F35s - Influencing policy makers and the masses

F-35: How the fifth-generation fighter jet might take RSAF to the next level

Channel News Asia ran a 3 part series article on how good the F35 is and how relevant it is to the air defence of Singapore or should it be the air offensive capability of Singapore with these aircraft. Lockheed Martin, the aircraft manufacturer must have paid quite a bit for this propaganda, oops advertisement to influence not only the decision makers into paying for this ultra expensive toy, but also trying to change the perception of the man in the street that they should not grumble should the govt plough a few billions into this wonderful war machine. I read the piece and am convinced that this is a really good piece of war machine, maciam a Ferrari or a Lamborghini. Actually it is more, like a F1 formual racing car.

Imagine the people driving their Ferraris and Lamborghinis on our roads and how stylo milo they looked, just crusing along at 110 kph without breaking the road speed limit. That is about what these super cars could do on our roads. And the competitors for attention or to out race them were practically zero.

The big question is who are we going to use these machine against? China, completely useless. They have radars that could render the stealth feature ineffective. And it would be silly for any Singaporeans to think of fighting China with these aircraft, totally out of line, out of the leaque, no contest. Perhaps the closest to fighting China would be to be dragged in by the Americans as their point man, as part of the American war plan for world supremacy. This is definitely not something we want to be in, not something we want to pay for.

These war machine would be too good for our immediate neighbours. They too would not be our competitors even if they acquired them with American consent or acquiring the best Russian war machine. Buying these war machine is only the first step. You would also need clever pilots to fly them, not like the Ab Bengs in their soup up machine tearing down the road. These are highly sophisticated war machine to be used for war, not just swooping around in the sky. Not many would be able to use them as what they were made to do. Definitely not the pilots of our neighbouring countries. This is no bragging.

Then there is the bigger headache of maintaining them in flying and fighting condition. Our neighbours track record of their Russian and American possession has proven that afterF15s and F16s would be more than adequate to do the job needed, at a fraction of the cost.

Talking about cost, many would be better informed of the complexity of these machine, the use of satellite technology and GPS system to support them, ground control computer and radar system. It is not so simp0le as just buying the aircraft. Then there is also the weapons and avionics cost etc etc. The total cost would be enormous and something we could not afford and do not need to pay for.

Very likely these aircraft would not have to fight an air war and lost in battle. Many of them would be lost why flying in peace time due to engine or pilot errors. At the tune of $200m each, this is no small sum to fall out of the sky.

They are good to have, nice to have, like the Lamborghinis and Ferraris. But for practical reasons, the F15s and F16s would be able to perform just as well given the theatre and competitors. Can we afford to pay for such beautiful state of the art war machine or toys with public money?

Below are some extracts of the Lockheed Martin sales pitch in Channel News Asia. Very attractive and mesmerising. Spending OPM is so easy, for such machine, called game changer. Sure, why not. Who would end up paying for the super expensive toys? The enemies would not be able to take them down. But normal wear and tear, poor maintenance and mistakes would.

FORT WORTH, Texas: At the end of a highly sensitive assembly line, in the nave of an enormous aviation paint shop, lay a hulking lump of metal grey aluminium and titanium.
It was a war machine that showed some qualities of an expensive sports car, with sleek lines, perfect symmetry and a matte finish. But looks didn't mask the fact that this fighter jet is designed to be ultra deadly.
The F-35 Lightning II Joint Strike Fighter is so advanced, it can “talk” to other aircraft, see the enemy earlier and avoid being seen better than ever before. It can hunt discreetly in packs or be the all-seeing eye in the sky.
This fifth-generation fighter, according to defence experts, is also one of Singapore’s top choices to replace its ageing F-16s.

@ expensive toys make others jealous:

RB, by now most people appreciate that Singapore must “appear to be” on the bola when it comes to the important things of suck-cessFOOL nationhood. Not just for the security of the Sheeple. Fuck them. They must be kept alive, under-control and producing so that The State has plenty of money-resources, which in turn boosts the Singapore Brand.

Assets Under Management, or AUM. We have a shit load of these. Can challenge Zurich already. Dun Pray Pray, OK?

In order to keep those AUM growing, Brand Singapore has to appear safe and strong. This instills confidence in those fucks with too much money---they need a safe cuntry to keep their filthy lucre away from the confiscatory nature of say, the EU, US and Commonwealth governments like Australia and Canada.

There are also states and individuals who have money from ill-gotten gains… Like Indonesians and dictators from all over who---so “poor ting one”---require safe haven for their assets.

And then there are Chinese and Indians who face strict capital controls imposed by their own govt., and Russia who is reconsidering introducing capital controls because they face being hammered by the coming of (what many believe to be) the worst Bear Market EVER.

In the face of all this potential global chaos and uncertainty, Singapore is The Shining Jewel of a YUGE😜 BANK Vault to keep these AUMs safe, and making rich foreigners even richer.

So therefore, the F35 super-duper Star Wars type aircraft. Dun worry, we are rich, we can afford it. πŸ€‘ Do they work? Who cares. They look sexy, they sound dangerous...and everyone is attracted to shiny new objects (known as “shiny object syndrome”---look it up)

See, what did I tell you? More NATION BUILDING goodies. And more to come!

Remember, Singapore tak boleh kalah. The DNA of our culture is kiasu-kiasi. Therefore losing or dying is not an OPTION.

We are winners. Now everyone, step up to the motherfucking WINNER’S PODIUM, and collect your prizes! πŸ’ͺπŸ€£πŸ‘Œ

May we have more assets to manage! Amen.

RSAF Fighter Pilots will die faster during training, peacetime, not in war time.

RSAF can be renamed as Rest Speedily After Flying-F35.

@ 944

No lah. RSAF good lah, c'mon. Here in Perth got RSAF base. 30 years ago the SAF did deal with Aust govt for such a base. SAF bought plenty cheap house for the personell. Until prices recently declined, houses appreciated about 10x. SAF very clever.

The pilots you should be careful about are those fellas flying for Lion Air. Recently, one fella thought his 737 could also function like a sea-going vessel, so he tested his theory by putting the plane to sea. Unfortunately...he was WRONG. 737s don't like the water. πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

All US-made planes can be controlled remotely by CIA through special progarm in the software.

Remember Malaysian Airline MH370?

Spying is bad. Doesn't matter which cuntry's govt does it. They all do it.

But the USA wouldn't be so successful at global surveillance if it didn't have willing partners like Singapore

We are Singapore. We ah ka liau with USA. πŸ€“ πŸ‡ΈπŸ‡¬πŸ‡ΊπŸ‡Έ

HOW CAN A BRAND NEW AIRCRAFT CRASHED AND KILLED ALL 189 ON BOARD?

The Indonesian jet which crashed shortly after take-off had suffered instrument problems the day before, according to a technical log obtained by the BBC.

A technical log from a flight from Bali to Jakarta on Sunday said an instrument was "unreliable" and the pilot had to hand over to the first officer.

The Boeing 737 airliner crashed into the sea with 189 people on board.

It went down 15 minutes after take-off. There is no sign of survivors.

The BBC has so far been unable to reach Lion Air for comments.

Flight JT 610 was heading for the western city of Pangkal Pinang on yesterday when it went down.

Rescuers have recovered some bodies and personal items, including baby shoes.

Families are being told to go to a hospital to identify the dead.

RSAF Pilots - Be very suspicious of American-made aircrafts, especially the F35 that has tons of problems ranging from software to the fuel system, to avionics and to stealth discapability

rsaf will only receive the f-35s after year 2030, and by then m'sian and indo airforces will also have their new fighter aircraft.

Malaysia and Indonesia will be buying the Russian A400 anti-aircraft missile-system to easily pluck the F35 from the sky like plucking fruits!

That is one of the many reasons why the smart businessman Donald Trump is selling off the so-called latest F35s.

They blamed Chinese mobile phones for spying devices because they knew, they have been burying spying devices in their mobile phones to spy on others. So they knew the technology and presumed China would do the same.

When stealth is no longer stealth, why pay billions for an obsolete technology?

The F35s from USA is the most expensive war plane in the world. It is supposedly to be the most advance. Singapore should buy many of these to protect the country from invasion by neighbours. Invasion these days may not necessary be through war or frontier incursion. Very often invasions can be by sheer invitation of FTs. That is a form of invasion. The Indian via CECA and the PRC through cheap labour policies. This is exactly what is happening to Singapore. Invasion through peaceful means and not a drop of blood spilled. Uniquely Singapura.

Singapore is not only being invaded by Job-Scavangers (new terminology for Foreign Talons) but also being infested with incurable diseases of culture, social, religious and caste-system stereo-types from 3rd world countries. And local Blank Ants are now emboldened to behave like Black Panters. One fateful day will arrive in the not too distant future when racial riots will inevitably become the norm of the day, especially when economy is down and locals start to feel the hunger pangs and desperation.

PAP has not learnt from the burning alive of one MP by an old man during the Chinese New Year period a few years back!

When locals have no jobs or left-behind lousy jobs, more PAP MPs may face serious personal problems?

Actually no. By that time the amount of "new citizens" will have enough strength in numbers to give the PAP the support needed. New citizens are great pap supporters.

Matilah is right on the nose correct. In a few year from now there will be so many new citizens and PRs in the country, PAP will not need any true blue Singaporeans to vote for them. the 30% who voted opposition in the 2015 GE will be so few that their voices will be drown out by the chatter of foreign languages. PAP will dominate the next 10 GEs. Good luck to the unhappy Singaporeans. Don't like it ? CVollect you CPF and leave. Singapore is not for you anymore.

For the sake of your children and grand children, it is time to decide which country you want to quit to. The so called quitters made a really wise choice when they decided to leave many years ago. They were the ones with foresight. GCT called them quitters, but they are the ones laughing now.

Imagone the sale of 24 x F35, costing (torgether with weapons, ammunition, missiles, satelite support system, avionicsl, spare parts and special training for pilots and maintenance crew) US$500 million each. Total cost would be in the region of at least US$12 billion.

Daily operational costs (including special allowance for pilots) and maintenance costs (including special vocational sllowance for technicians and engineerd) for the 24 x F35 would amount to at leadt US$24 million a year.

Who will benefit other than the manufacturer of the aircraft, the supplier of weapons and missiles, the satellite system service, the US military and President Donald Trump?

Won't there be commissions, kick-backs and over-the-coffee-table money transferring from one middleman to another?

(Keppel's bribery case in Brazil is still very fresh in mind. Precedence has been set.)

Big arms deal usually involve big commissions in international trades. This is a fact. How the money is paid is another story.

@ 154 "be careful about throwing away value"

>> The so called quitters made a really wise choice when they decided to leave many years ago <<

Ok, here is my quitter experience. Please remember, I'm talking about my life, about decisions I made. In no way am I saying to anyone that "my way is the best". Everyone's situation is different.

When I decided to "quit", I chose to stay back to do NS. And I was criticised for that, by friends and family in Singapore, and by those who had already emigrated (quit).

Being the combative 19 yr old at the time, I told them---my elders and seniors---to "shut the fuck up and mind their own business... that my life is mine so get fucked". Needless to say that made them even more mad, but over about 10 years, I had them eating their words. πŸ’ͺπŸ˜‚

Now they (those still alive) are damn fucking jealous. I can come and go as I please to Singapore. I use the financial and legal services, register businesses, and fly to "safety" during the painful recessions over-taxed and over-regulated Australia used to have.

Similarly, living in Australia allows me to do things not possible or too troublesome or expensive in Singapore. I've learnt to "arbitrage" certain aspects of my life, to my own selfish benefit, and I make no apologies for it.

My opinion is that one should think very carefully about throwing away value. Singapore citizenship has value. The evidence is in the growing number of new citizens who've decided to become Singaporeans.

I also caution about making decisions based on feelings, especially the negative emotions. It's a no brainer to allow yourself to get mad or depressed about the PAP's antics. In fact, to ensure your own mental health, don't allow them to win the battle in your mind, or you could end up making poor decisions.

Good luck. We all need it!

Die die they must buy these planes, no matter how expensive and how irrelevant. One possible reason, balls got squeezed by the Americans to pay protection money. Second, what is the problem spending OPM to please the Americans? Maybe can get invited to the White House for dinner some more and win friends of America medals, using OPM of course.
Three, money not enough, raise bus and train fares, utilities bills, taxes, take from CPF. So many ways to take OPM.

What is the problem?
