When one Hamas leader is killed, another will rise. How
could there not be so when more than 41,000, half of them women and
children, have been killed by the Israelis? Their children, relatives,
siblings are not going to just forgive and forget. In any case Hamas is
bigger than one man. Hamas is an ideology, not an existence based on one
man. It is not going to fall apart so easily. Just like a country, when
one leader dies, no matter how influential, another can always take
over.
It has been reported that Israel too suffered greater than
reported deaths of IDF soldiers than it admitted. This has been played
down by the Israelis to keep up morale of the IDF. There has been much
censorship against social media reports of the atrocities committed by
the Israelis, including burning Palestinians alive in tents. The
Israelis are taking a leaf from the Nazis and committing holocaust
against the Palestinians.
So, will the death of the Hamas leader
end the war as Biden and Netanyahu are gloating? Not so easy but what
is more worrying for them is the fate of those hostages. Hamas will
never let them go now. Their lives hang more in the balance if Hamas
were to exact revenge over the killing of its leader. That is precisely
the purpose of taking hostages, using those hostages as a bargaining
chip. When the chip is no longer effective, getting rid of them is the
logical step.
Biden is gloating about a great day for the USA,
Israel and the world over the killing. He is living in a world of
fantasy of his own making.

Hamas cannot be killed. It is a political ideology, an Islamic Resistance Movement, as real as Democracy and Communism. Hamas' leaders come and go, the supporters carry on the ideology, with new leaders taking over the helm.
As long as the USA and Israel exists to exert control over them, Hamas will continue to exist as well. That applies to Hezbollah and the Houthis undoubtedly. Leaders of these organizations know the dangers they face and the risk they are taking, but that does not deter them. We should know that even Islamic suicide bombers do not fear death at all. Death does not shake their ideological beliefs.
So, Biden and Netanyahu can continue to gloat about a greater chance for peace with the killing of the Hamas leader. They are living in a world of fantasy of their own. Israel and the USA will have to prepare for a war that will be long and bloody. And the USA does not like long wars.
The Vietnam War lasted from 1955 to 1975, twenty years in all, with North Vietnam emerging the eventual winner, despite the massive odds against the military might of the USA supported by allies. Twenty years was coincidentally the period the USA tried to control Afghanistan and still lost the fight against the Taliban. This is going to be repeated in Ukraine. And who dares to bet that the USA's presence in the Middle East will last another twenty years?
Twenty years from now, Hamas will still be around, Hezbollah will still be around, the Houthis will still be around. And countries like Lebanon, Iran, Syria, Iraq, Egypt will not just disappear. This is their home ground.
