names main condition for BRICS membership - any country seeking to join
the BRICS group should not participate in illegal unilateral sanctions,
Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergey Ryabkov has said, emphasizing
that this is a key criteria for Moscow to welcome new members.
Speaking
at a press conference in Moscow on Tuesday, the diplomat touched upon
Russia’s vision for the further enlargement of BRICS.
“For us,
one of the key criteria for admission to BRICS and welcoming partner
states is non-participation…in the illegal sanctions policies, illegal
restrictive measures against any BRICS participant, first of all, of
course, against Russia,” Ryabkov stated.
This stance is met with
“full understanding” by other BRICS members, Ryabkov noted. Moscow
expects such a position to maintain its “core nature” as the group grows
in the future, he said.

PS. Singapore is proud of its principles and American rules based order or rules of law. Singapore would be happy not to join BRICS?

When BRICs started to formulate their Trade Agreements and Cooperations then Sinkeland shall be sunk.
They shall have their own preferential Tarrifs and priorities for their own in their logistics and all forms of trades.
If possible their ships and planes to call at their own ports and airports.
Also with special landing and berthing rights.
Airports concessions and priorities.

Singapore does not need BRICS. It is already a 'bricks and mortar' economy.
If Singapore is not careful, it will end up like Japan and now China too. Of course, real estate is collapsing as well in the USA, with a huge commercial property reportedly changing hands for US$1. Ridiculous!
Within ASEAN, Malaysia is joining BRICS. Thailand and Vietnam will follow. Then there is Myanmar, Laos and Cambodia to consider. These countries are eligible under the new ruling.
In time to come only two ASEAN states will be left outside BRICS. Just thinking!
The rail route across malaysia (klang to kuantan) will be completed & then another one build toward thailand in the north (narathiwat). which will be part of the bri project (trade) that malaysia used to join brics. As for the north-south hsr, malaysia can build to stop at jb, then ask sinkieland to build it own rail across the waterway if it want to join. So our howlian papies gov have to be careful now not to punch above it weight against it asean neighbour.
Understand Malaysia is upgrading Port Klang to double its handling capacity. This will tie in with the BRI project linking Malaysia to its Northern neighbors and beyond.
I believe it is just a matter of time that the canal across the Isthmus of Kra will be dugged. Now Thailand is talking about building two ports on either side of the Isthmus with a connecting rail transport system. This is less convenient.
