China can be a strong advocate for open and rules-based trade in a time of growing global fragmentation, Singapore's Prime Minister Lawrence Wong said in a keynote speech at the opening plenary at the Boao Forum for Asia on Thursday (Mar 26). China also has a larger role to play in supporting Asia's prosperity and stability, with its vast domestic market serving as a powerful engine of growth, he said. Mr Wong cited the Free Trade Port in Hainan – where Boao city is located – as a "concrete example of China's commitment to openness" and its potential in shaping the region's evolving economic architecture. “We hope China will continue in this direction, supporting open markets and strengthening confidence in a predictable and stable global trading system,” said Mr Wong, who is also Singapore’s Finance Minister.

A 13 minute keynote speech in full by Lawrence Wong at the Boao Forum. The audience was listening very carefully at every word he said, especially the American and the Chinese delegations. Some people may still take umbrage at his recent comment about Japan's war crimes in China and asking China to let go of the past.

Lawrence's speech was carefully crafted to make sure that he is not misunderstood this time, not to draw unnecessary flakes from it. Some may interpret that he is pro America and urging China to follow the rules based order. From another perspective, it is Singapore's position to want China to take the lead in pushing and preserving the rules based order in a chaotic world that is facing challenges from irresponsible and powerful states that believed in wars and instability, that believed in might is right. Singapore's position is to maintain the rules based order that was working before but being threatened by abusive terrorist states recently. Singapore wants China to lead the world for stability, in AI and digital innovation, to pursue free trade and development, and under an order like in the past, based on rules and order, not on disorder and law of the jungle.

In his whole speech, not a single word was mentioned of the USA or America, but all about China in a new world order.  USA or America is taboo, disease. The Americans have abandoned rules based order and out to destroy it. The only reference to the Americans were about the wars and destructions in the Middle East and Ukraine, and the threats to security and stability in the world caused by the American terrorists. Oops, he did not say American terrorists. That was as diplomatic as he could get.

With the American terrorists busily fighting wars everywhere, indulging in regime change, bombing and mass murders, and China busily promoting free trade and economic development, are there still silly buggers calling China the aggressor, the threat to peace but kissing the ass of the American terrorists that are fighting wars and committing war crimes everywhere...calling the American terrorists as peace lovers, protector of peace and human rights and angels?

The reckless and irresponsible behaviours of the American terrorists are all out there for the world to see. Only the very thick and dense will still want to rely on the American terrorists to maintain peace and order in the world. America is about war and destruction. China is now well placed to take the lead towards a new world order of peace and stability and predictability in world affairs. The new world order cannot be left to the world's number one terrorist state. The new world order has no place for terrorist America, just like it has no place in the speech of Lawrence Wong. Not worth mentioning. China must step forward to fill the void.
