CECA is good for Singapore and must be upgraded

India, Singapore to Undertake Third Review of Free Trade Pact

India and Singapore will initiate the next round of review of their existing free trade agreement tomorrow with a view to further promote commercial ties between the countries.

Commerce and industry minister Suresh Prabhu, who is here on an official visit, held discussions with Singaporean counterpart Chan Chun Sing.

"Both India and Singapore are looking forward to launch the third review of India-Singapore CECA on September 1. This will provide further momentum to the growing collaboration between our two countries," Prabhu said in a series of tweets.

New Delhi is trying to increase sharing of its resources and skilled manpower in the region. Singapore has emerged as Research & Development hub at its universities.

-- timesofindia

The above quote was posted as a comment in my blog and I think this is a very important development that requires more attention. Most Singaporeans would not have heard of it just like when they first signed the CECA and only after several years before it was exposed.

The CECA is a very important agreement between India and Singapore and must not be taken lightly by anyone. Recently when the MOM was trying to tighten the inflow of Indians into our island, the Indian govt threatened to sue our govt for violating the CECA. I think our govt must have softened the tightening as the Indian govt did not call on Sue. and everything quiet down. Just my guess. See how important this is, opening our govt to be sued with this agreement?

India and Singapore are both praising how great and good this CECA is to India and Singapore of course. It not only promotes more Indians coming here but also more trades and more jobs and is good for our GDP and bilateral relations. Singapore can also depend on India to defend the country if it is attacked, given the Indian's interest in our well being they would send in their mighty navy and air force to our defence. Singapore will have another strong military world power to depend on when it punches above its weight again.

Other than the Indian Singaporean ministers, the strongest supporters to improving India Singapore relations and to upgrade CECA must be Chok Tong and George Yeo. Chok Tong has proudly claimed credit for starting the Indian fever. And George Yeo was reported to try to convince LKY to invest in India in a big way. He was instrumental in raising funds for the Indian Buddhist University and was appointed the Chancellor for a while for his great financial contribution to the University.

Given their backgrounds and strong fondness of India and Indians, they should automatically be nominated to head the negotiation team to upgrade the CECA with India instead of Chan Chun Seng. The Indians would be more comfortable with them. Time to bring back George Yeo.

In brief, the CECA allows a few hundred professions from India to be recognised and Indians to work here with no conditions as to the qualifications and reputations of their universities or colleges. I dunno if this is applicable both ways or only one sided. Can Singaporeans of the same profession work in India as well? In a way, the CECA provision recognises all Indian qualifications per se, or on par with our world class universities and colleges like our NUS and NTU. This puts Indian universities above the universities all over the world, including the Commonwealth countries and the USA where not all are recognised here.

The nearly automatic transfer of staff or relocation of staff from India to Singapore offices is also a privilege that no country enjoys except India. Oh, it also applies to the automatic transfer of Singaporeans to offices in India. It works both ways.  Singapore is very happy with this term. This provision is the main reason why many Indian companies in Singapore are almost 100% staffed by Indian nationals and Singapore companies in India would be likewise, I believe.

With the prospects of the terms of the CECA being improved, I think Singapore should officially recognise all the universities and colleges in India instead of an implied recognition under the current CECA, ie not said, not written but all the same, all recognised.

The next important thing is to allow more Indian talents to work in Singapore, to be given citizenship and to head ministries, stats boards and GLCs. Then all the ministries, stats boards and GLCs would be as well managed as DBS and as profitable and reputable as DBS world wide. This is the greatest contribution of the Indian super talents in Singapore and Singapore will be as rich, powerful and prosperous as India. And can sell or rent properties to the Indian nationals here.

Oh, I almost forgot, allow Singaporean students to study in India en mass or bring in the Indian education system to replace our inffective education system that is good sounding in brand but cannot produce talents or trained graduates for the economy, and everyday complaining that we have no talents. If our universities were to run like the Indian universities, then we would not need to hire so many academics from India as our local graduates would then be just as good as those from India.

In the upgraded CECA, I am anticipating the new developments, Singaporeans could move freely to work in India and Indians could do the same in Singapore. Singaporeans could happily earn rupees and send them back to support their families in Singapore. Indians could also send back Singapore dollars to Indian to support their families. This is only fair. And with India recognising all our universities and colleges, Singapore should likewise recognise all the universities and colleges in India. This is also fair.

If this really happens, the Indians may build temples to worship Chok Tong and George for solving India's unemployment problem and making India rich and prosperous. Singapore could also build a few monuments of Indian leaders to recognise their great contributions in providing jobs for Singaporeans and helping Singapore to prosper.

What do you think?

Traitors or Patriots, this bunch of PAP policy makers?
This is what voting citizens get when they give too much money & power to a political monopoly.

CECA has changed the cultural fabric of Singapore. Our President is already Indian. Very soon the BJP may contest local elections and before long Singapore will have an Indian PM. Little India will expand and Indiatown will dwarf Chinatown. Indian food, music and movies will become the new fads as the PAP government woos and courts India. CECA dictates that such things must come to pass.

Many of this India-Singapore pacts are reported in India newspapers but not in Singapore state media.

This is because they are always one-sided promoting the interests of India nationals -thus boosting the popularity of the incumbent Indian government - but screwing the interests of ordinary Singaporeans.

So we ordinary Singaporeans have to pore over India news portals everyday to sniff out information on any pacts that the PAP elites are treacherously signing with India.

The word SINGAPURA (meaning "Lion City") is derived from Sanskrit, and ancient Indian lithurgical language dating back 3000-4000 years. It is one of the oldest languages ofour species.

We have Indian roots. Therefore we should be more welcoming to our ancient brothers and sisters.

"CECA" sounds like, and therefore reminds me of "caecum"---the "first stop" of the large intestine in the mammalian gut.

Undigested/ partially digested food passes through the caecum and is processed. The waste product is known by everyone around the world as SHIT. And it is expelled with great force thru the ARSEHOLE resulting in a general feeling of relief and satisfaction to the SHITTER.

If you said the caecum is important in the production of shit, you'd be factually correct. However one must not neglect the importance of the arsehole, because if you cannot get rid of your shit, it would poison you and you will die.

Arseholes are filled with nerve endings and are incredibly sensitive. They like it when things are expelled from it. But due to a quirk of nature, some people (men, women and children) like things going into their arseholes.

In some cuntry's like Singapore, there are laws to punish people from putting the "wrong things" into their arseholes. These illegal activities fall under the legal rubric known as "sodomy", or to the scofflaws who wantonly conduct their illicit criminality: "A weekend of good old dirty fun"🀑

This has been a short tutorial on human biology. Always glad to help out in clarifying important issues.

CECA 3.0 very good!!! More renters for my condos at Farrer Park, Dhoby Ghaut, and Buona Vista (One North). The only thing is whether companies willing to give good salary packages or not. KNN from 2015 to 2016 my renters' salaries dropped from average $15K a month to $12K a month. From 2016 start to see their salaries go up, but still only back to 2015 level.

I just remembered: Dr Mahathir is technically an Indian. His father was from South India.

Singapore should carry Dr M's balls and bring him along as head negotiator for the CECA review.

Indian vs Indian. "Level the playing field". The outcome is bound to be more favourable. Maybe can get a better deal for Singapore than that hopeless George Yeo.

CECA - The Death Nail For Singaporeans

The Comprehensive Economic Cooperation Agreement (CECA) between India and Singapore started on 1st August 2005 and reviewed in Oct 2007. It is now been upgraded (expanded) and grown into a super monstrous NAIL that drives right into the heart of each and every Singaporean.

It has been actively and deliberately promoted (focusing only the good points but hiding the unavoidable ills and long-term disastrous effects) in order to counter negative criticisms.

But no matter how it is being cosmetically packaged and advertised, the fact remains that people from India are coming to invade Singapore's job markets, to infest the limited space and common areas, to intrude into our private life, to break our rice bowls and steal our meals and, finally, to wreck our lives, families and nationhood.

Singapore leaders have eagerly and earnestly agreed with India to expand CECA by signing eight New agreements as follows:

1. Training of public service officials,

2. Cyber security cooperation,

3. Narcotics control,

4. Defence cooperation,

5. Expanded tariff concessions for an additional 30 products,

6. Training, employment and practice of nursing.

7. Mutual coordination, logistics and services support for naval ships, submarines and naval aircraft (including Ship borne Aviation Assets) visits.

8. Extension on Civil aviation cooperation.

The Devil is in the Details. With pro-foreigners policies openly and blatantly implemented over the last 25 years, there should be no doubt how the Devil looks like.

Hahaha

'...Mahathir is technically an Indian...' unquote. So is the 'technically unelected' elected President of Singapore.

I agree they will make a perfect match and bring the CECA to another level, if only...

But the pairing might also bring Singapore from first world to third world as well, with vintage Mahathir. It might rub the wrong way.

So on Sunday, the union boss sent out a "Fuck The Government" tweet using his kids to deliver the message to the Building Industry's government watchdog πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

The new (wanker) of a PM, Scott Morrison is hopping mad...failing miserably to see the humour in having 2 cute kids tell the government to GET FUCKED πŸ€ŸπŸ‘ŒπŸ‘πŸ‘

Because he was roundly criticised by a surprising number of similarly humourless Australians (fuck me, this is a place where people joke all the fucking time), the union boss deleted the "offensive" Tweet and publicly apologised. (i.e. wimped the fuck out).

Still, I'm glad I live in a cuntry where you can publicly tell the goverment to go fuck themselves, and the most you get is a howl of protests from the rabble, and from the PM and his cronies.

1. Vast majority voters view themselves as middle class: generally centre slightly left politicians n policies appeal to majority. Left or right extremes in almost all cases cannot win elections. 2. Crazy Rich Asians movie is a godsend for opposition in Spore. PAppies elite politicians are in substance in this super-class with their millions pay n bungalow houses. If branded long enough by media n their elite actions n policies. The voters will turn against such a party n elites.

4. To displace and replace the original local citizens with Indians.

The Key Persons Involved In The Process of Final Approval of The CECA

President Halimah Yacob (Indian) - highest assent to rectify any agreement with a foreign power / country.

Prime Minister LHL - signs the CECA documents.

Economic Coordinating Minister Tharman Shanmugaretnam (Indian) - coordinates and approves the completed documents.

Minister for Law K Shamugam (Indian) - sees through and approves the legal aspects of the documents.

Foreign Minister V Balasingam (Indian) - initiates and coordinates the CECA process.

Minister for Trade and Industry Paper-General Chan Chun Sing - leads the negotiations and approves the initial paperwork done by his subordinates, led by the 252nd Minister for Trade and Industry.

2nd Minister for Trade and Industry Iswaran (Indian) - supervises the paper works and handles the details.

Minister for Communications Iswaran (Indian) - responsible for communicating with the Press on everything pertaining to the CECA, for public consumption.

The two clueless unsuspecting non-Indian Key Persons involved in the whole process are probably more interested in their personal fame and glory than the details and the implementations of the CECA, thereby leaving the details to the rest of the team to work it out.

From there, anyone with a keen pair of eyes and some cow sense should be able to conclude what the final outcome would be.

Whose interests are being protected and whose interests are being advanced?

Singapore - A very sad state of affair
Confession of a daft sinkie

Below is an article posted in TRE supposedly by an ex PMET. I presume that this is a real story. Please read it before it is took late, that you have been sold and your turn will be next, if you continue to choose to be another daft sinkie. Betrayed but did not know. Just blame your own stupidity. The death of a once proud people has begun.

This situation is widespread, has been going on for many years, and is still going on. Who are responsible for this sad state of affair? Who allowed this crime against Singaporeans to continue unabated? Do you want this to continue to affect you and your children?

Replaced by FT finally – I voted for it!

I worked for MNC for last 10 years, before I was in a GLC. I am First Class honours from NUS ComSc. I had it easy with my good grade, I joined a GLC and got a good head-start and pay. I was in IT software development and later became manager of the department. That was in the 2000s, FTs were streaming in but the numbers were not significant, I always believe that we probably need more IT talents, the brainwashing on media worked on me. But nevertheless, at that time, I was making good pay, I thought of nothing. Every GE, I voted PAP for sure, life was good and money was good. I never once thought of voting opposition except I thought WP was credible enough to consider. But then, since life was so good under PAP, why bother. Politics are politicians, we were just making a living and when living was so good, would you want to make any change? Over the 10 years, my pay tripled and I bought a condominium, living the 4Cs that many of us dream of.

2010 onward, the stream of FTs were too obvious, particularly from China and India. I made a switch from GLC to MNC, I did notice growing number of FTs. But well, I got another pay hike, so who cares!

One of my old colleagues called me to ask him to help him to look for a job. He was from Indonesia but came here when he was 13, became citizen. He had MBA from US and remained unemployed for 4 years, that was in 2013. I found it hard to believe his words because I had never experienced such incident nor heard from anymore. Perhaps I was sent overseas then, I rarely came back to the HQ in Singapore. But I did understand his Pinoy wife with a dubious degree was promoted so many times after joining the PA. So the Pinoy wife was the sole breadwinner and senior manager in PA. I never really thought of much, I thought he was lazy. As long as you want a job, you could get it easily. I also failed to realise, government had already started PRO FT policies, grooming and promoting FTs in ministries and government agencies. Yes the Pinoy wife took the cue and became new citizen.

I came back to Singapore HQ in 2014 after working for few years in Australia. Life was good, pay was good but coming back is for the family. And I heard on media that PAP wanted all the locals who are based overseas to come back. That gave me some kind of assurance that I did not apply for PR nor thought of migrating there. Once back in the HQ office, I discovered almost 60% of the workforce were FTs, mostly from India. /////

Anonymous said...

Part 2:

///// I was made to report to a regional VP from India who became a PR not long ago. Back in Singapore, the office politics became quite obvious, I felt that my boss was trying to find problems with me. Although I tried hard to please and work to the best of my abilities, there was always something to pick on. I had great records through the years of work and in my last posting, strangely back in Singapore I was branded as “non performing”. Then I realised there was nothing wrong with me, I was being targeted. I saw no point carrying on, I decided to resign. After my resignation, another FT Indian was hired quickly, and to my knowledge they seem to know each other.

Since the resignation, I had not landed any job for almost 2 years. For some reasons, even with good regional software experience and excellent academics, I had very few interviews. And when I met with FT managers, the outcomes had always been negative. It looks to me locals are heavily discriminated.

I also went to WDA, E2i and government organised events, I found that they were mostly “wayangs”, they just want to have put up a show that they are helping locals but it was purely bs.
Since then, I reflected the years when government decided the FT policies, I was too busy making good money. I never realised one day I would be hit. I always voted PAP and trusted that my future would be secured. But it looks to me, I had been too trusting and this has
caused me dearly. I am planning to downgrade and sell my condo to free up cash so that I can continue to live with dignity.

For many of us like me, we are all caught up with chasing career and money, we never really thought about government policies and gave blind faith and trust. I always voted PAP, no matter some of my opposition supporter friends who kept warning me.
Well I had to face the music and I had to say, my time is really over, the next generation will bear the brunt of our decision. If we continue to vote blindly, we are creating the black hole for ourselves and our children. My vote for PAP has come back to haunt me dearly. This is what I had to remind you.

NUS is noted for being very stingy and demanding when awarding a first class honours. Anyone getting a first class honours from NUS must be very exceptional, the best of the best. Such people will not become duds overnight. They are very smart and would keep on upgrading themselves with the changing time. How can they be obsolete and what are the qualifications of the clowns that think such first class honours from NUS are not good enough. This is the first point to note.

The next point, if first class honours from NUS is not good enough, what about the rest of NUS grads who could not get a first class honours, who could not get an honours, and the rest that did not get to NUS? How would they fair in the eyes of these fake and dubious foreigners now masquerading as super talents by our duds and destroying the livelihood of our real talents?

99% of Singaporeans did not get a first class honours from NUS. And if first class honours from NUS are dismissed by these foreigners, your turn will be next. It is a matter of when. Get it?

This un-named Polytechnic decided to implement "smart" or "paperless" technology.

The lecture notes are now given to the students in soft-copy format only.

So now, thousands of students individually download the softcopy of their lecture notes.
And thousands of polytechnic students individually print out hardcopies of their lecture notes.

the emperors at the top, the workers at the bottom, and the eunuchs in the middle.

The ruler says, “I want my pyramid,” and the workers are the people who build it.
The eunuchs are the ones who shuffle papers.
They don’t do any real work.
Their objectives are to keep the emperor happy.

How to do that?
Keep the emperor entertained or distract him with other preoccupations.
Eunuchs destroy empires.
It was true in China and also in the West.
The Ottoman Empire was brought down by eunuchs too.

All they did was create problems between the emperors and the commanders who did real work out in the battlefields.

To ask Sinkies to vote for opposition is like asking a wall, only when these dafts Sinkies suffers extremes pressures then they might wake up or its too late...Ah Long & its administration knew bout the minds of these Sinkies & in the convention keep playing the 'kaki lang' abang Adik kind of music plus giving these dafts some honey or sweets & mind u these dafts wud jus fall flat by voting in Ah Long san again & again till the days of Sinkieland demise got nearer & nearer..

In 1800s, karma is such that in the Qing Dynasty, the divine supposedly sent some Eunuchs to bring down the empire. After which modern China after going through the turbulence of the early days from 1911 to 1949 through Warlordism, Civil War ... etc supposedly "stood up finally" in the words of Mao Tze Tong...

If anyone read that part of the Qing history, it is not difficult to know who are the villains ...

There were many treacherous traitors and decadent Imperial Court JLBs who are only interested in lavishing, pouring and deluging in their material extreme pleasure and gratification.

The Qing Dynasty China possessed the world's 4th strongest navy at that time and was number #1 in Asia but the promiscuous Dowager insisted in (mis)appropriating the military budget of billions and billions to build her White Elephant palace for her decadent pleasure and nauseating gratification.

Without proper and adequately sufficient ammunition, when the Sino-Jap war started in 1894, the Chinese Navy quickly ran out of ammo and eventually one by one was cornered and sunk by the Jap Imperial Naval force.

After the war, Qing Dynasty China was forced to cede Taiwan to the invader and pay a war reparation of trillions in today's currency.

It was recorded Dr Sun Yen San cut his ponytail in the busy district of the Imperial Capital as a protest of the totally inept and incompetence Qing Imperial Court.

Dr Sun Yen San was a western trained doctor which was quite rare at that time.

ExposΓ© (Part 1): Culture of Fraud in Singapore Universities

Flexible Standards of Honesty, Ethics and Fraud Exist.
Fraud Encourages Fraud. Fraud begets fraud; and then some.
It is just a matter of time. The erosion of integrity and authenticity must eventually destroy the moral basis for ethical management and burst the bubble of dishonesty.

The latest revelations that Singapore’s premier Nanyang Technological University (NTU) has revoked the 2013 PhD degree of a former Agency for Science, Technology and Research (A*Star) scientist, one Ms Sabeera Bonala, after she admitted that she had falsified data in her research and doctoral thesis.

This is the latest fallout in one of the biggest cases of scientific fraud in Singapore, which first came to light in July 2016. Six research papers were retracted then, including three that had listed Ms Bonala as the first author. Two other researchers have left their posts and another one had his PhD revoked in the earlier episode.

The trio involved in the 2016 scandal are Professor Ravi Kambadur, who was with NTU; Dr Mridula Sharma, who was associate professor at the National University of Singapore's (NUS) Yong Loo Lin School of Medicine; and former NTU researcher Sudarsanareddy Lokireddy, who had his PhD from NTU.

Dr Sharma is no longer at NUS and Dr Lokireddy’s PhD from NTU has also been revoked. NTU investigations in December 2015 led to 3 papers on Myostatin, a muscular growth protein, published in 2011 and 2012 being retracted. Another paper was withdrawn before publication and the other 2 papers were corrected. Three more papers published from 2012 to 2014, based on research funded by A*Star and the National Research Foundation (NRF), were also retracted from the prestigious Molecular Endocrinology and Biological Chemistry journals.

NTU has earlier in June 2016, following an unrelated investigation into allegations of research malpractice, retracted 11 academic papers authored by researchers from the National Institute of Education (NIE). Dr Noel Chia who joined NTU in 2006, promoted to Associate Professor in 2014, is the lead author of 8 papers and co-author of the other 3 papers. He was a well-known local expert in the area of special-education needs such as autism, dyslexia and dyscalculia. Of the 11 papers that came under investigation, 9 were published in the prestigious Journal of the American Academy of Special Education Professionals (JAASEP). /////

Part 2:

///// I am sadden by these revelations but not surprised. I have expected these research frauds to surface much earlier. As an NTU Associate Professor, I have been told some of most unbelievable research malpractice, and often similar things from more than one person! Here are just a few, albeit unverified:

1) The known record is nearly 40+ research papers claimed by a single staff (with various co-authors) in a single year. One Professor actually claims to have more than 1,000 publications over 15+ years, but whose expertise has remained relatively unknown!

2) It is “common” to have more than 10+ research papers per year claimed by a single staff (with various co-authors).

3) Many research papers claimed by a single staff (listed among first 3 authors) are in technical areas not within the staff’s known expertise, training or technical competence.

4) A paper where authorship claimed was 15th among a longer list of authors.

5) Cases of papers submitted under different titles, but with similar contents.

6) Cases of papers submitted under the same title to different journals.

7) Papers translated from their original non-English, foreign language, and claimed as one’s paper and submitted to a English-medium refereed journal.

8) …. And then some.

A Google Scholar search for the publications of senior Professors will return a lisiting of their publications and citations.

The prevalent NTU research practice of questionable ethics involves situations of "gratuitous" or "gift" authorship, where co-authors are added either by themselves or by their subordinates and where they were not involved in the research in any significant manner. Supervisors generally expect junior Professors to include them as “co-authors” as a matter of normative practice. The latter sees evidence that those who did so would often get compensated and promotions for their generosity in gratitude. /////

Anonymous said...

Part 3:
///// The Fraud Culture IS the New Normal
Especially noteworthy is the fact that the above affected Professors and staff joined the NTU and NUS at a time when the Universities have fully embraced the bogus and fraudulent World University Rankings standards. The timing is not coincidental.

By 2010, any seriousness in research vigorousness has been abandoned. Research integrity suffers as NUS and NTU blindly embraced THE [Times Higher Education] and QS Rankers, without demanding to examine the scientific basis of their “methodology”; especially the criterion factors selected as measures of “best” Universities, nor the population and samples of the respondents who participated in surveys purportedly conducted and whose “data” were used to compile the final annual league table rankings.

Finally by 2014, NTU was ranked as the Top Youngest University in the World by QS Ranker, from 77th in 2008, and ranking just 39th Worldwide.

The new guiding principle for integrity is "the end justifies the mean”. Authenticity has become immaterial and irrelevant as they buy into what the United Nations, UK and European Governments, as well as eminent Professors of Higher Education have already condemned as a bogus standard of questionable excellence.

Given the dodgy nature of World University Rankings and their questionable deliberate fabrication of unreliably unscientific methodologies, NTU victories to their top ranks are in essence as pyrrhic as winning a beauty contest; the mere appearance of uncertain meaningless quality.

By flaunting the bogus World University Rankings as its fake brand of questionable quality, both NTU and NUS have flouted its blatant disregard for research integrity and ethical authenticity.

Whither the basis of their moral authority to discipline their Professors and staff for their disdain and defiance of academic honesty and research integrity and ethics?

Where is NUS/NTU “zero tolerance” towards the research malpractice of the World University Rankings standards? By embracing and adopting it?

And indeed, whither NRF’s claim to “high expectations” with regard to research funding as it disburses millions of public funds to Universities who embrace and support fraudulent and bogus quality brands that have no integrity and authenticity?

End the Culture of Fraud in Singapore Universities, now!
Integrity lights our Path to Excellence.

Do it Right and Do it Best /////

China Promoting World Peace

BEIJING, Sept. 4 (Xinhua News):

A declaration and an action plan were adopted Tuesday at the 2018 Beijing Summit of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in the Great Hall of the People in Beijing.

The Beijing Declaration -- Toward an Even Stronger China-Africa Community with a Shared Future and the FOCAC Beijing Action Plan (2019-2021) were adopted at the two-phase roundtable meeting, chaired respectively by Chinese President Xi Jinping and President Cyril Ramaphosa of South Africa, the co-chair of the forum.

Xi said the summit over the past two days repeated the call for China-Africa win-win cooperation and common development.

Xi said the leaders have unanimously decided to build a China-Africa community with a shared future that assumes joint responsibility, pursues win-win cooperation, delivers happiness for all, enjoys cultural prosperity, ensures common security, and promotes harmony between man and nature.

Xi said they have unanimously adopted the summit's outcome documents, setting the direction for the development of China-Africa relations.

Xi said they have agreed to develop FOCAC into a brand of China-Africa solidarity and cooperation, and a banner that guides international cooperation with Africa under the principle of consultation, cooperation and benefit for all.

Xi said they have decided to firmly uphold an open world economy and the multilateral trading system, while opposing protectionism and unilateralism.

The vigorous development of China-Africa cooperation has not only promoted the progress of Africa, but also inspired international partners to pay closer attention to Africa and increase their input into and cooperation with the continent, Xi said.

African leaders spoke highly of the summit and agreed that it was a historic meeting strengthening Africa-China solidarity and cooperation.

They expressed support and appreciation for the Belt and Road Initiative, believing that the joint building of the Belt and Road by Africa and China will speed up African regional integration.

This is the first point to note.

........

99% of Singaporeans did not get a first class honours from NUS. And if first class honours from NUS are dismissed by these foreigners, your turn will be next. It is a matter of when. Get it?

This is how sick this little red dot has become, boiling inside a hot pan and not knowing that one is being cooked alive. Those living in the ivory tower are protected for the moment and think it will not happen to them. It will, their turn will come.

Mr Chua,

The latest on the ground is that many 1st Class Honours from NUS cannot secure a job after graduating last year May. Some in the end bor pian tak up temp job after more than a year of job search ... Some settle for a perm job that is far from commensurate with their field of study or qualification ... That is after moee than 1 year of job search ...

Imagine the agony and mental depression of those who supported and brought them up, spending hundreds of thousands on their education, tuition, driving them up and down to schs every morning for more than 20 years since nursery and thinking all will come to fruition and worth the sacrifice and investment ...

Sthg could be very wrong somewhere ...

So your perception that 1st Class is top notch may be out of date.

Now even fresh grad 1st class honours already kena in the job market ... Not even in their first or second job ...

Quite amazing ...

And worst still starting pay below $3500 after more than one year of unemployment upon graduation ...

In Economics, more than 6 months is no longer frictional unemployment but structural or even cyclical demand deficient unemployment.

Better think twice, thrice before taking the plunge ...

Spending up to millions and years of raising a kid just to face such problems ...

Make sense?

Pls sign more CECA?

The other scenario is some with 2nd class honours or cum laude degree join big firms but kena "kicked" out within 1 or 2 years ... The advice is firstly avoid certain firms like the Jackpeeniece cos especially for young Chinese males, unlikely they will be groomed by the Jackpeeniece. Reasons for hiring could be many and perhaps to meet "quota"?

One chap took a job $4100 upon grad with cum laude with one big jackpeeniece firm but everyday leave office early or on the dot. He certainly knows in his heart he is being condemned before he even started the job. After one year he left for another that offers similar pay through some network but the catch is his job is in a 3rd world country ... He took it cos cannot tahan being shelved in that jackpeeniece company though with full pay every month cos he felt he is rotting away day by day in that jackpeeniece firm ...

The thing is many uni only advertise 1st job pay without providing tracking over lifetime or at least over a 5, 10, 15 years period and thus another misleading indicator of the worth of a particular degree or even uni...?

Another "PianAhPeknomics" in action?

What is wrong with this place?

What has it become?

To finance a kid from baby to uni grad is no joke. All in enough to buy a condo. Up to sec sch more than enough for condo downpayment. Over one cycle can easily made downpayment for 2 to 3 condos ...? And that is factoring in the latest LTV (loan to valuation) ratio of about 50%.

To kena jobless prospect after that is plain mental and emotional torture for both parents and the children.

The Japanese work late but most are not really working hard. They just want to show the boss by staying late. It is a from of office culture.

I tend to agree that Chinese should not aspire to work in Japanese companies. They never last long, and never get to learn the ropes. It stems from a little bit of historical baggage and work culture differences.

Now that some companies in the West are embracing the 'work at home' doctrine, I wonder how this will work out for the Japanese workforce that aspire to stay in the office to show the boss?

Anonymous said...

Dont work for Japanese, you wouldnt make it to the top as basically they dont trust non-Japanese. Its an insular race. Though Japan is a great place for those who loves politeness, punctuality n cleaniless n of course good n cheap sushi.

Anonymous said...

Japanese punctuality and cleanliness is a commendable trait. But politeness, I beg to differ. Yes they bow and 'san san' you here and there, but do not be mistaken. When their arrogant and insular nature rears it's ugly head, it is nothing polite!

When I was working in a Japanese company, I had the biggest shock of my life when the Managing Director of the Company had a brush with a big gun from Japan. He was scolded loudly and viciously by the big gun in front of all the local staff in the office. It was more like a parent punishing a child for doing something wrong. At least the big gun should have done it privately and not in front of all the junior staff. I feel sorry for the Managing Director, a soft spoken man, for being reprimanded like a child in front of his staff. That and many other incidents changed my perception of Japanese politeness.

They spend most of their time entertaining and playing golf with their clients.

So, when their time is up, back home for permanent retirement.

When HO Principal came down, they have to wayang till they left for home with some good reports.

Most of their Management Staff are not interested in the local office politics and only concentrated on their line of responsibilities in management running or businesses.

It's the local chow kar mongrels of Black Ants, Yellow Eunches who are the Ones who stirred shits with the Japs Managers for their self interests

They will sabo those seemed to be threats to their positions.

2. The breakdown of jobs being taken up by these India PMET?

4. Has MAS been diligent or sleeping on the wheel in granting high paying banking jobs approval to 3rd world Indians instead of to Singaporeans? What is MAS stance & criteria?
Etc, etc.
There should be an open forum where Singaporean banking professionals n ex-professionals can air, collate n analysis the data, feedback, etc.

Another super post (30 July 2018) by Lao Hero (aka Redbean)

Part 1:

///// 7/30/2018
Tan Cheng Bock and the birth of Singapore Harapan
This is the biggest piece of political news that surfaced over the weekend. SDP's Chee Soon Juan had rounded up the opposition parties to a meeting that sowed the seed of a united front against the PAP in the shades of Pakatan Harapan. For decades the Singapore opposition parties have been divided and factionalised into different tiny ineffective parties fighting hopelessly against the mammoth PAP machine. The quest was quite hopeless and very amusing if not silly to see them banging their heads against the wall. It was foolish and futile but they kept going at it as if a miracle will happen to change their fate.

The trumping of UMNO in Malaysia led by a 92 year old ex PM has been an eye opener to the conceited and hopeless party leaders of Singapore, like a mirror being held right in their faces to show their folly. It took Chee Soon Juan, the man that has been demolished and character assassinated as a lone ranger, fighting just for his own personal cause, to step up to dispel this myth. No other opposition party leaders was selfless enough to make this move, to bring in a third party in the name of Tan Cheng Bock, to unite the frail and fractured opposition parties together for a common cause, to bring down the PAP. This move alone tells a lot about Chee Soon Juan, the man that they did not know or told to believe as otherwise. The real spoilt sport, those that would not want to be a team player, those who have selfish agenda, would not think of coming together in an alliance to be a real political force to be reckon with.

Tan Cheng Bock may not be a Mahathir, but he has enough respect from the people, conviction and commitment to do the necessary for the good of Singapore and the future of Singaporeans. It takes a lot of guts and conviction to want to do something like this, to bring down the ruling party, a once mighty political party that had done good for the country and people in the first few decades of its exixtencwe. Things must have gone very badly wrong for an ex PAP stalwart to want to stand up to his old party that he once believed was the force of goodness. /////

Anonymous said...

Part 2:

///// The fear is gone. Tan Cheng Bock has taken a bold step that no ex PAP MPs or ministers dare to tread. The line is broken and hopefully this would encourage more ex PAP members to join the queue in this Harapan to do what is right. Many must have seen the rot and are fuming but for one reason or another, chose to remain in the dark corners of anonymity wallowing in self pity. The robbing of the people must be stopped. The selling out of Singaporeans to foreigners must be stopped. PRs are just passing by and will go when the time is right. Cheng Bock has lighted a match to show the way. It is time to make a difference, to do what they believe is right and good for Singapore and Singaporeans, not for locals and foreigners that are not Singaporeans. /////

Lau Goh basically is a coward, greedy, cunning, opportunistic fair-weather animal. He had rather cling on to the amount of money he is getting now than risk being a "Mahathir". He does not have the conviction to champion for Singaporeans. He was the very culprit who introduced many taxing and pricing measures to suck money from the masses. He was the traitor who started importing foreigners to replace and displace Singaporeans. He does not have the guts to go against the Dishonourable Son.

The Black Swans are the New Citizens. While many of the imported Indians tend to convert themselves to PR, many of the early batches of imported Chinese have been converted to New Citizens. The majority of these New Citizens have been voting PAP in the past. However, the relentless, continuous, repeated belittling and aggressions towards China and the Chinese People by PAP leaders and lapdogs in the past two years have angered these New Citizens. Therefore, they may throw in protest votes to get back at the PAP LEEdership.

//Lau Goh once labelled as "Kayu" by LKY,where are you?? Humiliated still thick skins carry on under now his Son's balls. SEAT WARMER.//

According to some backward induction deduced logical hypothesis, this "hum chee" was meant to warm the seat for NOT 14 years but just slightly beyond the 1991 GE?

Alas, (old) man proposed, divine disposed?

In 1992, while in Africa, news like "lightning struck" back home that 2 deputies kena "some spell" liao ...? Is it true?

So the story goes ..... This "hum chee" then managed to "warm the seat" originally "scripted"?

But the "script" NEVERTHELESS have to be "played out" ... bef bucket kicked the leg after the 2003 scare but recovered?

4 years before the 2008 irreversible "karma", the "hum chee' was "kicked out" and the real "son of heaven enthroned" ...?

This hum chee recently went matland island holiday and acted as if he 3-yo cute small boy?

To compare hum chee to madhater is maciam a "candle" light to the SUN.

A far cry?

Cannot be any further?

Just like gal gal quited lo(oooooo)ng aGOA for red hair Tuaaaaaaaa KEEEEEEEE, this "hum chee" may have "QUiteD" lo(ooooooooo)ng aGOA on peesainites ...?

Hoping for this "hum chee" will be aka "Harapan Kosong"?

When history is investigated and written maybe 20 or 30 years from now by more objective non-political players on Singapore the likely outcome maybe:
1. LKY like Chairman Mao initially did much good to the people & country. But along time made major mistakes that bring more n more sufferings to the people; eg stop at 2, very early education streamlining, paper generals parachuting into skill-based entreprenuerial key positions with irrelevant army command & control background, and appointment of son & daughter-in-law, and the near total elimination of opposition with unfair measures resulting in an entitlement-based non-competitive ruling elites.
2. The outflow of Singapore talents to various parts of the world while taking in so many unproven FTs from China & then even more from India so quickly changing its essence as a nation n people.
3. The progressive dynamic Singapore from 1960 to 1990 was lost along bigger n bigger and more costly bureaucracies led by million dollars paid politicians from one party inevitably stifling its people & talents & the sacrificial spirit of noble public service.
I hope it will be better for Singaporeans.

Accept it! CECA India nationals flooding Singapore jobs market is the new normal !

There's nothing that Sinkies can do to reverse the trend.

They are here to stay, and increase!

CECA ensures massive India PMET invades Singapore n destroy Singaporeans PMET. The only solution is to ensure massive invaders of Sinkies representatives in PARLIAMENT n out vote PAP n put proper measures to block this replacement invasion. If not very soon Sinkie PMET are gling to EAT GRASS.

Solution: VOTE opposition.A monkey is better than a pappies.
