The above chart shows the number of cases as on 16 Feb, a total of 75 cases positive so far. Singapore has had 5 clusters originating from foreigners from Wuhan, China, considered external sources. The clusters included the Chinese health product shop Yong Thai Hang, Seletar Aerospace Construction Site, Grace Assembly of God Church, Life Church and Mission and Grand Hyatt Hotel. These were the primary locations of first infection.
There were a few cases of untraceable source like the DBS Bank and hospital workers. When the new cases could be traced to their origins, there is some assurance that the viruses are not free floating all over the island. When new cases were confirmed and sources unknown, this would raise alarm and fear. Fortunately most of the cases could be linked to the five primary clusters or known contacts. This has gradually reduced the fear that one can be hit anywhere in the island.
The daily hit rates has been hovering around 2-5 until the sudden surge with 9 cases in a day. The previous day high was 8 cases. Luckily the next day saw a drop to 5 cases and then to 3 cases. The comforting feeling comes from no more new cases that came out of the blue.
Is the situation now under control in Singapore? Has the infection rate peaked and starting to come down? This can only be confirmed in the days ahead if new cases do not exceed 3 and could be traced to the original 5 clusters, a sign that the viruses are not running wild and in the air. And hopefully, if this is the case, the Code Orange could be scaled down to Code Yellow.
This may take a week at least for the authority to be confident that this is the case. It is easier to raise the level of risk to a higher state, but more difficult to bring it down. Yesterday was another day when new infected cases were down to 2, both traceable, one repatriated from Wuhan and the other linked to the DBS case, in a way saying generally the air is free of coronavirus except around those infected.

Wow, 4G Leaders showing their mantle in International Media Station.
Changed channel immediately to avoid painful sightings and ringing to the ears.

>> Has the Covid19 infection peaking and under control in Singapore? <<
Maybe. You can certainly interpret the data that way.
However Patient Zero is still roaming around...whoever they are they are infectious but not ill, but if they're out and about they will be leaving deposits of their viral payload on surfaces on public transport, toilets, probably coughing and sneezing all over the shop. Even if they wear a mask, they might just "suka suka any how throw", or take off their mask to eat and leave the infected mask on the table. ๐คฎ
Until the govt catches this fucker and locks them into quarantine, there is really nopredicting how this is going to go. With an R0 of 2-4, you do the math lah.
Unconfirmed reports of asymptomatic "outliers" claim that at least one person was diagnosed 42 days after contracting the virus. This of course could be a measurement error...it's easy to make such mistakes.
Making predictions on how the infections are behaving is fraught with too many "unknown unknowns". Even the models used are based on the assumptions of previous infections, and the data gathered so far has not been verified properly, figures aren't checked, there could be mis-counting...a whole heap of stuff that can introduce errors, and thus lead to false conclusions.
The govt already said it won't go to Code Red at this stage, but yet people are panicking over something which probably won't happen (good luck) and even if it does THERE'S NOTHING the citizens can do about it except FOLLOW PROTOCOL.
Yeah, if you want to get out to "go to my safe assets in Australia" (someone wrote), you shouldn't be talking about it or telling people. Just do it, and get the fuck out. Me and a few other Singaporeans I know are actually IN Australia...most of us left after CNY...after doing the "family thing"...reunion, whatnot. One of the Singaporeans I know even decided to buy a car, since they reckon they'll be here for at least 3-4 months so buying instead of hiring seemed to make more sense.
The above comment by Matilah is more like himself, unlike his wild and hate posts against China and CCP, very likely instructed by his handler to post them and getting paid for it. Or else no more free trips to Singapore.
@ RB
Aiyah, there you go again with misinformation. I love China...that place is rocking and awesome lah.
But I have DECLARED WAR on the CCP. I'll do whatever my "small power" will allow me to wallop them to oblivion. Mao was responsible for 65 million Chinese deaths. Let's see if Xi & Wang can beat that record.
BTW, have you seen the videos of those new "built in 10 days" hospitals falling apart on the inside. And yet the CCP made elaborate videos to show the world how great they are by making that shit happen.
Just goes to prove the point: what is made is China, can't last.
So don't worry lah, Covid19, or what I call the Kung Flu is also Made in China which means, it too CANNOT LAST ๐, but it means that it is dangerous and will kill people first before it breaks....completely useless (like those new "hospitals")
OK, looks like I've earned my next "free trip" to Singapore ๐ค๐๐ค
Matilah is probably right.
Last two days temp at gym 35.8- 35.3 respectively.
Today 36.7 Temp rising?
Passive carrier going into active mode?
Cheers
@1011
Singapore's Changi airport under different circumstances, could be re-named "Changi, Global Virus Distribution Hub" because of the sheer volume of in and outbound traffic.
Add to that the Jewel, where thousands congregate everyday to ooh and ahh at a few plants and some falling water, with fucked up music playing far too loudly. This is where everyone can get infected by feeling "nice" and "connected" to fake nature and other human hosts for the virus.
....but thankfully, the PAP has it all under control. Chnagi is probably safe...or as safe as what is PAP-humanly possible.
Don't panic ok? ๐คก
Ever heard that a broken umbrella helps one from getting soaked or scorched ??
Hospital leaking is a minor problem though to some, it is overwhelming bcos they cannot handle any problem no matter how small the lssue.
I can understand children to be easily influenced by propaganda and hate speeches. For this old cock Matilah to have so much hate for CCP and Xi without any personal contact or relationship only tell that he was instructed/paid to post those hate mails or he was so influenced by western media for so long that it is second nature to him without him realising it.
@ RB
Old man calling me old man ๐๐คฃ Same old story...blah blah blah. Eh, I didn't have a "personal relationship" with Hitler either, but like many people of the same ilk, we dislike him and his deeds.
Anyway have you been to Jewel? ๐
Infection rate has been leveling off past 3-4 days in china.
For the rest of the world, the infection rate has been on sustained uptrend, until past 24 hours when it also appears to be stabilising. But it's just 24 hrs. Need to see stabilisation over 1 week at least.
The rest of Feb is critical to know whether the virus contagion is under control or not.
But even if under control by end of Feb, the economic fallout will last till end of May at least. Even if best case scenario, Singapore will still experience recessionary outlook for the next 6 months. Many staff in hospitality industries, as well as those in SMEs will be retrenched or put on long-term no-pay-leave.
Must have a very very painful lesson for the Sinkies before they wake up.
Few hundred thousands RTS- Radio and Television of Singapore, old name Mediacock
Now Roam The Streets before they will protest against the 10 Million White now Black Paper.
Maybe, it's God will. Lesson in time for the manure Millieninals who had lives too cosy and easy.
Liu Tai Ker? Where are you with the 10 million Master Plan.
Master Plan of making the New Generation of Sinkies New Poor.
@1225
>> Even if best case scenario, Singapore will still experience recessionary outlook for the next 6 months. <<
"Best case" is not such a 'bad case". Singapore, like every other cuntry, experiences recessions every now and then. And like most other cuntries, survives and then it's back to prosperity. Markets go up, then they go down, then up again...and down, but most people no like... when markets drop, especially ousing market, young couples in love find it easier to buy their own home, so they can fuck like rabbits without having to worry if mum or dad are listening. COE drop...more fuckers can buy cars to stylo-milo when the economy recovers.
last but not least, the "collectors" of financial assets. These are the thankless good souls who PROP UP the market by buying so that prices recover, and businesses have CAPITAL again so they can HIRE MORE FOREIGNERS and MAKE MORE MONEY for Singaporeans who provide that capital.
Recession means the "benevolent" PAP will do CPF topups and give heartlanders "subsidies". What? No good ah?
Price levels will fall. Last time during Asian financial crisis everything cheep cheep...no good ah?
Air travel will be cheaper. As will holidaying in all the tourist spots.
Matilah, old man don't go snooking around every new retail outlet like children getting excited by a balloon. If I go there, would be for something else and on the way.
This is a man made disaster that would affect everyone and everything, every industry, every country, except those making masks and vaccines.
The full impact of the hit is akan datang.
@ RB
As I said, one man's misery is another man's opportunity....so I'm hoping you are right. ๐๐ป
Gotta thank the CCP. The Kung Flu is the BEST Chinese export. even better than iPhones.
What people are also missing, is that in all the cuntries most affected, the middle class and the govt has plenty of money to "cushion" , making any economic downturn not as bad as what people expect. China, Japan, S Korea, HK, Singapore, Thailand...knn the middle classes are all well off lah, ad their govts got plenty of money to help. In fact, their markets have held up quite well.. I think the US market has more chance of experiencing a terrific crash than any of the aforementioned Asian cuntries.
No need for doom and gloom lah. No recession lasts forever, and Asian cuntries got plenty of "bullets" when it comes to propelling their economies to new highs.
OK, everyone can relac now. ๐ฟ๐ฝ and enjoy the wayang. Where's War Stocks Guy? Hey WSG, back me up here!
See if COE falls further down to $20k.
Mr RB. Most Singaporeans now renewed their old COEs.
Most retired with their Cars reaching thye chias slaughters.
So must cough out at least even Korean Cars at 70 to 80K. Very chiak lat.
Somemore, now coffee shops assistants no more shout Car park lie leow. Very chia lat.
MOT, hopefully COEs with recesssion at S$1.00 Sin dollah.
But the PAP will tell u another story that COEs lessser and lessser. They can always TOP up the COEs. But they made you demand for them at their mercy.
So giving some carrots today and take back your whole life next.
Now no more China Ladies coffeeshop assistants to shout car park lie leow.
Now back to China and be coffee shop owners.

Benevolent PAP will give you chicken drumpets and wings today and the next will take back whole chickens and ducks and your lifes later.
Wow, now CNA propagandists talking about restructuring, retraining and supports for the government.
They been talking about this for donkey years and what's the use when there are NO sustainable jobs for Singaporeans.
Let the foreign talents or trashes smashed their rice bowls into smittens.
Why analysts all looked alike like Bull dog faces?
Renewed COEs as most already P.O.K.
