and wider.

8. Lavish and unnecessary spending on parties, celebrations, and feel-good projects such as The Jewel, Gardens By The Bay, Changi Airport Terminal Five, etc.

9. Jobs and occupations imbalance and disparity in favour of foreigners, against own people.

10. Many more.

They stick out like sore thumbs.

LKY was the one to turn Singapore into "to each his own survival state" or you die your own business.

Hard Truths and no-crutch mentality.

Self-Reliance and no welfare.

Downgrade to 1-room flat or rental flat and bank account zero before Singapore will give you $400 a month.

I've already responded to Q of H's thoughts.

here
and here

Charles Mackay wrote a famous book about the 'madness of crowds'
Because it was written a long time ago, the English used is "old style" which can be difficult to parse. Nonetheless, it is a great book filled with ideas that could save your life...especially if you play in markets.

"Devil take the hindmost"

When the herd is in a panic and stampeding quickly and violently FORWARD, if you are slow, vulnerable and stuck at the back, you will most likely PERISH. No one will care, because they're all trying to "get ahead" and "save themselves".

You are free to disagree. I prefer to deal in realities and probabilities of "better ranges of outcomes".

LKY is claimed by Sinkies to be the Maker of Sin.
Now,
many are begining to realize that Sin is in the State it is now because of his ambition which is now being fulfill by his Son. LKY had groomed his Son Lee Hsien Loong to suceed him and his wish was given the Thumb-up by the People who worshipped LKY.
The Late LKY mentored the Sin Cabinet till his demise. As such, the Calibres in the PAP Rulers are much of his choices. This means the Best are selected to run Sin and the Result is that the Little Red Dot being a Most Prosperous First World Country with many millionaire and billionaire. No mean feat for a resource-less tiny country.
Will Sin sustain it's prosperity shall now depend on Lee Hsien Loong and his selected team.
How will it pans out?
Did LKY prepare his successor well?
How will Sin fare in the Future?

And the Pipe Piper was so happy. All the children and imbeciles just stampedingly fell from the high cliff into the swift sweeping river down below. All drown and perished. Not a single trace of the existence of any living being could be found. No evidence of anything. Nobody is the wiser.

Except, of course, those who were slow and stuck behind. Their lives were spared. Thank God!

Moral of the story?

In life, there are so many preponderables and unexpected outcomes. Man never plan to fail but failures there are plenty. Out of 100 plans, 98 will fail, 60 are destined to fail.

Man plans, God destroys!
No man can outsmart the Supernatural!
Countless tried, none ever succeed.
All perished.
Death is the Final Arbitrator of Justice!

Where is Hitler, the Monster that terrorised the whole world, now?

Where is Lee Kuan Yew now?

Think deeply.

Ong Yes Koon said for the second time that Singapore must have only a one-party system, cannot have two party system. And he also, in the same breath, said that own selfish self check own selfish self is a virtue.

The two statements that he had said, with gusto and haughty facial expression, clearly indicate that he has a very selfish and corrupted mind. And also that he is a communist at heart, just like his father 50 years ago.

The key question of Paramount Importance is:

Why has the PAP's Inner Circle allowed such a communist element to infiltrate into the Party and rose to become a Minister and contender for the next Prime Minister post?

Re: The Pied Piper of Hamlelin example:

Excellent rejoinder! ๐Ÿ‘๐Ÿป

But you have strengthened my ORIGINAL POINT: that as an individual one must remove oneself from The Herd, or Group think, and think for ==> YOURSELF <==, then choose the actions which are in your own best self-interest

Thanks for playing! ๐Ÿป

Qualification. Think for yourself and your own selfish good but pretend in public that you are caring for the public good and not for yourself.

@ 1244

Quite good advice. Although that might work for some people, it would not suit me because I don't like "pretending" and I am a damn lousy actor. ๐Ÿคท๐Ÿป‍♂️

Anyway, the more "lies" or deception you put out, the more complicated your life becomes. I'm all about being as simple and as uncomplicated as possible, because life in this universe is already complex and chaotic.

So my "strategy" is to generally not engage in "controversial" discussions, or disengage and change the topic when chit-chatting in public. Again, my self interest takes the lead. Don't make enemies! This strategy, IMO, works in my best interest.

We will each pick what we think works for us, individually.
