PAP could have won Punggol East
There were two articles in the Sunday Times by Warren Fernandez and Han Fook Kwang analysing the Punggol East by election. Warren’s comments could be summarised under the following points, The writing was on the wall for the PAP, There’s no winning without a fight, Politics may be local, but all elections are national, Voters want ‘someone like me’, and Politics contrains policies. In these headings he more or less explained why the PAP lost Punggol East. If only the PAP could read his analysis before the by election, it would have won. There are so many enlightening comments and strategies which would help PAP in the by election and may be in the next GE.
Han Fook Kwang’s recommendation was simpler. He suggested that the PAP needed ‘to relook is the type of candidates it fields for elections….Get the right people in its leadership and the right policies will follow.’ What Han Fook Kwang did not say is that the PAP had been recruiting the wrong people that came up with the wrong policies. This is just what I read between the lines.
To me there were many issues facing the PAP then and going forward. The quality of its candidates, some were good, left much to be desire. It was so obvious to the voters but not to the PAP. Even some ministers are doubtful starters in the GE. They were the ones who formulated all the policies that were not only unpopular but seen as against the interests of the citizens. And obviously they did not get it and quickly propounded this great theory of a 6.9m population without highlighting the consequences of such a crowd but only economic growth. And we know what the PAP wants is not what the people want. And trust me, they are going to vote for the White Paper in Parliament with overwhelming majority. And they will proclaim that it was approved in Parliament.
Will a change in the type of candidates work? It is not just because they were elitist, not because they were parachuted down in the last hour, not because they could not connect with the people, I think there are more to it. It is history at works.

Wow, had PAP fielded Warren Fernandez and Han Fook Kwang, the bookies would have offered 10 to a hundred for them to win. Meaning chances of any one of them(Warren/Han F K) to win would had been 1 to 10.
Not only the Two will lose foe sure, the Brand of the Party will be sent to the cesspool as well. The Two Media Folks are the Worst Known Sycophants of the MSM. Do they have any match?
Many had said that the Straits Times and all other publications by SPH have turned to Shit Times and papers for dog poos. What will the Two say to that?

Han Fook Kwang in reply to dear bro Patriot:-
Hi bro, you want me to give up my good life of a fat salary, bungalow and all things nice just to defy my boss
An axe always hanging above my head. Just simply act yak bodoh and quietly ride into the sunset.
After all, me not suffering at all, why bother of the others
Makes no difference whether PAP picked non-elitist or ST journalists. The tide has changed if you dont wish to believe. It's harder for the PAP to make people believe that it is sincere.
So far PAP thinks that there is nothing to worry about even if it loses one or a few seats. Only when it loses its 2/3 majority, its balls will shrink. GE 2016 will see that happen. So I would not care whether PAP listens to the people or not. MY mind is made up. My advice to the PAP: carry on with your elitist beliefs. Youf ace your Wateloo soon.
Politicians must obtain the support of the people othewise there is no trust and respect when come to execution of policies. Parachuting MPs (then becoming Ministers) through GRC is a shameful way. These are the people who dare not stand against opposition to win their rights to rule instead hidding behind strong PAP support.
Does a PAP MP represent his constituents or PAP in parliament?
Does PAP represent LKY or PAP members?
Does PAP represent Singapore or does Singapore represent PAP?
If PAP MPs are hurriedly pushed into Parliament on the coat-tails of established MPS in sure-win uncontested constituencies, how can we be sure they are good?
The other reason why such Ministers are getting worse in value for money is that after being smuggled in, they immediately assume high office unlike decades ago where they have to earn their spurs by starting from studying the incumbant.
Now, even before they are elected, they are already presumed to be minister quality, even without doing a single act of competency.
How can Singapore not be going to the dogs?
