If I do not understand wrongly, USA AI developers are thinking of making a pile collecting monthly fees from those wanting to adopt their systems, while Chinese AI developers are looking at mass adoption of its open-source system enabling users to tinker and to improve on it. USA developers have poured in hundreds of billions to develop their system and wants to claw back all the money poured in. Chinese developers on the other hand are developing AI systems on the cheap, but not highly inferior to USA developers. The final outcome will determine who is going to win the AI war.
Is China, with its untouchable position in global filing of patents of new inventions, really is stealing USA technology as we are led to believe? If the USA has, let us assume, filed 10,000 patents, and China has 15,000 patents, how is it possible for China to steal an extra 5,000 patents from the USA that it still does not own?

I just watched a documentary on Channel News America about people detained by ICE and sent to a concentration camp set up in the desert. They call it a 'detention center' a very innocuous name that does not evoke attention, but where many detainees have died.
In Xinjiang, China set up those re-educations centers for radicalized Uyghur Muslims that have connections to terrorist activities, and such centers have been called 'concentration camps' by the USA and the West.
Two similar types of set-ups but with different propaganda attachments, they become different set-ups altogether. That is the power of propaganda. And the USA had all the propaganda support from the rest of the MSM around the world. US$1.6 billion can reap a lot of benefits. But the propaganda war is not just one sided nowadays, as traveling to China is exposing the reality.

Was watching a video on the rise of BYD and there was a clip where the interviewer asked that loser about BYD and he laughed and asked 'have you seen the car?'.

Pride comes before the fall. Tesla is even finding difficulty in the USA market without the subsidies now removed by Trump. Without the USA Government preventing the sale of BYD vehicles in USA, Tesla would be toast.
What we have seen for decades that winning by the USA has all been the result of its threats, bullying, lying, thievery and cheating. The USA always win by using underhand tactics like sanctions and tariffs and forming alliances with doggies to confront opponents. And the doggies will bark on its behalf.
As countries export less to the USA, that threat is no longer truly effective. and China is going to show the world that without the USA it can still survive. China is telling its oil refiners to just ignore the USA sanctions, clearly sending a message to the USA that China does not care what the USA is threatening to do. The USA is no longer the only country for others to export to. The world is larger than the USA and Europe combined, even if they get together to confront China. Even with exports to the USA shrinking, China still chalked up a massive trade surplus, which shows the USA is less and less instrumental in China's export destinations.
