One day, news will be written this way

Rupert Murdoch has warned against the role journalists and old media have been conducting themselves. Soon they will run out of readership if they think they are still demigods. This is what Murdoch said, "It used to be that a handful of editors could decide what was news--and what was not. They acted as sort of demigods. If they ran a story, it became news. If they ignored an event, it never happened," Murdoch said. "Today, editors are losing this power. The Internet, for example, provides access to thousands of new sources that cover things an editor might ignore. And if you aren't satisfied with that, you can start up your own blog, and cover and comment on the news yourself. Journalists like to think of themselves as watchdogs, but they haven't always responded well when the public calls them to account." We shall write our own news and in the way and style we deem fit. We can shout and scream and kpkb. The old media cannot beat us on these.

Blogs are big on opinion but not so big on fact.

Markets are demand driven — the consumption of news and opinion are markets because people want these goods.

Bloggers and those from the MSM are both equally arrogant trying to "out do" each other.

The fact is that both blogs, private news channels and the MSM are in existence, and continue to exist. Just open your fucking eyes and pay attention.

Rupert has always been a man with an opinion. Sometimes he's right and at others he's not.

The fact is no one can be 100% certain on how complex self-perpetuating orders are going to evolve. No one controls the media and no one controls the internet. At the end of the day what is "popular" will be determined by the billions of individuals making their particular choices in a huge market place where ideas are exchanged.

Everyone would read what they want to read, but not what they need to read.

Can someone explain to me how " no one control the internet"?,when some one can shut down a service provider or take down a web page or a blog.

If someone shutdown a service provider, you change service provider.

If someone shutdown your blog or website, you start another.

Simple as that.

Maybe a better to way to put it will be to say that those who "have" control, have very limited control.

hi hermit,
welcome to the blog.

the internet is a great revolution and will change the world, has changed the world and will continue to change the world. it is unstoppable unless a govt pass a decree saying that anyone using the internet shall be hanged.

Apply 2 to 3 inches of mulch over the plants root system once all
foliage is removed and discarded. It has a very strong
odor that will take your breath away. Depending on the density of the mulch, one should lay two
to six inches of mulch over topsoil in the vegetable garden.
