Malaysian GE 2018 – Is the power struggle settled?
The bargaining and unhappiness within the Pakatan Harapan coalition is getting serious and the division is coming into the open. Pakatan Harapan is not the multi racial party fighting for a Malaysian Malaysia as it was touted to be. Mahathir and his peers were surprisingly calling for a Malaysian Malaysia and PKR is turning out to be another Malay supremist party. This revelation is going to put a wedge in the new coalition.
The minority Chinese have put everything they got into DAP for a Malaysian Malaysia and are getting a rude shock with PKR opposing the appointment of Lim Guan Eng as the Finance Minister on racial ground. How is the Chinese community and other minority parties going to take this change? PKR is taking the Chinese community for granted again, just like UMNO treating the MCA and MIC. Would they be thinking of a realignment, breaking away from Harapan? If shove comes to push, would DAP jump into bed with UMNO that is desperately looking for a new coalition to remain in power and willing to give more concessions to the other minority parties?
The PH won 113 seats, inclusive of 42 from DAP while UMNO had 79 seats. This means that PH without DAP only had 71 seats, putting aside the new shifting of some independent and UMNO MPs to PH. If DAP were to join UMNO under new terms and form the govt, there would be another round of changing sides. The is still an outside chance for Najib to make a last attempt to forge a new coalition with DAP and other minority groups. As they said, there is no permanent enemies but permanent interests. If Najib and UMNO could strike a deal with DAP, they will be back in business.
The situation is still very fluid and anything can happen in Malaysia. Anwar may not be the PM if things turn sour with the coalition. The minority parties, especially the DAP, may have second thought with this new bedfellow unmasking itself. Remember, Malaysia boleh, anything also boleh.
Another strange development coming from this GE, if Mahathir can hold on to the premiership, is that he may do Singapore a big favour by terminating many contracts with China, scuttling the plans for Malacca or Port Klang to replace Singapore as the new shipping hub of the region. Singapore may have Mahathir to thank for to relive its glories days as the number one sea port in the region.
Many plans and dreams are now in suspense when the devils revealed what they truly are too prematurely, no more hiding behind a smiling mask.

Malaysia politics is now in a perilous state of flux. Unless there is plenty of give and take, the coalition is danger of disintegration. Dr Mahathir's wisdom and experience will be stretched to breaking point to keep PH united. The DAP has the trump card. Unless its contribution to PH is recognised and appreciated, BN may be tempted to come a calling to entice DAP into replacing the MCA. When that happens, sparks will fly.
What's wrong with Lim Guan Eng being the Finance Minister??
Chinese brains "What's Wrong with making MORE monies???"
Tun Tan Siew Sin was the First Finance Minster in Tengku Rahman's cabinet and brought prosperity with his Sins of Malaysia Boleh to Greater Heights.
Lim Guan Eng as Chartered Accountant and had proved Penang to be doing well in fact as Finance Minister is demoted as Chief Minister.
Rb, it could be fake news spreading to cause damage to the current government. So be very careful
One thing for sure --- M'sia will still survive as independent country 100 years from now. Singapore won't.
Anon 1:39pm, this piece of news is reported everywhere, including our main media. It is highly likely to be true.
@ RN 2:19 pm:
"... including our main media. It is highly to be true."
Ha ha ha ha ... So, to RB, whatever that is reported in our main media, it is highly to be true?
Our main media reported repeatedly and convingly that Hillary Clinton 90% elected as US President. Highly to be true?
To this clown, once his father had a moustache, so everyone with a moustache must be his father. Gong kia.
RB, after anon told him not to open his mouth to show his stupidity he not happy and keeps coming back for more.
I think Anwar Ibrahim is a honourable man. A Humble Plea to Mahathir, the time has come for you to say "Selamat Tinggal" (goodbye) to politics.
Quote,
“Even though we are the government now, we can’t be the one to determine what is true and what is false, as provided in the Bill. Just because we say something is true, doesn’t mean it’s true and just because we say something is false, doesn’t mean it is false,” he told a press conference at the Khazanah Nasional office here.
He said the Anti-Fake News law is wrong as anyone found guilty of spreading it could be jailed up to six years.
“We can’t put someone in jail for this. It is against freedom of press and against people’s fundamental rights,” he said..."

Now, after jumping into bed together, they are beginning to see not only the true shape of their bodies, chest, hips and buttocks, but also what is inside their hearts and heads.
The development does not surprise me. An alliance is very difficult to work well, because everyone wants the best piece of the kill. DAP supporters will be very disappointed if it now turns out to be back to square one for all their efforts to bring down UMNO and their racial politics.
What's wrong with Lim Guan Eng being Finance Minister? Clearly the race factor is at play again, despite the talk of a Malaysian Malaysia before the election. And without the contribution of the DAP, can PH be in power now?
If DAP does the unthinkable of joining UMNO, all hell will break lose. And Anwar can bid farewell to his long dream of being PM. And if Najib does, by a miracle, really come back, this time I think he will not be playing tickle tickle with Mahathir for sure.
Well, after all the euphoria, dark clouds are again gathering in Malaysia.
ETALING JAYA: A senior PKR leader today dismissed claims that party president Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail had not wanted an ethnic Chinese to be the finance minister.
Speaking to FMT, the leader who declined to be named said PKR was the only truly multiracial party, which could be seen from its leadership composition.
This followed a report by Singapore’s Straits Times (ST) quoting a Pakatan Harapan (PH) source who said Wan Azizah had wanted the finance portfolio for PKR. The source also claimed Wan Azizah had said a Chinese should not take the post.
On Saturday, DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng was named as finance minister in Prime Minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s administration, and would become the first Malaysian Chinese in 44 years to hold the position.
He had pledged to ensure that “no one is left out”, saying: “I’m Malaysian, I don’t see myself as Chinese.”
The PKR leader told FMT that the claims in the ST article were “completely fabricated and false”.
The above is posted in FMT news. If this claim against what was posted in msm here is true, then the msm is publishing fake news. Now who is going to answer for that? Who has to apologise for such a mischievous report? Or not enough due diligence, no checking of facts?
Who is telling the truth? Can msm print fake news?
All this garment actions on fake news are shooting themselves on the feet. Man's fake is tomorrow truth, today's truth is tomorrow fake. Truth belongs to God, lie belongs to Satan. Stay away, don't play God or even Satan.

The Straits Times has come under fire for allegedly publishing errors or misleading statements in three separate articles within one week.
The first article was about how a woman’s skirt was caught on an escalator at Bugis Junction, prompting passers-by to shatter the escalator glass to free the woman. The Straits Times article, however, seemed to suggest that the glass shattered when the woman who was caught pulled her dress forcefully.
Read the Independent for the details.
The Straits Times has been repeatedly ranked 151st not for nothing. It is the biggest propaganda and fake news producer as far as I am concerned.
It is not the same as your father telling lies once ir twice.
Trust it at your own peril.
That is why I said its fake news cause Western press also has article of that effect. They just wanted to undermine the present government. So Rb fell into their trap.
I believed that the right thing for Rb to do is to post another article to correct the fake post. As Rb has always been credible, to admit one mistake will only make him more credible in the future
At this point in time, it is better not to jump into conclusion. There are two sides of the story and who is telling the truth is not confirmed. Wait for one party to come out and apologise.
Is anyone here at the scene to know the truth? What we hear will give us an impression of which party is likely to be telling the truth or half truth.
