"In
September this year, the CAAS said it had lifted the suspension on the
737 Max flying in and out of Singapore after evaluating design changes
to the aircraft as well as its safety record over the past nine months
and finding "no notable safety issues".
"On Tuesday, the
airline said it had invested about S$230 million on the development,
design and installation of "new industry-leading cabin products" for the 737-8."
SIA has only spent money (S$230 million) on the aircraft's cabin, not the aircraft's safety issues.
Neither
does changing to name 737-Max to 737-8 enhance the safety of the
aircraft. Such a move may confuse and mislead the customers into
thinking and believing that its a new model of the 737 Series.
The
main issue is that the overall design of the entire aircraft is faulty.
Therefore, no matter what one does with the design of the interior of
the aircraft, and how much time, money and efforts one has spent on the
now proven-unsafe 737 Max, it does not remedy the main faulty features
(manufacturer's faults) that have affected it's safety tremendously.
The
CAAS has taken a great risk to announce that it has found "no notable
safety issues". It would be prudent to make sure that the manufacturer
(Boeing) declare that all the safety issues of the 737 Max have been
solved and that the aircraft is safe to fly again.
Obviously,
there are still safely issues regarding the design of the engines and
fuel tanks, the design of the wings and the design of the aircraft's
body. All these three safety issues have not been solved. All these
three combined together makes the aircraft dangerously unsafe.
The talks about software problems are all red herrings, and seeing the trees but missed the wood.
The
fact remains that the same safety issues that have caused the two
crashes that killed all their passengers and crews on board, have not
been solved yet. Why?
Simply because they cannot be solved!
As such, the 737 Max aircraft must be put out of operation/service and sent to the junk yard.
Please don't play with other people's lives.
As
it is, Covid-19 has already claimed nearly a million lives. The least
the world wants is to add more preventable deaths to the list of
unnecessary casualties.

A key question that must be answered is "Can these so called renamed planes fly without computer aid?" If yes then it could be ok, if no then there will be concerns if the computer will override the pilots at the wrong time, similar to what happened with both earlier disasters
The safer option will be to bring back the previous generation of 737s, those were proven to have no major issues all these years. As the saying goes, if it ain't broke, don't fix it
Think they smart to change the model name of the aircraft from 737-Max to 737-8 so that people get deceived and misled, never released that it is the Deadly Maximum Killer Boeing 737-Max?
The question is:
Is the change aircraft model name done by Boeing or by SIA?
If it is done by SIA, under the excuse of re-branding, is it legal?
Does it infringed on any law, regulation or contractual agreement with the Boeing Company?
If it is legal, then I can also rename or rebrand my iPhone3 as iPhone14 and try to sell it to the gullibles at a higher price.
I can also rebrand or rename by unpopular car model to a brand new model called Car-888, isn't it?
People who are bankrupt, can also rename themselves to new names so as to deceive or misled others into believing that they are totally different people.
No matter what you call it, rebrading or facelift, or any other nomenclature, the intention is either to cheat, deceive, mislead or confuse.
The intention cannot be a good one.
From the businessman's perspective, it may be a positive intention.
But from the customers' perspective, it is a negative intention.
China is on the market too with planes they made themselves, engines and all. Sure it takes time to draw level, but never count China out as a competitor. And when China does compete, it will be fun to watch. OH, you can expect lots of demonisation as always.
For the Whites to con the non-Whites, it really is easier done than said, thanks to the mindset that has been ingrained in non-Whites that what is White must necessarily be good.
Most countries that were colonised by the Whites still pay obeyance to the Great White Empire that ruled over them, their authority then unquestioned. That mindset still persists, enhanced no doubt more by the brainwashing dished doubt to millions of non-White young students sent to study in the Great White Universities. The tradition still holds true today,- in the way some non- Whites now embrace the culture that is embraced by the Whites themselves.
It is impossible to wean them away, and so they will still believe in the safety of the proven unsafe 737-8. COVID19 vaccines prove my point and sorry for being off tangent.
