Hong Lim Rally - Do not ignore us!
How many Sinkies out there feel strongly about the increasing population and more foreigners that are going to be brought into this country without their consent, and despite their disapproval? The voices of objection have been spoken and the 77 men and women have heard it. They don’t take heed. They are ignoring the people of this island that called this island home and wanted to fill it up with more and more people. After creating this life time crisis, they are offering another solution that could lead to a many life time crisis as the only solution.
No, the people, excluding the 77, did not want more people here. No, they want growth but through other means. No, there must be other ways to create growth without having more people. There can be growth without increasing the population. There can also be growth with 5m or 4m people. Whose theory is it that without population growth there can be no economic or GDP growth?
GDP growth and population growth are not inseparable, that they must go in tandem, that without one you cannot have the other. They are not inseparable twins. The people want growth but not the huge population that will be introduced into this little piece of rock. Don’t ignore the people, don’t ignore the more than 5m people.
This Saturday’s Hong Lim Protest Rally could be our answer to the Tea Party Rally, our very own Kopitiam Rally.

I have never ever attended any rally at Hong Lim in the past, preferring always to let my vote speak instead. But I will attend this one. It has come to this. Although I don't know what it will achieve if anything to thick hides and deaf ears, but I feel some strong message needs to be sent all the same.
I have attended many hong lim park mini bond protests. But very few turn up. One time less than 200 so I stop going
Just go lah!
What do you have to lose?
If you don't try, your children & grand children got no more future in Singapore.
For 6.9 million people. Where is the additional
a)doctors
b)nurses
c)hospital beds
d)MRT trains
e)HDB flats
f)schools
g)teachers
h)COEs
i)old age homes
and etc.going to come from?
Do you think PAP is capable of delivering the needed planning and additional capacity?
Do you know how long is the current waiting list for entry into an old folks home?
The mini bond is a small crisis affecting a small group of people. This population issue affects everyone of us, and our children and their children.
Don't be irresponsible. This is the time for Sinkies to do what is necessary to protect their own interests and their children and grand children's interests.
This is the first time the Sinkies are thinking and angry and wanted to do something for themselves. A spur has been driven into their hide and it is painful. They are feeling the pain and more coming.

IF SINGAPOREANS WISH FOR LESS PUBLIC TRANSPORT BREAKDOWNS, LESS HIKES IN UTILITIES, HEALTHCARE AND EDUCATIONAL CHARGES, PLEASE BE AT SPEAKERS CORNER(HONG LIM PARK) TO BE COUNTED.
SHOW TO THE RULERS THAT WE ARE NOT IN FAVOUR OF THEIR IMMIGRATION PLAN/POLICY.
IT IS ALSO TO SHOW THE DISPLEASURE THAT OUR RULERS HAVE TAKEN US FOR GRANTED.
WE HAVE TO SHOW OUR RULERS THAT THEY SHOULD NOT TREAT US AS DIGITS IN THEIR PURSUITS OF WEALTH.

Buy SMRT shares.
If SMRT cannot, government & Millionaire Lui will just pump in more billions until can.
If PRC drivers cannot, Singapore army will also be sent in to help out SMRT.

I will go for the Hong Lim Rally if it doesn't rain and if they give freebies and if I got nothing else to do on that day. I will go there and hopefully can say hello to redbean.

[Positives from the population debate]
"What is important is that the discussion shows that S'poreans do care; they do have clear viewpoints on what they want and are not comfortable with.
If we were a nation of "quitters", this debate would not have mattered half as much.
Going forward, with the population debate, we have an opportunity to build a collective reflex as a people, but only if we are prepared to set aside partisan views and act as S'poreans.
