It is getting bad
Just came back from lunch. My plate of vegetarian rice used to be $3. The stall owner apologised for having to charge me $4. He said everything is up. Bo bian.
The other day I wrote about a Malaysian pastry that was $2.20 and now $4. And a duck rice stall that used to have 8-10 pieces of duck meat. It still gives the same number of pieces at the same price. But the meat used to be 5 mm thick. Now each slice is 2-3 mm thick. And this is only the beginning.
No, absolutely no inflation. Just a bit more expensive only.

Everytime they keep saying things have not increased in prices much. I wonder where they got all the information. What is reported officially and what is happening seems to be totally different.
And, by the way, some hawkers and shops had increased their prices way before the GST came into effect on July 1st. Of course there were no price increases after July 1st, so the perception is there is no price increase after GST.
I'd love so say "I told you so"...
so I will. ;-)
That's the best thing U'll say, mati.
Always. ;-)
But the authorities did say that 3 in 4 likely did not increase their fares. This means those 100 to 300,000 or 500,000 who did so should fall under that caveat in the absence of an islandwide headcount.
everyone seen to learn from our leaders, greed & capitalism is way to go. If our leaders keep on increase this & that and making the cost of living more unbearable then end result everyone would just follow to suck other to offset their cost increases so end up middle & low income earner were suffer more. Did this old MM lee realised.... he wrongful acted..
according to all reputable sources, there is no profiteering, inflation is low, and everything is the same as before. and with the 2% GST helping the poor people, their lives must be getting better.
no sweat.
