More glaring evidence about how fake the Americans are in their freedom of the press, fake news media, champions of human rights, abuses of power. Read what John Swinton, Chief of Staff of NYT said below and slap yourself if you have been a blind believer of American lies.
Shame on you, lying journalists, hypocrites. And shame on you, gullible unthinking believers of white lies.
John Swinton on the independence of the press
Variations on the quote below have been misattributed as a response to a toast, by John Swinton, as "the former Chief of Staff at the New York Times", before the New York Press Club in 1953. However, research reveals that Swinton (1829-1901), after moving to New York, wrote an occasional article for the New York Times and was hired on a regular basis in 1860 as head of the editorial staff. Afterward holding this position throughout the Civil War, he left the paper in 1870 and became active in the labor struggles of the day. He later served eight years in the same position on the New York Sun and later published a weekly labor sheet, John Swinton's Paper.
The remarks were apparently made by Swinton, then the preeminent New York journalist, probably one night in 1880. Swinton was the guest of honour at a banquet given him by the leaders of his craft. Someone who knew neither the press nor Swinton offered a toast to the independent press. Swinton outraged his colleagues by replying:
There is no such thing, at this date of the world's history, in America, as an independent press. You know it and I know it.
There is not one of you who dares to write your honest opinions, and if you did, you know beforehand that it would never appear in print. I am paid weekly for keeping my honest opinion out of the paper I am connected with. Others of you are paid similar salaries for similar things, and any of you who would be so foolish as to write honest opinions would be out on the streets looking for another job. If I allowed my honest opinions to appear in one issue of my paper, before twenty-four hours my occupation would be gone.
The business of the journalists is to destroy the truth, to lie outright, to pervert, to vilify, to fawn at the feet of mammon, and to sell his country and his race for his daily bread. You know it and I know it, and what folly is this toasting an independent press?
We are the tools and vassals of rich men behind the scenes. We are the jumping jacks, they pull the strings and we dance. Our talents, our possibilities and our lives are all the property of other men. We are intellectual prostitutes.
Despite the misattribution, the quote raises the issue of whether there is not continuing truth in Swinton's remarks, and whether some candid journalist might not be able to fairly say similar things today. Anyone who has associated closely with journalists can hardly avoid finding a ring of truth in such words, and the best evidence lies in the actual product of journalists and how well, or how poorly, it both agrees with and covers what actually happens, especially involving such things as corruption and abuse of power.

There are only three sources that you can believe in the news - RT, Aljazeera and CGTN. This has been the sources of real truthful news quoted by many in comments on Social Media. Much dirt on the hypocrisy of the Whites had been uncovered by Aljazeera investigative journalism.
Press Freedom is all hogwash. Claiming that the press is not controlled by Governments is all a lie. Media Moguls have strong links to the establishment. Even if they are not telling the lies, they are guilty of suppressing the truth. Such media's agenda is to sensationalise news to attract subscribers to boost income, even lying like the BBC.
RT is not afraid to claim it is funded by the Russian Government. Aljazeera too is partly funded by the Qatari Government. CGTN is state owned by the Chinese Government. They have no reason to manufacture lies to boost followers or raise funds. Reporting the real news without lying will automatically led to more subscribers and introduction from visitors who valued the truth.
In France, just recently, the Government wants to pass a law to prevent the use of drones to film and cover protest, in an effort to clamp down on the revelation of the truth of police brutality. Protestors know that this will enable the powers that be to distort the truth, without the video evidence, from such filming by using drones.
Incidentally, despite all the deaths during the Yellow Vest protest in France, not much was reported in the MSM. Contrast the incidents against the protestors in Hong Kong and Myanmar, where even the poodles know it is time to bark.
They have to bark to show their loyalty to their trainers and are with them and not against them. For all we know, most of these poodles are just forced to tow the line grudgingly, not out of caring for human rights or morality. In their hearts they know it is all a hypocritical show of solidarity.

The Indian woman who refused to wear a mask last April is a supporter of constitution.org and follows "We The People" who is against government of any sort, and believes in living by own rules and not by rules written by govt or by other people. They believe (1) govts should be abolished, (2) countries should be abolished, (3) central banks like MAS should be abolished, (4) people should self-govern in small groups like towns, villages or kampongs.
That is a very good idea. Everything abolished. Laws also abolished. Then it will be lawlessness. Self-rule in small groups like primitive tribes will invite murderers and robbers to attack and colonize these small groups and make them slaves.

DBS In Hot Soup In India?
It certainly looks like DBS, with an original Indian Chief at the helm, has got itself into very hot and spicy Indian curry soup.
UOB Kay Hian has released a report on 19 Feb 2021, suggesting that DBS would be suffering from “more headaches from lawsuits in India”.
DBS plunges itself into the Indian Ocean of deep troubles when it went ahead to acquire the failing Lakshmi Vilas Bank (LVB) in India last November.
It was a like a shot-gun marriage initiated by the Central Bank of India. to force DBS India to merger with LVB in order to rescue LVB from certain collapse.
Immediately after DBS India merged with LVB, Religare Finvest Limited (RFL) of India filed a petition with the Delhi High Court to make DBS India a respondent in its ongoing lawsuit with LVB, on the ground of the merger of the two banks (‘Firm petitions court to make DBS responsible for LVB’s embezzlement of S$130m of its FDs‘).
Prior to DBS’ acquisition of LVB, 2 employees of LVB were already arrested last year for their alleged involvement in the misappropriation of RFL’s fixed deposits from the bank.
A total amount of some Rs 729 crore (S$132 million) belonging to RFL was alleged to have been embezzled by the 2 senior LVB staff.
In fact, RFL reported the matter to the Indian police back in 2018.
It was alleged that the staff colluded with external parties in siphoning off RFL’s fixed deposit money from the bank.
Subsequent investigation is said to have uncovered grave irregularities and severe violation of regulations at LVB.
The claim amount by RFL has swelled to Rs 900 crore (S$164m) due to compounding of interest.
The next hearing of the case is scheduled to be heard next Thursday (25 Feb).
There are also other similar cases still outstanding. How many more such claims against DBS will there be? Your guess is as good as mine.
Maybe CPIB should make an investigation into the background of how this funny deal was negotiated and who were those involved?
What will be the implications to Temasek Holdings?
From circumstantial evidence, it is very likely that due diligence was not properly and thoroughly done.
This could be a case of old-boys networking at work.
Certain individuals must have benefited in one way or another, in one form or another directly or indirectly, or in a circular roundabout way.
