Makan dalam toilet Chapter 2
I have been attacked by some bloggers accusing me of rumour mongering and to create racial religious hatred despite the fact that I just mentioned an incident without making any reference to names or schools or country. It was a bad act of faith and not a pleasant thing to make children eat inside a toilet that some called a dressing room. There were 3 cubicles in the photograph. And the full news was carried in the main media. So shouldn’t the main media be accused of flaming racial and religious hatred as well?
Apparently some investigations have been conducted by the Malaysian Education Ministry and found that the practice was unacceptable and the principal, in all decency, has apologized. Who are the racists that are flaming this issue as a racial and religious provocation? I mentioned the word religion as the media reported that this incident happened because of Ramadan and the muslims were fasting. Not I say one ok.
The official explanation is that this thing happened since March. And the school was being helpful and considerate to provide the students with a safer place to eat while the canteen is under renovation. The school has an over capacity of 1,300 students instead of 600. So the students were allowed to eat in the toilet, or is it changing room? Just a question, how big is this toilet/changing room that can replace a canteen for 600/1,300 children?
It was also stated that the Parent Teacher Association was aware of this arrangement. The parents are disputing this and said that if it was done in March, why would they raise it only now?
As the Ministry has stressed that ‘this is not about religion or race’ and has seen it as inappropriate and presumably a more decent place will be provided, the parents should move on. There is no need to blow this out of proportion, said Mr Kamalanathan, a Deputy Education Minister.
The positive thing about this episode is that the parties involved have accepted that it should not be condoned and have apologized without letting it developing into another racial and religious ruckus. And I hope they are moving on from here.

If it did not happen during the Fasting Month, it would not have caused so much reading.
The People involved in the Arrangement need be more sensitive and sensible.
Its easy to call other tribe discrimination and racist, in order to find a way to exonerate the incompetency of one's own tribe.
So far, I can say honestly that Chinese is the least racist tribe in the whole world. It is not that we are totally colorblind, but we did far better in elevating minorities when we are in charge.
Less colour discrimination must be complemented by less religious prejudice, bigotry and extremism.

the issue came to the fore after a mother,Guneswari kelly whose daughter attended the afternoon session made a facebook posting.The session comprises 3 grades with only 15 to 20 non muslim students including several orang asli children out of nearly 600 students most of which are malays.
This is not a religious issue but just someone who do not feel comfortable on learning that their child eat in a shower cum toilet room.
Dy Education Minister had ordered the Headmaster Md Noor to close the makeshift canteen.
He is right to say that there is no need to blow this out of proportion.
Even if my future children are made to eat in the toilet cubicle or shower room,I do not feel anything wrong.
I would even thanks the school for helping to grooming them this way for me.
Parent should learn not to be childish and sensitive.

Dear Mr Chua Chin Leng
You still insist on calling the changing/shower room a toilet when pictures in the mainstream media showed the cubicles to be shower rooms. There were no toilet bowls or urinals in the cubicles.
You said you mentioned the word 'religion' in your first 'Makan Dalam Toilet' article. I believe you mentioned more than that. Might I remind you again you stated the following:
1) "And they want people to respect them and their religion!"
2) "... they have destroyed whatever respect and misgivings the victimized people have of them and their religion."
3) "How can you respect this kind of law and people?"
4) "Thank God we don’t do this to our minorities."
I do not dispute the facts of the case as reported in the mainstream media. What I contend with is the above 4 statements you made.
You have looked down on and insulted a religion and the believers of that religion in your sweeping statements based on the facts/fiction of the 'toilet' incident. I very strongly advise you to apologize and remove your offensive post.
If you do not do so, I will file a complaint with the Singapore Police Force at 9 am tomorrow morning. I am dead serious. You have until midnight today to remove those offensive statements.
Whoever you are, dead serious or not, in my disclaimer I have said that anyone who feel offended can let me know and I will remove the offending post. It is not my intention to want to offend anyone nor do I want to waste my time quarreling on such issues.
I have amended the religion part which I feel may make some people unhappy which was not my intention.
As for the law and people of Dubai, that is none of your business unless you are from that country.
The part about 'Thank God we don't do it to our minorities' I do not see anything wrong with it.

In complete agreement with you. I can vouch that RB is not a racist person. He's clear headed person whose passion is to highlight and comment with reasons on current affairs and social issues. I've ever spoken to him. As such I know he's not a trouble maker. One or two may hurl insults on you but that really don't reflect the rest of us lah. They just like to langgar for whatever trivialities lah.

There are people who can feel insulted for no reasons. You cannot reason with these people are you must protect yourselves from their negative emotions outpour.

It is a great dissappointment to see that there is demand for Redbean to remove his post.
There were many instances of suspicion that some policies were implemented lopsidedly in favour of certain Race. Or discriminated against certain Race and or the Minority. There were also instances whereby Ruler was said to be outright disrespectful of certain Race and their Faith. But there was no demand or request to rescind or review those policies nor was the Ruler told of any ultimatum.
Redbean picked up a subject from the Media to pen his views and feeling and reader(s) demands that it be takened down. This unfair treatment vis a vis the Policy Makers and Redbean is hard to understand.
Why so? Why is Redbean single out though his Post does not harm anyone?
RB should stay away from such freaks that demand everyone be right according to their ways. Anything they can claimed to be hurt and want to report to the police. Only in a country when the minority is so overly protected that they could do such things to bully the majority. Try that in other countries and see what the police will do.
RB, you did the right thing. Don't waste your time. Let them be.
