Japan, with a population of 125 million people, without counting the foreigners in the country, has been reporting average of less than 50 Covid-19 infections per day for the last 30 days.
On the other hand, Singapore, with a population of only 5.6 million, including foreigners, has been reporting an average of 3,000 Covid-19 infections per day for the last 30 days.
While Japan is a big country, Singapore is only a small city.
While Japan is run by leaders paid less than the mediocre SG$500,000 annually, Singapore is run by leaders who shamelessly and very loudly claimed themselves to be outstanding and demanding to be paid the world's highest and most obscene salaries of multiple $millions annually, plus bonuses sometimes many times more than their annual salaries.
From these facts, Singaporeans should have realised that they have been taken for a ride for a very long journey, for a very long time.
Singaporeans should now realise that they have duds, masquerading as outstanding talents, running their city state. Those duds don't even deserve 10% of their present exorbitantly obscene salaries.
On top of that, their poor performances should not entitle them any annual bonus at all.
May justice and fairness reign!

Higher costs due to Progressive Wage Model will be passed on to consumers
Any increase in an industry's wages must also consider its potential negative consequences (Wages of 40,000 private security staff to go up, Nov 13).
The higher manpower cost will be passed on to consumers, and it is those who are struggling, such as retirees, who will bear the full brunt of this inflation.
Singapore cannot rely on progressive wage increases indefinitely.
A more measured way could be to allow more people to be eligible for the Workfare Income Supplement scheme by extending it to workers under 35 as well as those earning up to $2,600 a month. Payouts could also be enhanced.
The Government must explore other means to fund this increase such as the goods and services tax, higher income tax for top earners, a wealth tax, estate taxes, a capital gains tax or even a travel tax.
The pandemic is not over yet, and the spread of the virus could yet disrupt economies again if immunity wanes.
Companies cannot continue to sustain high overheads while not passing higher wage costs to consumers because of their already thin margin in this competitive market. Somehow, someone must pay.

Isn't this common sense?
It's always the customers or consumers paying for everything - from government officers' salaries to politicians' under-table and over-table money, to businessmen's profits and to costs of services and taxes.
Every single cent is paid by the consumers.
Where else does the money come from?
Let's welcome Sim Joo Geok to the blog. Another confident blogger using her name to post.
I like your comments in para 4. Not only they shld not get the bonuses, their pays shld be cut or drastically be reduced. They are getting the highest pays in the world is bcos 61% of the voters let this happened. Despite the country is not doing well, it seems that their pays once go up will never come down ! They shamelessly are proud to pay themselves humongous pays to make themselves enjoying the Swiss standard of living whilst the majority of the citizens and business peoples are suffering due to poor management of C19.
When this high pay for super talented ministers were first proposed not many were able to dispute it as it was during a time when very few were graduates. The graduates, especially those few with scintillating academic grades were really seen as super talents then.
Today almost every one is a graduate and the aura of academic superiority started to fade. And with each day dragging by, if the so called super talents cannot perform, the more they are paid, the more ridiculous they looked.
Yes, if they are going to join the private sector based on their qualifications and experience, not many would be able to get half of what they are paid now, not many would get 10% like they said, and not many would even be hired.
The CECA Indians would laugh at them hilariously.
if i am not wrong, our gov is the most expensive in the world base on population.
there are a lot of useless org/company/subsidary created over the past 20yrs by the gov. in the name of job creation/reducing of worldoad..etc
billion$$ had been spend on so call research/innovation..etc..but who actually benefit??
if all this accesses can be cut, then the papies would have no reason to kpkb about needing $$ here & there..all this point to the selfies nature of the ruling elite.
so please wakeup singaporean...time to end the Lee dynasty..
Agree. Why waste money doing research on polar ice melting? Leave it to the bigger and richer countries to worry about.
Why pay CEOs of bus companies in the millions. As Tommy Koh said, running a bus company is not rocket science. And there are many companies and organisations that can be run by any average grads.
Then you have mayors being paid nearly a million for doing what when the job was originally split between an MP and town council or HDB?
The painful thing is that is everyone in the basket must be paid in the millions, then they would have to tax and tax the poor people to pay and pay themselves in the millions.

Research ? don't we know how Sink Culture works ? They pretend to do extensive and deep research here but yet shamelessly quote from other countries' research material that has more depth and substance written by professor and academic that are paid lesser than tiny red dot.
Aren't our world expensive ministers go round other countries learning from them (eg Finland, Norway ? ) How could they learn from the countries whose professional and government are paid lesser than them ? I thought our ministers are so talented that other countries need to learn from them instead, so how come the other way round ? Reverse and twisted logic, is it ?
Temasek defends faux-meat valuations in US$1 trillion market space
Singapore’s state-owned investor brushed off concerns about a potential bubble in plant-based food makers, saying that stellar growth and declining costs could help justify the eye-watering valuations for some companies such as Impossible Foods Inc.
There will be “pockets of froth” but top companies have a lot going for them, said Anuj Maheshwari, managing director of agribusiness at Temasek Holdings, which invests in Impossible Foods and several other alternative protein firms. He said it’s too early to say valuations are overly expensive.
Investors are grappling with how to value plant-based food companies, whose products still make up a fraction of the US$1 trillion global meat industry. Even as closely held Impossible Foods is in talks to fund raise at a US$7 billion valuation, shares of rival Beyond Meat Inc. have plunged after a disappointing sales projection sparked concern that growth is tapering off.
“Where the market is focusing on is you’re targeting US$1 trillion industry, the consumer trends are in favour of you,” Maheshwari said in an interview. “If 5% or 10% of the industry becomes plant-based that’s US$100 billion of revenue.”
Alternative meats, from those made from plants to others using extracted animal cells and grown in bioreactors, have emerged in response to concerns about animal welfare, the impact on the environment and increased antibiotic resistance in the food supply chain.
Bloomberg Intelligence forecasts that retail sales of plant-based meat and dairy could swell to US$162 billion in the next decade from US$29.4 billion in 2020. Growth will be driven by innovation, increased production capacity, lower prices and consumer acceptance.
While the Covid-19 pandemic has caused some faux-meat novelty to wear off, the industry’s prospects remain bright, according to Maheshwari.
“The macro is very, very strong. The sustainability, the government mandate, everyone wants to get there, consumers want to make switches,” he said. “We’re not going to wait for 2050 for plant-based products to become mainstream. It’s going to happen in the next five to seven years.”
For cultured meat, which involves growing products from cells without killing animals, the technology needs to be more developed before companies could see the kind of growth and valuation of plant-based peers. Temasek has investments in lab-grown chicken maker Eat Just Inc. and Upside Foods.
“We remain bullish on this, we think the science will develop, we will continue to invest in this sector,” Maheshwari said. “Unlike plant-based sector this is a more longer term game. But for Temasek, it’s exactly the kind of thing we can do, which a lot of our peers might not be able to do.”
Other details from the interview:
While the boom in plant-based meat’s popularity happened at a time of low inflation, technology will bring costs down and help counter the impact of soaring food prices on demand, Maheshwari said.
Temasek has invested more than US$8 billion across the global agri-food supply chain since 2013.
It will set up a platform to accelerate commercialisation of sustainable food in Asia by providing manufacturing capabilities and market insights.
It will also provide a network of connections and allocate capital to promising food-tech start-ups.
New platform will partner German multinational Cremer and Archer-Daniels-Midland Co., one of the world’s biggest agricultural commodities traders, in plant-based and microbial proteins.
Life sciences and agri-food investments made up 10% of Temasek’s US$283 billion portfolio as of March 31, 2021, up from 7% in 2019.
Why all this kpkb on this blog. Very easy to eliminate this disease. The 4G PAP clowns who have failed in this pandemic and all other national institutions should be kicked out and replaced. End of year bonuses will be coming soon. Lets wait and see if this group of clowns have the thick skin to ask for bonuses for their fail performance in running the country. Kick them out. If they think they are doing well, then have the guts to call for a snap election to prove their popularity.

Of course, our clowns should be paid even more millions than ever. Without these clowns, our infection rate will be 50,000 per day, death will be 100 per day, mother and daughter will become maid, father and son become grab drivers going by how those clowns will defend themselves.

Boeing 737 Max Renamed 737-8 To Hookwink Customers/Passengers?
"In September this year, the CAAS said it had lifted the suspension on the 737 Max flying in and out of Singapore after evaluating design changes to the aircraft as well as its safety record over the past nine months and finding "no notable safety issues".
"On Tuesday, the airline said it had invested about S$230 million on the development, design and installation of "new industry-leading cabin products" for the 737-8."
SIA has only spent money (S$230 million) on the aircraft's cabin, not the aircraft's safety issues.
Neither does changing to name 737-Max to 737-8 enhance the safety of the aircraft. Such a move may confuse and mislead the customers into thinking and believing that its a new model of the 737 Series.
The main issue is that the overall design of the entire aircraft is faulty. Therefore, no matter what one does with the design of the interior of the aircraft, and how much time, money and efforts one has spent on the now proven-unsafe 737 Max, it does not remedy the main faulty features (manufacturer's faults) that have affected it's safety tremendously.
The CAAS has taken a great risk to announce that it has found "no notable safety issues". It would be prudent to make sure that the manufacturer (Boeing) declare that all the safety issues of the 737 Max have been solved and that the aircraft is safe to fly again.
Obviously, there are still safely issues regarding the design of the engines and fuel tanks, the design of the wings and the design of the aircraft's body. All these three safety issues have not been solved. All these three combined together makes the aircraft dangerously unsafe.
The talks about software problems are all red herrings, and seeing the trees but missed the wood.
The fact remains that the same safety issues that have caused the two crashes that killed all their passengers and crews on board, have not been solved yet. Why?
Simply because they cannot be solved!
As such, the 737 Max aircraft must be put out of operation/service and sent to the junk yet.
Please don't play with other people's lives.
As it is, Covid-19 has already claimed nearly a million lives. The least the world wants is to add more preventable deaths to the list of unnecessary casualties.

Impossible Meat 340gms selling for $9.50 Beyond Meat 453gms selling for $19.95 - fake meat selling for 3 to 4 times the price of real beef brisket. Human bodies evolved through millions of years eating real meat we need the real amino acids from real meat to build and nourish our bodies. All these plant based propagandas came in less than 12,000 years since the advent of agriculture and grains - Big Agri are making money on the health of mankind. Many health conscious and well informed people have ditched grains and carbs for real food and that is the reason many are avoiding these fake food with little or no nutrition. Beyond meat is imploding, Impossible Meat will be meeting the same fate. Temasek is throwing good money down the drain without understanding the fundamentals of human nutrition.
Welcome to the blog, tanhh.
Cheers
The interesting news now is that countries like Brazil, Indonesia and some poorer South American countries using China's vaccine have seen substantial drop in infections and death lately. Even India, using their own vaccine, has also seen very effective results in preventing infections and deaths.
What does all this tell us? And why is Singapore, the most vaccinated country, using Pfizer and Moderna vaccines still struggling to contain infections, with daily figures that are out of proportion to it's small population?
It is also noteworthy to mention that lately, because of the proven effectiveness of Chinese and Indian vaccines used by China and India and in those poorer countries, the West has practically ceased demonising the lower efficacy of Chinese vaccines. The proof of the pudding is really in the eating, not outright propagandizing
Now it has also been leaked out that Pfizer had fudged it's test results and that it's efficacy rate was more like between 19% to 29%. This is shocking, but with the no liability clause in it's use, the world had been engaged in a fatal experiment that is looking more and more ridiculous in it's extreme.

As More Singaporeans Go Hungry, PM’s Wife Offers Free Mouthwash
The Government has bleated on disingenuously about the need to rebuild the reserves through higher taxes on middle-and lower-income Singaporeans (the hike in GST from 7% to 9%) but refuses to come clean on what is the real surplus and how much the reserves have increased with the huge rally in global markets (though maybe not in Temasek’s Chinese investments!).
Meanwhile Ho Ching clearly feels the offer of free mouthwash will jumpstart her new political career even as her husband refuses to tell us what she has earned over her nearly twenty years as head of Temasek. How much longer will Singaporeans proudly go without basic safety nets that would put a third world country to shame while the Government manipulates figures like GDP per capita to claim that Singaporeans are the richest people in the world?
On the basis of these bogus statistics Ministers ensure their spouses and relatives (as well as PAP MPs and ex-civil servants who have proved their sycophancy) monopolise all the top multi-million dollar jobs at GLCs that are not taken by foreigners.

Typo error - third paragraph from the bottom, "junk yet" should read as "junk yard".
Sorry for the error. Thanks.
