Singaporeans are so lucky...graffiti on the pavement is big issue, big problem

SINGAPORE: The recent removal of pavement art outside Mountbatten MRT station by SMRT staff raises larger questions on public spaces and artistic expression, Mountbatten Member of Parliament Gho Sze Kee said on Sunday (Jun 7).

“This incident stirs up larger questions for our society. There will always be tension between artistic creativity, free expression and the rules that hold our shared spaces together,” Ms Gho said in a Facebook post.

Her comments come after the art piece, drawn on the walkway with a power jet, drew public attention several days ago after it was cleaned off following a complaint by a member of the public....

“I thought the right thing to do was to engage with LTA/SMRT and the police first to get the facts of the engagement before I talk about this,” she said, adding that “it is their prerogative to clarify to the public, and I will leave it to SMRT and the police to respond”.  CNA

The above is a part of important news in Singapore, with MP and police involved, or to be involved. Singaporeans did not know how lucky they are, living in paradise, an oasis of peace and safety in a chaotic world terrorised by state terrorists all over the world. This is about the biggest problem our MPs and police would have to deal with daily, while wars, bombings, killings are happening in different parts of the world, and where no answer can be found, because the terrorists have all the big weapons, the most advanced weapons, that no one dares to stand in their way or to speak up.

Graffiti is just a happy problem for Singapore to tackle. Let's hope our peace, safety and security will not be compromised in any way or be dragged or coerced by state terrorists into major wars and conflicts. Please do not import trouble for Singaporeans. Do not take our peace and safety for granted. Do not do anything silly to compromise what we are enjoying today. And silly things may not look silly, may look innocuous, nice, even great to have, fun, before they turned ugly.

While the world is in turmoil, countries being invaded, bombed, people massacred, let's be happy worrying about graffiti in the Singapore paradise.

Worrying about the opposition is another very big problem for the Government. Who to bestow the title of 'Leader of the Opposition' is another headache.

I am sure the WP is not waiting with bated breath who that title goes to after Pritam Singh's removal. If I am part of the WP leadership, I would say, just get rid of the stupid title bestowed by the PAP. No one in the opposition wards are too concerned over triviality.

What is important news in Singapore is COE movements, HDB new home sales and cat and dog issues.

I do not know there are happy problems. If it is a happy kind of feeling, that is not a problem.

For the information of those who did not know what is COE...Certificate of Entitlement, a certificate to be eligible to buy a new car.
For a small car, 1600cc and below, the COE is $125,000. Only after buying this COE can one buy a car which will cost another $60,000 or $80,000. And the COE is valid only for 10 years. When expires, the owner may still own the car but must buy another COE to drive it.
This is how expensive buying a car in Singapore is. And getting the COE is buy bidding.
