Teo Ser Luck: Singaporeans must accept F1 race as a necessary event

Is this true? No mistake, that Teo Ser Luck said this. Singaporeans must accept F1 as a necessary event! Does it mean that if Sinkies do not accept, something bad is going to happen? Our woman folks will become maids or something like that? So the F1 is being raised to the same status as foreign immigrants. Sinkies must accept more immigrants as a necessary thing or there will be no economic growth?

So the future well being of Sinkies is now dependent not only on foreign immigrants to increase our population, but also F1, another savior. Would the F1 organisers and drivers now also can thump down Sinkies as without them, like without the casinos and foreigners, our economy would go on a downward spin?

What else are necessary and Sinkies must accept other than the super talented govt? Keep more money in the CPF that is untouchable? I think this one is also something Sinkies must accept as necessary. High property prices must also be one. High cost of living nothing to say. And congestion, crams and jams everywhere, and not being able to afford a car are the few unnecessary things Sinkies must accept to live with as quality living.

And Sinkies got to be very grateful. With a house full of super talents, only a few things are necessary and must be accepted. If the house is not filled with super talents, Sinkies would have more things to accept as necessary, like cleaning toilets or working as foreign workers or foreign maids, with a degree from one of the world’s best universities.

Be grateful, be very grateful.

Die, die, ordinary people must sacrifice first, and those with "helicopter view" could stay relevant and engaged.

Uniquely Singapore!

Sigh! More Singapore fairy tales.
This type of standard, then I also can be a Millionaire Minister;

In order for Singapore to be the most cost competitive economy in the world;

1.Singaporeans must accept the lowest wages in the world.

2.Educate our children to the highest education level in the world ... with no help from the government.

3.Have liberal labour laws which offer no protection to the Singapore employees.
So foreign investors know they can bully Singaporean employees without fear.
And sack pregnant women without wasting time & money consulting a lawyer before doing it.

4.Work for free for 2 years in the Singapore army to protect the HDB flats which do not really belong to Singaporeans but the Singapore government (and ultimately the Singapore reserve which no Singaporean can touch or even see. Just believe.)
And also protect all the expensive private properties owned by my friends and familee which constitute 10% of Singaporeans.
But just to double confirm, we must also hire Gurkhas to protect the VVIPs. And it is I who suka, suka decide who the Gurkhas will protect. No need to be consistent.

I encourage other Sinkies to add on to the above management wisdom from our Millionaires-In-White.

Singaporean necessities...F1 races to attract shoppers to Orchard Rd..but spare a thought for all those retailers at the bay front ok..don't worry about the traffic snarls...Singaporeans will adapt n be thankful for the tourist $$$$ ..come to think of it..why not bring NASCAR as well as motor bikes..we can be a city of year long road closures..cos in between all these events..we'll have NDP n chingay..so..how much blip did it do to the economy..nobody really knows but the figures will be massaged to ensure the correct spin...methinks..all this is for the civil servants who love to be seen on the F1podium...hehehe wish they stop being glamour puss n go back to generating year long programs... Then again..that's a hard call.

Be fearful and very fearful if you do not accept what you are told to accept

Hi oldhorse, welcome to the blog.

Sinkies are soooo lucky. We have practically every toy in the world here. What we need is a safari where we can put some real lions and wild herds for big games and I think we should be complete.

Chua Chin Leng蔡镇龍 aka redbean said...

As for the F1, it is for those who want to be seen. For the spectators, why pay to get neck sprain? And you can't even take a good shot at the cars except throught the cage.

It is a waste of money for the ordinary spectators.

Do Singaporeans have a choice to increase population to 6m? Or only the govt wants it to be 6m? And then tell the Singaporeans that this is a must accept and a necessary thing?

Who owns this island?

Another of those MIW that talk cock and sing song.

Necessary for what? Boosting egos is all I can think of. Same with the YOG. Does it make a differene to the majority of Singapreans?

Wow, Teo Ser Luck is talking like those army boys turned rulers. Matilah Singaporeans! Now the People In White are commanding the people and demanding conformity and compliance. Si liao, it is worse than junta regime.

Where on earth got a govt telling the people, must accept, no choice, and for what, a racing event?

Who is master and who is servant?

Singaporeans must accept?

I think they should also think of accepting their fate come 2016 if they continue to shaft things down our throat.

The talk of changing seems a distant and forgotten promise and I can see the same old tactic coming out from the product of the the same old mould.

very sian i hear these millionaires in white ministers. every time come out from their mouths: must sacrifice, must accept, must be prudent, etc, etc. but they live in big houses, have big cars, million dollar salaries, job guarantee, rc members carry their balls, get portrayed in msm as so wise, so intelligent and with hearts of gold, etc. but in reality they are so lousy at their jobs.

Singaporeans must accept high property prices and high ministerial salary as necessary evil.

TSL, this kind of lanjiao standard also can be MOS and earn millions. Pardon for the vulgarities.I do not just look at grades but actual ability but in TSL case, both his grades and ability sucks.

Same old song from the old records, made from the same master tape and now recorded onto CDs.

I think they still do not get it. They think that by getting the younger MPs to sing those old songs will appeal to the people who will after listening to it being repeated again and again will make them believe.

I understand not everyone is into motorsports but why are we begrudging others who enjoy the event? The F1 is NOT merely a motoring event for the enthusiasts, it also comes with concerts and has a nice carnival atmosphere. Do you know with a $58 walkabout ticket, you can watch a Jay Chou concert? And most Jay Chou concerts is like $150? And what Katy Perry and Maroon 5. Again, I'm not saying you must learn to like music. But surely you cannot begrudge someone else who enjoy the event? If you do not like F1, then just don't go. But there are others who like to enjoy themselves once in a while, with music and watching the best of men and machine perform. And is that a crime? The F1 is expensive to put up, but if you see the impact on the hospitality industry and retail, there will be people working in those industry who will benefit. Also, those companies (mostly) SMEs who provide the logistics and track equipment etc - and they have improved so much over the years. Surely they benefit from the F1? And the music lovers and car lovers as well. Life is about enjoyment right? If you do not enjoy music or speed, why are u begruding others? The F1 only takes up a small part of singapore. If shopping is your hobby, then just go to a shopping mall in Orchard.

You miss the whole argument altogether. It is the way that it was put to the Sinkies, that it is a must accept and a necessary event, or a necessity.

No one here is begruding anyone. Don't talk like the MIW accusing people of something that is not.

You get the drift?

Teo Ser Luck is one minister that hardly looks
straight at the camera or has eyes to eyes contact when talking.
In body language interpretation, there is a term for it.
Anyone knows what it is and what it stands for?

Casinos, obscene pay of ministers, high influx of foreigners to steal jobs away from locals, sky high costs of living - what did singaporeans done to deserve this kind of treatment? that is voting the PAP.

It is called progress. Good for the sinkies.

Minister Lim Hng Khiang and a Prof Tan Khee Giap said today on CNA that Singaporeans be prepared to pay more if foreigners are not engage to work locally.

The rich and powerful will always use such arrogant arguments to bully the poor and weak. This is like you want to complain, we give it to you in return. See you dare to complain again or not.
