At the 2023 National Day Rally on Sunday (Aug 20), Mr Lee introduced another age-bounded set of measures, this time designed to boost the retirement and heathcare savings of Singaporeans born in 1973 or earlier.
Unlike the Pioneer and Merdeka Generation Packages, this year’s edition is not called the Majulah Generation Package. Those who are eligible due to their age are not identified as the Majulah Generation.
Cannot understand why new citizens would also benefit from the hardearned money of our earlier generations when they did not contribute to it. Why waste our money to ex foreigners when they can be given to our more deserving original Singaporeans.
Hope the EP hopefuls would raise objections to this rule. Singaporean money for Singaporeans, not new citizens that did not contribute to it.
