The Irony is that any country that aligns with or is a crony of the USA, has to endure the arm twisting of the USA and therefore cannot be trusted. Canada under Justin Trudeau has proven itself over the Meng Wenzhou issue. Netherlands, the home of ASML, has proven its loyalty to the USA over the ASML and Nexperia moves. Others like Italy, UK, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Philippines and other EU members are under the control of the USA and have to fall in line under the USA's dictate and threats.
Canada is trying to wean itself off USA influence, but China, in trying to foster close economic relations with Canada, has to tread carefully, as it is still a member of the Anglo-Saxon White clique. Just like Mexico, crumbling under Trump's pressure, Canada's position is more like shifting sand in the desert, depending on which direction the wind blows.

Global South countries have to always remember what the Anglo-Saxon Whites did in the past, colonizing, stealing, seizing, genocide-ing and are still having such thoughts today. Trump is still trying to invade Venezuela and Colombia for their oil. Earlier, he had talked about seizing Canada, Mexico, Panama and Greenland and the global outcry dented his ambition.
Having said that, the other country outside the Europeans is Japan also having the same ideology. Japan had been eyeing China for centuries, joining the Europeans against China under the Eight Nations, committing genocide against the Chinese during the Nanjing Massacre and attempting to bring China under its Greater East Asia Co-prosperity Sphere, a move nothing more than colonization of the whole of Asia. Therefore, Japan is as much to be avoided as the Europeans.
