How to run down a world class airline 101

India Airline, the monopoly airline of India, the first choice of all Indians, reported a whooping $2 billion loss. Can you believe this? And Air Garuda of Indonesia, reported a 100% growth in profit for 2024 to 2025 and on target to hit a 50% growth for 2025 to 2026. Air Garuda is performing many times better than first world Air India, Can you believe it?

Air India not only has big losses and looking like this will last for another few years at least, its aircraft are losing flight control in the air, losing height in the air, its pilots are caught for taking drugs. And these are only a few things that are reported in the news. What about those not reported in the news, those deliberately covered up?

How to run down a world class airline, from profitable to losses? Learn to run an airline like Air India. But before I start on the prescription to run down a world class airline, let me just say a few things about world class airline. It has a great reputation for all the good things, safety, reliability, good management, good quality of service, good support staff, good technical and maintenance support and good, well qualified and professional pilots with unquestionable training and flying records. And for all these good things, a world class airline can charge premium prices. The customers are willing to pay for safety and quality with no compromises.

OK, how to run down a world class airline? Learn to do everything Air India is doing. Hire Indian management, hire Indian crew, Indian technical and maintenance support, Indian pilots, Indian quality of service and flight track records. No need to look too far. The quality of aircraft, the age of aircraft, the pilots, yeah, this is the most crucial factor. An aircraft can come falling down from the sky when the pilots are questionable, from questionable training and experience and behaviours like taking drugs. And the technical and maintenance crew, the engineers and technicians, and the parts they used to replace any worn out parts or parts that needed to be replaced.

Why is Air India not a world class airline? Oops, correct me if I am mistaken, that Air India is a world class premier airline. The quality of management may affect the revenue and profitability of the airline. But what are the high net worth passengers paying for, paying more than other airlines? It is safety, the top most concern of all airline passengers. No one want to pay anything when safety is questionable. No one would want to pay more when safety is compromised by substandard questionable pilots and maintenance of the aircraft.

A world class airline puts safety and quality of the aircraft top most in its offer to their premium clients. There must be no compromise on the safety and quality of the aircraft. These are the cardinal principles not to be violated. Once customers found out they have been shortchanged, they would migrate to other more worthy airlines. Would any silly management be willing to save a few dollars to compromise on these two cardinal principles and still want to charge premium prices and want to continue to be called world class airline? Would any world class airline dare to say we hire substandard pilots, we hired substandard maintenance crew and we charge premium prices?

Important points to note. Customers willing to pay extra for the newest aircraft maintained by the best technicians and engineers and flew by the best pilots, not substandard cheap pilots.

This is lesson 101 in keeping an airline world class. Stupidity has no cure.

Air India has an atrocious maintenance record of its airplanes. Those who have travelled on its planes have found this out, with simple things not working normally just around the seats alone. If this is supposed to be the face of the airline, what else that is unseen is in a worse condition?

Anyway, whatever happens, the airline can always blame the plane makers, while the plane makers like Boeing can always blame the pilot or the airport. In such a situation, how can we expect improvements in the running of Air India. Wait long long for profitability.

Actually Air India might be making money, but only 1% of it share holder see an increase of digit in their bank account. It is how you play with the account, where you reports loses to milk more money from investors. It is just like SIA, they said it loss money, then ask the public to share the loss. Meanwhile the top management still got their bonus. Then after it make money, they forgotten about the public who eat their shit. Therefore I hope SIA will go the way of Air India, but unfortunately if it happen, the white party will use public money to clear their shit.

I do not swallow all the good news about Indonesia. You need to peel away the surface to get the real answer. Indonesia is using the Indian modus operandi in its economic gymnastic, especially its GDP growth. Indonesia is following the Indian formula of seizing foreign investments when the occasion arises by changing the rules and amending laws.

The rupiah has fallen into unknown territory, just like India. Prabowo Subianto is telling the Indonesians that a falling rupiah does not affect most of Indonesia's poor because they do not use US$. Prabowo does not look capable of doing what the previous President, Joko Widodo, did in maintaining stability and managing relations with China and USA.

There is a perceptive change in the behavior of Prabowo, different from the one that rushed first to China atter his election and during the Chinese Military parade in September 2025. What caused the change, we do not know. The dark side has obviously got to him.

Some silly airlines die die must hire Indian nationals for their management team, hire Indian half past six technicians and engineers to maintain their aircraft, will soon ended up like Boeing, and also want to hire fake Indian pilots to destroy their operation and reputation.

偷工减料 or cutting corners to save cost is a cardinal sin of all enterprises. A premier service or product must be made with the best material and craftsman. Trying to save cost by hiring cheap and poorly trained pilots with suspicious background is a no go and only stupid fools will do it to destroy the credibility of their premier service or products.

This is what is happening to Boeing, saving cost by employing cheap Indian engineers and technicians. Now engine falling off, undercarriage falling off, doors blown off, aircraft losing height, software corrupted and affecting flight control and safety of aircraft...with so many crashes and loss of life.

Who is next to be Boeing? Once the reputation for safety and reliability is lost it is lost.

Air India is telling SIA to pay up for Air India's losses or sell its share to an Indian company for a song. Pay you die, don't pay you die.

Modi has taught Prabowo how to swindle foreign investors especially China. Prabowo has swallowed line, hook and sinker, thinking it was a very good idea. Now Indonesia is screwed.

Modi did not tell Prabowo that India has been screwed by China and there will be no more Chinese investment in India. India can only buy Chinese goods, parts and whatever on a COD basis.

No Chinese companies will be duped to sink money in India. Period. If Indonesia does not wake up, it will end up like India to China. Some African countries will also face the same fate. It is like the daft beggars thinking they can cheat and rob their rich benefactors.

China has the technology, the finance and goods that the world desires and wants. China can sell these goods directly without having to invest in plants and factories in silly countries. They want Chinese goods, buy from China. Good quality, good prices.
