Deja vu on Mother's Day
Shops catering to the love of mother are doing a roaring business these two days. Mother and motherly love sre in everyone's mind. The Sunday Times has this touching article on Madam Tay Et and her 21 year old young Kevin who is struck by muscular dystrophy. Kevin has been bedridden for the past 11 years and is reduced to nearly skin and bone. His life depends on his mother. His mother did everything for him, including brushing his teeth or changing his sleeping position.
The intensity of human love knows no bounds and particularly stronger in a mother child relationship. Mother is there, always sacrificing, for their children.
The human milk of kindness is not limited to just humans, and animals too can benefit from it. Many are pampering their pets with things that the average human beans can never think of. Spas, daycare, fancy food and cafes, foie gras and strollers. We are bettering ourselves from living harmoniously with all races to living harmoniously and lovingly with animals. Some even regard animals as families. And some consider animals better than children who could turn out to be spoilt brats, cruel and ungrateful.
And there is this picture of two ladies pushing a beautiful pram with tender loving care. And inside sits a beautifully dressed up shih tzu. They must be part of this new family composition. The shih tzu must be calling the elderly lady grandma. And the lady must have introduced the shih tzu to her friends as my baby.
Somehow I got this strange sense of sadness flowing through my veins. I could not pin point what it is, but it won't go away. It can't be deja vu for sure.

From loving fellow humans to loving animals or anything with life is to be encouraged. It is transcendental and positive.
Of course, it becomes pervert when non human gets all the pampering and fellowmen are look at with disdains. There seems to be a development towards such an inclination.

Hehe,
Agree absolutely that taking a dog or a cat to the spa and beauty grooming is really perverted. These old aunties or barren women may have nowhere to shower their attention on so the poor dogs and cats become surrogates. I don't loathe them, I just pity them.
Forgot to mention that all mothers, including non-human species, are great.
Honouring extraordinarily for a day on top of respecting and loving them everyday is the right thing to do.
Please respect all mothers.

Mothers are great because it is in their biological genes to care for the young.
Dads are not bad. Just that it is in their genes to germinate and get the hell outa there!
Hehe.
Hehe Wally:
me forgot to honour myself, thanks for the reminder.
Ya, there are weaknesses as well, wise to be discreet and say nothing about it.

Wally 1.15pm is spot on.
I agree absolutely too.
One question. How come men don't do such silly things?

Because men have more common sense and more important things to do like sourcing for new mountains to climb and deeper seas to dive to.
Buying Kang Nai Shi(oops,is it for valentine day or mother day?) and bringing Mother for dinner once a year during Mother day is something I feel not natural.Children should spent more time with their mothers when they are around instead .
Mothers should be honoured forever, before and after death. My Mother is staying in Chua Chu Kang.I make it a point to visit her on special day and shh..... spent my night at her place secretly on Mother day.
I have to agree with agongkia.
Much of what we see today are merely commercialised events that benefit some businesses.
Really, what is the point of bringing out your mother for a meal once a year, if you do not visit her regularly? My mother would certainly tell me, forget about eating out. Just visit me more regularly.
Honestly, I think businessmen nowadays are very clever in exploiting gullible people to fall into doing hardly sensible things in life. It makes little sense, and yes, not natural.
My children brought my wife and me to Tampines One for a Mothers' Day Meal.
I ordered a dish of Codfish, but was served white fish and it was costly.
After the meal, me told my children to forget about celebrating Fathers' Day.
No wonder many restaurants come and go and disappeared after a while. They can't last with those underhand practices.
Celebrating Mother's Day, Valentine Day, Father's Day etc. is a misnomer.
It should be Enriching Merchant's Pocket Day. Not forgetting that your food may contain lots of the cooks' sweat as it is a very busy day. Yucks!
I am at a loss for words!
