I am not sure how many of the statements below are true. This article has been circulating in the internet for a long time. If they are true, are the Libyans better off now? Also, are the Iraqis better off now?
Here are the claims of life under Gaddafi's rule.

That why the country fall...
The civil war in Libya must be instigated by envious foreigners.
In this internet age, how come we cannot tell (or cannot find a reliable source to tell) whether the statements are true or false?
So what if they are true or false? If they are true, then it only shows that those material standard of living are not as important as what Libyans (and NATO powers) want. If they are false, then there is no point discussing at all.
Anyway, look forward. Nostalgia can't bring back the dead and the sacrificed. Just hope that Libya can follow Tunisia's track for the time being.
For those who are interested can definitely dig out the facts. Any Libyans here to clarify: )
If they are false, Gaddafi deserved to be overthrown for robbing his country's wealth. If they are true, then the Libyans should be financially well taken care of. The viciousness of the dictator is still an issue.
Those who suffered under Gaddafi should be a minority if he has provided so well for his people. How did the minority got so unhappy and overthrown him?
My view is that any Arab leader is a bad leader and will be overthrown if he did not tow the line and be nice to the Empire. Iraq is still burning, Afghanistan is burning, Libya? Good for the Empire as long as everyone else is burning.
See how angry the Empire is with China when China is not burning?

There is. The Wikileak. Because it tells the truth so those liars will try to stop it by all means.
Any government cannot satisfy everyone in its country. It is OK if there is choice for the people if they want to change the government. This is democracy. Otherwise, the country is not a democracy.
