Doesn't Times know who are the top 10 highest paid politicians in the world?

I think you have made a mistake!!!!
You must have moved the decimal point ? I suggest you re-examine your source.
LKY n the pap minsteers r no politician?
I think even praysiden natan is bcz he is elected.
The top ten positions should all be occupied by our very own special breed. How could they have made such a glaring mistake.
If they were just comparing salaries of Presidents and PMs, that may be true, but paid politicians must surely cover elected ministers of all shapes and sizes (including back door entries)
Lost Citizen
hi speed, still can't figure which mistake i made. decimal points are correct to the best of Times and my knowledge.
At least Lee Hsien Loong isn't half as bad as some of the other clowns (e.g. Sarkozy, Brown) in the Top 10 list.
LHL pay at $3.45mil is nothing compared to Liew Mun Leong $21 millions.. Anybody knows how much are judges slaries here? Just curious.
Chickenwings,
Liew is ridiculously over paid in the first place. He is a hakka therefore is "ka ki nung".His salary runs similar to CEOs in General Motors,AIG,RBS and etc.which drew flak from the people.
You have to compare apples with apples. Here we are talking about world politicians. Facts are there to prove our PM Lee is grossly overpaid and under performed.
hi feddup, welcome to the blog.
i am still wondering what is the real reason for exposing liew mun leong's salary. was he so innocent to grant an interview like tan yong soon and got the table turned against him? or was he ordered to accept the interview to show that the private sector is getting so well paid that politicians are now underpaid?
there must be a reason, i wanna know why.
Funny, all other World Political Leaders do not complain and therefore not envious of the privileged World Record Incomes and Powers of our Leaders.
And yet the local citizens seem so jealous of their National Leaders. Is it because the locals see and know their leaders better than the Foreigners ?
Yes,really very funny! Why should other world political leaders bother about the leaders of this tiny dot. Many, many foreigners don't even know where this tiny dot is!
Local citizens are of course troubled and not jealous as you have put it because they are paying taxes to support these high salaries that are not justified by their performance. They are also worried about the growth of an elitist group which cannot relate to the common people who are considered as "lesser mortals."
Yes, after 40yrs of their rule, local citizens definitely are well acquainted with their leaders who don't know how to relinquish their positions but rewarding themselves with astronomical pay. That's truly funny and immoral!
Leaders of other nations have more important national issues to attend to. They have the safeties of their nations, wellbeings of their people as priorities by virtue of their political appointments and duties.
Most political leaders in the World are mostly financially well off and are committed to do their best for their countries. National endeavours and global achievements are their motives in wanting to lead. Money is only important to some corrupted/greedy regimes or some members of some regimes. Fortunately, most regimes in the World are respectable and honourable. Others are fearful of bad names, repercussions and retributions.
Yes, foreign political leaders need not envy the incomes of Singapore leaders, it is not their concerns. Unlike Singaporeans, foreigners are not affected by policies and incomes of Singapore Leaders.
