59 interviewees attended the Select Committee on fake news
Out of 59 people interviewed by this Committee, only 4 objected to more stringent laws to curb fake news. Oops, I forgot to add the Facebook rep and the objections from Google and Twitters. So, with so many people in favour of stringent laws, not sure about the 3.5 million Singaporeans, the majority win. So the people favour more stringent laws to protect them from fake news. Anyone out there saying No? I can’t hear you, or you are not counted, irrelevant. The gods said so and have decided.
From the reports in the media, the impression I got from the questions posed by the committee members, it seems that they are all for more stringent laws and they were there to convince everyone interviewed why more stringent laws are needed. At least that is what I perceived. My question, is the job of this Select Committee to gather feedback, a consultation platform, or is its job to tell everyone interviewed to comply, that more stringent laws on fake news are good?
Oh, Edwin Tong said the existing laws not enough and many things related to fake news cannot be charged in court. Please, can I have some examples of what are not covered by the existing laws and fake news writers can write them and get a way from being charged in courts? Surely there must be real examples right? It cannot be red herrings right, or test balloons? Oops, cannot say test balloons, afterwards got to apologise.
I think everyone would like Edwin Tong or whoever who said that there are things that are not covered by existing laws to give specific examples and not just say things but cannot give examples right? Please do not use the Cambridge Analytica case as this is cyber espionage or cyber warfare. This is more than just fake news, it is conspiracy.
It cannot be like got people go to Batam and spent all their CPF savings to live like emperors for a few days so everyone’s CPF savings kena locked up. Can give examples or not? Or if only a handful, why everyone is punished? Why waste so much of the time of super talents and demi gods to talk about something that only a handful of people would violate and better still, not covered by our existing laws? How much money and precious time were wasted on this thing called fake news? Come to think about it everything one does not agree can be fake news.
What do you think?

1. What is the definition of "fake news"?
2. Who has the authority to define "fake news" so that the definition can be accepted internationally by any court of law, whether it is in the US, China, India, Russia, France, Brazil, UK or Singapore?
3. Who or which country has legally and officially defined "fake news"?
4. Who is the final authority if there is a dispute with regard to the definition for "fake news"?
5. Can a small group of members of parliament from Singapore arbitrarily and unilaterally decide on the definition of "fake news" for the whole world to follow?
6. What will other countries think, since this "fake news" issue involves the Internet and Cyberspace, which encompasses every country in the world?
What was the purpose(s) to interview the 59 people?
What was the basis for selecting the 59 people?
Are the inputs of only 59 interviewees adequate and appropriate to determine the fate of millions of people's freedom of expression for the present and future generations?
The whole process as it turned out was not thorough and all-encompassing. The committee picked and chose people who were likely to agree instead of allowing dissenting views and counter-arguments against the proposal to introduce new laws. Therefore, it can be assumed that the decision to introduce new laws has already been made and the process of going through the select committee was just to borrow weight for the decision which has been made.
In other words, it was just an elaborate wayang kulit show!
Ok all news to be reported thus. "either in Singapore or outside singapore."is the best.% And band magic.
Witch hunting has returned.
People will flip less dictionaries to use words
Better be safe. Fake news automatically band use
Of certain terms.
All the while, they themselves been spouting FAKE news thru their Propaganda Agencies and their running skunks committees and they want to accuse others of Real news been Fake news.
Why their own Selective Committee consists mainly of their Own Select Members??
PUI!!
Human beings always have 2 sides to a story: Husband has his side, wife has his side. Both can be reasonable, yet still partial truth, partial lie, partial information.
To legislate truth & fake and be the determinant in essence is to say "I am God", what arrogance!
Only God the Creator is the Truth, the rest, we human beings are grossly imperfect, partial fake & partial truth.
This Party pride & greed has sky rocket to the roof.
Please restraint & have some humility, if not this country will fall fast & sharp.
Blessed Good Friday: HE said, "forgive them for they know not what they are doing." Only this Man can determine what is truth & fake.
High cost of living. How.?
I more concern.
High costs...ask ministers lah..why fees n tariffs n taxes keep hiking? So simple...the biggest landlord n law maker decides n inflicts meh...the world has low n disinflation for 25 yrs with huge techno advances how can things get so expensive? You tell me lah?
U believe in reading news only like those old folks only buying wanpau, how can u spread fake news? Why they are not invited to select committee? Instead there were ang mor talking from their own East Europe perspective about fake news.
There are thousand and thousand of comments online. One is this site s comments. If this is fake news, then there is no online expression. The island state should start a super computer to identify words about politicians deem to be fake news key words, and hiring all ns men to read every lines of those comments. Stand by ang chia. Out they go to nip these fake news sound at homes, from 2 rooms to condos.
It is what the committee tries to stop news not favorable to the pee and pee political influence. The deemed these undesirable fake news that reduce their perfect trust built with their "pee per". They pee on them and admitted more than citizens numbers. They do not provide real news about citizens unemployment rate. They claim they provided "locals" unemployment rate, many thot was citizens unemployment rate. Was this fake news? It is official perceptual to not tell citizens unemployment rate. How do citizen define fake news? News the politicians dont want to hear because it has impact on their political gains.
The eventual sinkie world will likely be the shit time only. Social media like backside book will only allowed to publish politicians faces. By the way, backside book users got conned and their particulars and postings are used to sell to some political analytic group to make money. Even in Malaysia election. How come not in other near by countries? U tell me lah.
Election is coming soon. Stay healthy to draw your cpf. Do not read social media. But now a days, children are so accustomed to read pictures. Can pee and pee also ban camera on handphones? Only no cam handphone is salable on island.
Ban handphone ban camera ban social media, to control news. But how about also banning wearing red underwear? Can get special luck you know. How to ban opposition s luck? Check their underwear also. U tell me lah.
Aiya.. RB never learn.. this committee is not important la.. by the time the shit float to the top u already know it must be smelly n unsightly.. what is more important are all the other committees nobody hear about... the ones who decide to prolong the cpf agony.. the ones who decide gst increases.. the ones who decide on multi prong attack on ahtc.. so on n so forth.. in fact which committee decided to hold the present wayang committee. . Can u imagine.. all the ministers in the pmo doing nothing but attend committee meetings.. there must be hundreds of them.. ranging from oxleygate to what brand of tissue paper to use.. so relax bro.. the biggest perpetrator of false news is the gov't either by massaging statistics or withholding information .. etc etc.. perhaps the only thing u should worry about is that one day they may legislate against false opinions...hehehe.. dont worry they'll try n find a way...)))
A photo tells a thousand words, tells the truth, so now they're trying to ban photos!
Hi Jigg, not only legislate what's "fake" but truthful and adverse opinions on them but make sure no opinions on them.
To the bro of Red Underwater. Back from Genting with CNY bright red underwear on first day. Lost to csdinis.Second day red belt. Returned lost with interests.
Sometimes Red Underwear DONT worked
joke joke
cheers
Never heard of a group called can.
"We note also that Law Minister K Shanmugam had opined last year that legislation against fake news was a “no brainer”. However, according to the Terms of Reference, the Select Committee was set up to examine possible measures that can be taken to combat online falsehoods. A plain reading shows that legislation is just one possible option, not a foregone conclusion."
Do u think a lawyer will not make laws to control by enhancing his "i tell u not to do this to displease me"? What can a train financial man do to tell u story? He uses figures. A lawyer uses laws to control. It is so simple to watch what these politicians are going to do next.
By the way, where is the select committee to look into WP Sylvia Lim s "say sorry" important matter to the whole budget debate? Under the state of laws, there must be an ending with law woman on records, She must sign off.
All by laws is good. Take picture on street must apply to some ministry if can take one only picture. Can? Go ahead on the time allowed. No, dont take the picture, the authority will find out you know.
But the lawyers fail. The lawyers must tell the International Court Of Justice in Hague, that it is illegal to send pictures from sinkieland to South China Sea countries to publish. How to control South China Sea islands? Problems come oredi. Tio boh? The islands not belonged China, there are JB, KL, phillippines, taiwan, vietnams, etc, all can setup servers to publish the photos and news. So sinkie lawyers must arrest control on these places to stop them to publish any news about sinkieland. How to do it in future? U tell me lah.
Come to think about it, sinkieland needs to have nuclear missiles to threaten these countries to obey sinkielands. Tau kee, tio boh?
My post on a previous thread "Don't Fake The News"
I'll just add to that:
1. Hey Uncle RB, do you see how my "Matilah Singapura" prediction ("prophecy", if you think I shit divinity cos' I have so much of it) is cumming to pass?
2. It is not the government's fault. The people keep voting for these people. And the people remain noticeably passive (as you've stated) when their rights to free expression are chipped away, piece by piece.
3. Many political science scholars (if you actually believe there's a "science" about politics...I don't. It's an ART) believe that oppression is bad, removing basic rights from people is bad, dictatorships, tyrants, totalitarianism, nepotism...all forms of power concentration...all very fucking bad.
4. The Sheeple of Singapore have made a total mockery of all these "political theories" proving, beyond doubt that "political science" is not a science at all. So close down those "fake academic departments in Political Science" IMMEDIATELY. π
5. The Gestapo Committee Against Wilful Fake News arrives at conclusions which most of us consider "Fake News". Irony? Fuck yeah...We The Citizens Of Singapore season our food with irony. We are hilarious...talk about the punchline to a joke... We Are THE Punchline! π€£... Wah, buay tahan...
6. The Singapore Govt continues to successfully control and regulate the lives of individual Singaporeans. But that is not all. Now they've successfully roped in the multinational companies who facilitate (supposedly...actually they're in it for the money) the freedom of speech and expression (no longer!). Who would have thought that a govt from one of the world's tiniest cuntries could end up THREATENING some of the richest publicly traded corporations in human history? Have to admit: That's impressive!! ππΎπΈπ¬

U are correct red underwear dont work to u.
U believe in it, it might work. U dont believe in it, it will not work.
Its exactly the same some lawyer believe in using laws to control everything on sinkieland s comments. The ah long san thought he will live longer than 91, so these laws are convenient to stop people taking pictures of what law enforcement, uniformed or not do. Not allow to take picture.
Its the believe in mind, it will work and all sinkies will not hold a cam handphone just in case someone plain cloth comes around to check the gallery, uu take picture boh? Uu take, this side. Boh take, go home.
U believe in the concept of red underwear, it may work. This red underwear plan has interviewed so many experts, to write out the books will take one month to read them.
How many laws can branch out of the book? U tell me lah. Believe in it, it will work. The old hacks in pee and pee will live pass 91 to enjoy the laws controlling the meek citizens and foreigners. How nice to believe in red underwear. U say cannot work. He says can.
It cannot be like got people go to Batam and spent all their CPF savings to live like emperors for a few days so everyone’s CPF savings kena locked up.
RB
Aiyo, if PAP govt say such things, of course cannot be lah. And if cannot be, why would u take it seriously?
And also whether u take it seriously or not, PAP also don't care, as long as they have the mandate to lock everyone’s CPF savings up, correct or not?
@ all my humsup, cheekopek, lau ter kor Uncle-brothers out there, who follow the teachings of agongkia,
If the govt ever comes to a decision to ban red knickers, we should organise a protest at Hong Lim. We must never allow such legislation to pass. All male law enforcement personnel who come to "observe" at Hong Lim should immediately be invited to join our struggle against such an unacceptable assault by the government on our basic rights to be Dirty Old Men.
What is the point of spending small fortunes on Viagra, Tongkat Ali and sundry to keep our wrinkled old cocks stiffer and more solid than the rebar supporting our tallest skyscrapers? Exactly, no point whatsoever! We will get angry; we will get proactive; we will stop this nonsense; but we will never stop fucking! π΄π½
I don't care what world-class symphony or musical artist is featured at The Esplanade, Theatres By The Bay...to many or most of us the best music we have is inspirational sounds of Geyland... music often heightened to the Celestial Realms by the use of RED UNDERWEAR by those sweet ladies who look after our basic biological requirements. Because we all know, without lots of fucking, there can be no Singapore.
Singapore was built on the unceasing ji bai poking of us in our younger days. It is unwise to lose the important skills gained over years of practice and experience. Thus we continue in our dedicated practice, aided by pharmaceuticals, pounding puki as a service to our illustrious homeland.
The Hum Sup Uncle Brigade performs an important National Service which is crucial to the security of the nation. Let's suppose the unimaginable...suppose a huge number of our valiant young sons are wiped out in a war... It's then be up to us to fuck as many of the pretty young women of child-bearing age to re-populate our nation, ensuring the continuity of our culture and society.
This is how important defending the right for women to wear red underwear.
It's our duty as upstanding citizens. I nominate agongkia as Brigadier General to lead.
Brigade, sedi...AH! Hormat senja....TA! π€‘

Correct lah very good for the NS men. They thot they paid high price for their flat. Now they retire, the cpf will be big big for them to spend on their children education.
Sorry cannot take out the balance.
See pei ho. Many now will be more determined to give pee and pee more mandate to raise the minimum sum 100%.
But cannot find jobs to pay for daily expenses. Official news say old citizens are fully employed. Unemployment is very low here.
When election time, all must support the raise in cpf minimum sum. Must support giving jobs to foreigners to build a young and (rugged) nation. Rugged what?
Foreigners must do NS lah, so citizens can earn more to pay for family jobless parents, cannot take out cpf. The sons are 18, but cannot provide take home allowance to feed the siblings and support their education. 18 yr old sons for what?
Pap will pass laws to ask foreigners to do ns. Also no cpf to spend, out of job, what retire?
Just a Joke of Today's No More Data So Called Protection:-
`Hello! Is this Gordon's Pizza? No sir, it's Google's Pizza.Did I dial the wrong number?
No sir, Google bought the pizza store. Oh, alright - then I like to place an order please. Okay sir, do you want the usual? The usual? You know what my usual is?
According to the caller ID, the last 15 times you have ordered a 12-slice with double-cheese, sausage, and thick crust. Okay-that's what I want this time too.May I suggest that this time you order an 8-slice with ricotta, arugula, and tomato instead?
No, I hate vegetables. But your cholesterol is not good. How do you know? Through the subscribers guide. We have the results of your blood tests for the last 7 years.Maybe so, but I don't want the pizza you suggest.I already take medicine for high cholesterol. But you have not taken the medicine regularly. 4 months ago you purchased from Drugsale Network a box of only 30 tablets.I bought more from another drugstore. It's not showing on your credit card sir.I paid in cash. But according to your bank statement you did not withdraw that much cash.I have another source of cash. This is not showing on your last tax form, unless you got it from an undeclared income source.
To HELL With Ur Pizza!!ENOUGH!!I'm sick of Google, Facebook, Twitter, and WhatsApp. I'm going to an island without internet, where there's no cellphone line, and no one to spy on me. I understand sir, but you need to renew your PASSPORT. It expired 5 weeks ago.
So, Nothing is Secret.

I still not sure whether 1k salary
Can buy hdb flat.where this news generated???
@ Virgo & 147:
Virgo, it's not possible to enjoy all the fruits of modern civilization by moving to a place with no internet, and try as you might, as a senior citizen born and bred in a city...to live like Tarzan. Within a few minutes you'll end up as a predator's meal lah. π You probably won't even survive to take your next shit. And the thing which eventually kills you will move so fast, you won't even have time to take your last shit! π
>> switch off your gps location is the number one step. <<
No point. As long as you have "Baseband" in your device, and a battery in it (no need to even have a SIM installed), your device is transmitting. I use Faraday sleeves which I put all my devices into if I venture to what I consider "unsecured" environments. (All environments are essentially unsecured..only differing by degree)...like Indonesian/ Malaysian airports, China public spaces (China govt very good at surveillance), and of course Australia/ UK/ USA/ EU. The govts in ALL "Five Eyes" cuntries mines ALL META DATA (and shit they don't tell us) for retention etc. Australian Federal Police dump the entire contents from cell towers. Everyone is Australia is under surveillance, all the time.
You can buy Faraday sleeves over the internet. But when you get one, test it. Put you phone inside and seal it properly. Then use another phone to call. If your phone rings inside the Faraday sleeve, then you've just wasted your money.
On older phones, you can take out the battery. Most new phones you can't. The "off" switch on your phone is software driven. Even when OFF, your phone is still transmitting to the nearest cell tower. It's that fucking Baseband. ( For Android folks go Settings==> About Phone==> scroll down to Baseband version.)
All the tech savvy rich cuntries are increasing the use of Facial Recognition algorithms, and now even law enforcement drones are being equipped with the capability. Gait-analysing algorithms (analysing and storing the way you walk) has been used for over a decade already...no big deal. When you go to passport control at most airports now and have to look into the camera...that's facial recognition at work.
If you want to venture to places like Geyland (pleanty of security cameras ok? Dun pray pray), here are some tips. They won't protect you 100% (nothing will!), but you might increase your chances of not being identified, even if you are being tracked.
1. Wear baseball cap, sunglasses, a hoodie and a face mask---the ones people wear during the haze or if they're sick, or don't want to get sick from exposure to all sorts of germs in public spaces.
2. Try to change the way you walk. Tip: if you flex your buttocks when you walk, you gait will change.
3. Pay cash for your travels. Never use your own vehicle. Never call or order transport. Flag down from the road...preferably AWAY from your house, office or any regular place of habit. If you use bus or train, stop away from your destination and flag down a cab for the rest of your journey. As always pay cash.
4. Always blend in with your environment. If you go to a foreign city, look at the clothes the average person is wearing, and go to a cheap store or pasar malam type stall and buy clothes. Don't wear you stylo-milo Singapore Orchard Rd gear, carry camera and look like a tourist. Blend in lah!!
OK, good luck!
TOC has one news. Four lying motionless on road. One Merc drove against the traffic. He also hit the pedestrians to become motionless.
Drunk driving could be as nearby had cantonmen loot clubs.
There was no report on court case. Can this be real news or fake news because the shit time did not report it.
P.S.
I forgot to mention...Know that there are 3 operating systems running on your phone. There's the one you can see and interact with like Android, iOS, Blackberry, Windows, Symbian...whatever your phone has installed.
Then there are the 2nd and 3rd. They are the Baseband OS, and surprise, surprise, a tiny OS which runs on your SIM card! These are ultra low power, but they are always "on".
You know Siri works. You also know that "OK Google", the Google Assistant always works. i.e. your microphone is always listening. What about the cameras? Just hazard a guess lah..π
In Singapore, phone addiction is a cultural fixture. If you take a random sample in public, around 80%+ of people are on their phones., all unaware that they're being tracked, data mined for their habits and travel from one location to the next. Every telco in Singapore has to abide with anything Home Affairs throws at them. If Home Affairs commands, "Take down your pants and bend over" all our telcos would obey the request like a recruit on a parade square.
We don't need thought control....all in all making us another brick in the wall?
Soon the citizens will become sterile n with our one-track type rules n rule by law leaders. Spore will sink fast.
Singapore is actually the Lucky Country....3 million locals with national reserves of more than $1 trillion. 10% return a year is more than $100bln. We just need to hire the truly best & most skillful investment managers & traders, and all of us can shake legs & do truly creative & passionate things lah. No need FTs at PMET level at all.
We though can accommodate some at the top brain & capital FTs, while with lots of low level FT workers.
The Reserve, if properly accounted for, is not $1 Trillion but $2-$3 Trillion, nearer to $3 Trillion.
Based on 10% to 12% annual returns, compound interests, it should garner at least $300 billion per annum.
Based on population of 3 million, how much will each person get annually if equally distributed to the stake-holders, instead od paying exhorbitantly and obscenely to only the top 1%?
The Select Committee Is Fake News
International human rights watchdog group Human Rights Watch (HRW) concluded that the recent public hearings and consultations held by the Singapore government-controlled Select Committee is fake and just a “media event” for show:
“The committee’s actions have made it clear that this is not a serious and good faith effort to discuss a HRW report from December last year. Instead, it is clearly an effort to discredit critics of Singapore’s repressive policies and practices related to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly. Instead, it is clearly an effort to discredit critics of Singapore’s repressive policies and practices related to freedom of expression, association, and peaceful assembly. We have therefore reluctantly come to the conclusion that these hearings are not a true consultation on how best to deal with ‘fake news’, but a media event aimed to showcase those who agree with the government’s views and criticise those who do not.”
In Dec last year, HRW published a 192 page report citing legal references and called for the Singapore government to stop interfering with media publication and obstructing freedom of speech. The report titled “Kill the chicken to silence the monkeys”, was labelled as fake news by the ruling party representative.
HRW’s representative then opted to skip the public hearing, saying that he has other more urgent matters to attend to. The absence infuriated Law Minister K Shanmugam who accused the HRW of being “guilty” and not being able to defend their report criticisng the government.
HRW also pointed out that the Select Committee did not even present a draft bill for discussion, as earlier indicated by journalism freedom watchdog Reporters Without Borders (RSF). The RSF has earlier explained their absence stating that a public consultation without a draft bill is a waste of time as there is nothing to “consult” about:
“If the committee or government genuinely wants our input on the proposed ‘fake news’ law, they should make the draft available to us a reasonable time – such as two weeks – before it is tabled in Parliament.”
Facebook - Another 'Ugly Truth' Revealed
Andrew Bosworth - who co-invented Facebook's News Feed - has held high-level posts at the social network since 2006, and is currently in charge of its virtual reality efforts.
A Facebook memo by Andrew Bosworth has been leaked to the public domain, further embarrassing Facebook.
The 18 June 2016 memo:
"So we connect more people.
That can be bad if they make it negative. Maybe it costs a life by exposing someone to bullies. Maybe someone dies in a terrorist attack co-ordinated on our tools.
And still we connect people.
The ugly truth is that we believe in connecting people so deeply that anything that allows us to connect more people more often is *de facto* good. It is perhaps the only area where the metrics do tell the true story as far as we are concerned.
That's why all the work we do in growth is justified. All the questionable contact importing practices. All the subtle language that helps people stay searchable by friends. All of the work we do to bring more communication in. The work we will likely have to do in China some day. All of it.
--------------------------------
Bosworth has since tweeted that he "didn't agree" with the post at the time he had posted it, but he had shared it with staff to be "provocative."
Mark Zuckerberg has issued his own statement.
"Boz is a talented leader who says many provocative things.
This was one that most people at Facebook including myself disagreed with strongly. We've never believed the ends justify the means."
A follow-up report by the Verge revealed that dozens of Facebook's employees have subsequently used its internal chat tools to discuss concerns that such material had been leaked to the media.
Analysis
That which is immediately significant about this leaked memo is the phrase: "all the questionable contact importing practices".
When I downloaded my Facebook data recently, it was the presence of thousands of my phone contacts that startled me. But the Facebook's attitude seemed to be that this was normal and it was up to users to switch off the function if they didn't like it.
What we now know is that in 2016 a very senior executive thought this kind of data gathering was questionable.
So, why is it only now that the Facebook is having a debate about this and other dubious practices?
Until now, Facebook has not been leaky. Perhaps we will soon get more insights from insiders as this adolescent business tries to grow up and come to terms with its true nature.
The disclosure coincided with Facebook's latest efforts to address the public and investors' concerns with its management.
Its shares are trading about 14% lower than they were before the Cambridge Analytica scandal began, and several high profile figures have advocated deleting Facebook accounts.
The company hosted a press conference on Thursday, at which it said it had:
begun fact-checking photos and videos posted in France, and would expand this to other countries soon
developed a new fake account investigative tool to prevent harmful election-related activities
started work on a public archive that will make it possible for journalists and others to investigate political-labelled ads posted to its platform
In previous days it had also announced a revamp of its privacy settings, and said it would restrict the amount of data exchanged with businesses that collect information on behalf of advertisers.
This latest controversy is likely to increase distrust on Facebook and provides more ammunition for critics.
PAPigs may want to label it as Fakebook?
Rule BY Law or Rule Of Law? You tell me? new Law after law after law....fixed Ah Hai & own siblings....keep hiking taxes....keep confusing....that's the JOB?
No difference from the Ching Dynasty of China.
Hi Anon 4.02
Frankly, only Fools had Facebooks accounts just to show to the World how big your prick is by taking a photo of it just for the LIKES.
Showing off all their stupid private lives to the Public thinking that they are smart.
People wants to value their privatecy to enjoy their private leisure lives.
Even the PAPies leaders also posted in their Fark Books showing their Stupidity.
One post of yourself and you are swarmed by thousands of unsavoury characters of Ah Nehs and other scoundrels who wanted to befriend you and screwed your Arses.
This for immature juveniles growing up not for Adults.
@ Virgo
For once I agree with Virgo. I've been warning people about FB since 2008---10 long fucking years, and have been summarily ridiculed and scolded for my "stupid suggestion".
Needles to say, I'm laughing so darn hard now, I almost gave myself a hernia.
Fools and their data will soon be parted π
And the worse, Matilah, these bastards and bitches will scorn and laugh behind your postings.
So much for the LIKES.If they knew the dislikes, they commit Hairi Kiri straight away.
@Virgo
>> And the worse, Matilah, these bastards and bitches will scorn and laugh behind your postings. <<
Eh, Virgo...I know it is impolite to boast. But as one of my old chain-smoking VSOP Dallas Niteclub regular uncles used to "school" me in the ways of the world:
"Ah Boy ah, lim peh kali kong... if you have a skill or achievement, just say lah. Don't scared scared like char bor... if what you say is true and a fact, then you are not boasting!"
So here's my statement: I am the most thick-skinned motherfucker I know. π»
I've lived in White Man's Land for 2/3 of my life---over 40 years, as a foreigner. So needless to say I've had "encounters" of the cruel and bigoted kind. π€ From whites, and (surprisingly often) from cunty welfare-queen Abos. I've thus developed a very impregnable hide as an aegis against the poisoned barbs of xenophobia, and every manner of insult.
So if they are laughing, I hope it is heartily, with all the vim and vigour they can muster. Good! Si peh ho!
But now they are royally FUCKED...their data is so revealing and thorough, the bloody A.I. tell how many hairs are on their arseholes, and what they had for dinner and where and with whom 467 days ago. All their SMS kena tankap... "Hello la-ling, 2night make luv ok? xoxox <} ", their voice kena analyse and speech patterns stored....wah...si...peh...HO!
...and I am having the last laugh π€£
The Select Committee member Dr Janil Puthucheary referred to a survey published by REACH that indicated 92% of Singaporeans want tougher legislation against “fake news”, with a majority vouching for perpetrators to be punished.
The reference to the REACH survey was odd because of the fact that the Law Minister has referenced to it as early June 2017, but the result of the survey was only published on the REACH website on March 26, and then reported by the media on March 27.
Was “fake news”cunningly defined as “not fully accurate” news?
The first glaring issue would be the definition of "fake news" that the survey participants were led to understand.
The leading survey question, “How often do you come across online news that you think are not fully accurate?” is the probable cause for the 92% interpreted result.
If “not fully accurate” news is the substitute for “fake news”, then this is certainly ridiculous.
Therefore, the survey result of 92% agreement is nothing but the act for a colorfully dressed clown in a circus. It should only be taken with LOL or at best as a funny joke.
Deception in the name of truth against fake news.
I can easily design my survey questions to channel the result to the way I want it to be. In fact, anyone with a bit of creative imagination can do it. You don't need the REACH to reach out its head to be chopped into pieces.
